I'm on the 4 GB plan right now with AT&T... I just checked the website and it still says I have 4 GB, not 6 GB. When will the upgrade kick in? It'd be great if they could kick in right now, because I'm at 3.86 GB with 1 day left in the month, and I'm expecting that I'll use a decent amount tomorrow (last day before the next billing period.)

Currently have 10GB of data from Verizon for $80. Will I be eligible for the 15GB from this promotion?
You can likely switch to 15 GB for $100 that the new pricing will provide.

AT&T's changes go into effect on Sunday (Verizon's on Saturday).

You're 1 day short and there's no way to avoid an overage fee if you use data tomorrow.

But then again, you can just call them and they'll credit you the overage so no worries :)

The promotion starts Sunday according to the chat rep.

From Unlimited

To super-limited.

Then not-so limited.

How does that make any sense?

These prices are cruel. 15gb for $100?! That's $6 a GB. People should be getting 50gb for $100 at the bare minimum.

The only way I see it is if we all had unlimited data, then all the internet Wi-fi companies (Comcast, Time-Warner, DSL, etc...) would die out. There'd be absolutely no need for them.

That's like saying we don't need PC desktops / servers.

1.3 € /l ($1.5), the gov taxes a lot gasoline. BUT diesel is cheaper and far more efficient so are our cars so we need less gasoline. The US should follow the same pattern, increasing the price of gasoline to boost sales of eco-friendly cars and thus reduce greenhouse gas emission without diminishing the purchasing power of consumers.
We have diesel here, too. But with gas at $2.80 a gallon, who cares?

I don't think AT&T is going to touch that 10GB for $100 plan just yet. I think most families with this plan have 4 lines and have yet to see overages with moderate data usage.

What needs to change are the overpriced data plans that are slightly below 10GB. We should be able to get what we pay for, not pay more for less and be forced to get the 10GB plan.

In recent weeks, multiple carriers including AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, have been competing to offer customers additional data, and today, both Verizon and AT&T have announced more revised data plans that will see customers gaining extra data at no added cost.

AT&T is now offering additional data for its $40 and $70 Mobile Share Value Plan subscribers, offering 3GB of data for $40 per month (up from 2GB of data) and 6GB of data for $70 per month (up from 4GB of data). The plans also come with unlimited talk and text plus unlimited international messaging, with the new data caps available to both new and existing subscribers.

AT&T has also extended its Double the Data offer for higher-data Mobile Share plans until November 15, doubling the data of plans that start at 15GB per month. Under the promotion, customers with monthly shared data plans of 15GB will now be receiving 30GB of data, while those on 20GB, 30GB, 40GB, and 50GB plans will see an increase to 40GB, 60GB, 80GB, and 100GB of data, respectively.

Following in AT&T's footsteps, Verizon is also offering additional data for its More Everything customers that subscribe to $80 or $100 plans. For a limited amount of time, both new and existing customers can sign up to get 10GB of data for $80 (up from 6GB) or 15GB of data for $100 (up from 10GB). Verizon will be offering the new data plans on November 1.

Verizon has also begun a new program that will see it supplying a $150 credit to new customers who switch to Verizon and purchase a new LTE smartphone under a two-year contract or via the Edge program.

Verizon's plan options

So it's past midnight here on the east coast and I went to update my plan to the 10 gig option and suddenly the only other step is 30! It goes from 4 to 30 with a $50 jump! Where did the promised 10 and 15 go?? And currently I've got eight for $90 and that's completely gone! What game are they playing at??

I just bumped my plan up from 3 GB for $60 to 10 GB for $80 using the Verizon app no problem.

Att, Verizon are essentially forcing users into high dollar subscriptions with all these so called plans because otherwise, with unlimited, there would then be price competition for market share. Service then become the commodity that it should be in this day and age.

Similarly, plans are the cable companies strategy that get us to pony up for overwhelming quantities of channels that we never watch.

WTF, we have up to 20 GB of 4G for 19€ per month in France ($24).

When I was in Europe several years ago the person who made the call to a cell phone had to pay more than making a call to a landline. I found it interesting in that if the person is calling an Irish cell phone and the person with the cell phone was roaming in France I, as a calling party, had to pay the toll charge to France even though I didn't know it they were in France. It created a prejudice for calling cell phones, people would rather call a landline the cellphone because it's cheaper for them.
I was wondering if this still the case or if calling a cell phones is now the same cost to the calling party as calling a landline?

I'm on a 10GB shared ATT plan. Where's my discount or doubled data??

Pretty sure you have to call retentions or 611 and convince them to do it. Many users on this forum have done so, and now have 20GB for the price of 10GB.

10GB Data plan AT&T?

See above.

How much longer til we see unlimited data come back??

On AT&T? Don't hold your breath. We recently switched from 2 lines on "unlimited", and now there's the FTC suit. Even despite that I don't know if it'll actually come back, since technically they offer unlimited data on those plans, albeit throttled.
