I just got off the phone with an AT&T rep. I wanted to verify that my number transfer has completed because I've received a bunch of different emails and it got me all confused.

She said that my number had been verified. She then went on to fill out a form to let [whoever] know that my number port had been verified and to continue with the shipment process.

I then went on to ask when it would be shipped. She told me that they are scheduled to ship Friday. I asked when I should expect to get it and she told me that it all depends on my location. She said that I could get it on Friday (19th) or on Monday (22nd). She also told me that as soon as they ship it, I'll receive an email with the tracking numbers and that the arrival date/time should be accurate.

Note: If you are going to be a new AT&T customer and you are transferring your number from another carrier, it would be wise to call AT&T's Port Administration Center at 1-888-898-7685 to verify that it's been completed.
 
What I've seen so far.

Just about all of the apple orders have shipped.

ATT in-store orders have shipped.

ATT online orders have not shipped and are in progress.

Are there ANY ATT online orders that have shipped?

I think by and large this is correct. I order online from AT&T about two-three hours after they began accepting pre-orders on June 9th. Mine still says in progress and no updates.

Good tip, I just did that. She said mine was all set as well, and that delivery should take place. This was a bit generic, I mentioned how I ordered an iPhone and had not received a tracking number. The only info she could give that everything was set on her end.

I'm praying for Friday as well, as I already took the day off. And I'm also within 30 mins of both UPS and FedEx hubs. Oddly in my many years of being with AT&T (for home) and Sprint for mobile, I've never had a complaint. Hope this isn't the first. :confused:

I got the same email at 9:08pm tonight, the rep said my number was confirmed. This is the second email I received about this. The first one I received on Saturday, I verified the port, it was confirmed and then at 7:31pm today I received a follow up email to disregard that previous email from Saturday. :confused:

EDIT: He also said my phone would SHIP on Friday

Yeah this sucks. Seems she's confirming what I said. However, the girl I talked to said we could get it on Saturday since it's going to be Priority.

BUT someone just posted a twitter comment from ATT about the phones shipping to ARRIVE at customers on the 19th!?!
 
With all of the AT&T reps who claim that the phones will be SHIPPED on the 19th instead of received on the 19th, is there anything that would prevent me from placing a 2nd order with Apple and just keeping whichever comes first and rejecting the 2nd one?

For example, would I only get the subsidized $299 price on the first order? Or would both orders wind up canceled when they discover I have two ordered?

This is so frustrating, AT&T's website claimed they would arrive on the 19th, and now it looks like there is a good chance they won't. Especially with the message from Twitter saying orders placed before 6/12 will arrive on the 19th. I ordered on the 10th and their damn slow processing makes it look like I ordered on the 12th, which would make me miss out on the 19th. Grrrr

I did tell her that I had heard that it was being shipped Priority and that it could arrive on Saturday. She told me that it depends on the carrier. She said that it will probably either arrive on Friday or Monday.

I guess we'll all know late Thursday night or early Friday morning when we get the tracking emails.
 
I pre-ordered my 16gig black 3gs on the 11th and i still have the "processing" status with no tracking number

but instead of trusting different reps i'm just gonna believe in ATT's twitter statement

I actually hedged my bet and did this today with a pre-order at Best Buy. They are guaranteeing me one on Friday and it only took a $50 deposit which is refundable if AT&T gets their act together. If not, I'll refuse AT&T's shipment and wait for them to refund the money :D

Noooo, the guy said the twitter update told everyone it would ship two days early to arrive ON the 19th.

I'm in the "in progress" club. Ordered home shipping on the night of the 11th.
They said they ship overnight, so we'll probably get tracking info on Thursday, I assume.

My number transfer from Verizon's status is "Confirmed" so I assume all is good on that end.

Maybe AT&T should create a twitter page for it's reps, lord knows I called three of them today and got three completely different stories. I mean seriously, it's a big launch, why doesn't everyone get on the same page? :mad:

How can I access the twitter page? Everytime I try and go there it makes me try and load something strange?
 
You'd think, but when I click that page it asks me if I want to download the file attnews.

If I go to www.twitter.com it asks me to download a file named login.

AT&T seems to be continuing the streak of not guaranteeing the 19th. :rolleyes:

so, what does "depending on your location" mean. East coast, west coast, closer to a shipping hub? Just got to keep myself busy some more.. I've made it 7 days so far, running out of ideas. haha. at least there's a parade tomorrow to keep my mind off this torture. :eek:
 
I find this whole thing very weird because I just ordered mine yesterday and I just got the tracking e-mail.
 
I ordered through Premier around noon on the 9th. I was told it would SHIP on the 19th and I'd get it probably the following Monday. I said, "GREAT - I'll be out of town on the 19th anyway!" At this point, I really don't wan them to ship earlier - as I'd have to get a neighbor to pick up my package.

I am upgrading from a refurb 3g which I purchased on May 27. AT&T Premier is allowing me to upgrade to the 3G S as I fell under the 30 days buyers remorse policy. So I'm holding onto my 3G until next week and then sending it in the day after I get my 3G S. Awesome, huh?

I have been told Fort Worth, TX by two ATT representatives, and that they would ship on Friday, then I questioned, then they said thursday afternoon....

EDIT: ordered it on June 9 at 7am Central... from regular ATT site
