AT&T buyers still with "in progress" come in..

i ordered my iphone 3G S on Sunday the 14th and still says in progress. when do you guys think id be getting mine? Im anxious for my phone since it will be my first iphone.

all us ATT online-order "processing" group would like to find out
i ordered on the 11th around 4 or 5 p.m.
 
well ATT twitter says

" ATTNews iPhones preordered before 6/12 will be shipped 2 arrive as early as 6/19. Watch 4 an e-mail 2 track your specific order"

but the "as early as..." is bothering me
 
Give us SOMETHING more definitive!

Any updates from ATT online orders that are a little less vague than the tweet update? I am still "in progress"!


ATTNews iPhones preordered before 6/12 will be shipped 2 arrive as early as 6/19. Watch 4 an e-mail 2 track your specific order................................................or.........maybe later..........or when we get to it..................or when we wish we knew.........but maybe as soon as, we have no clue........you should have ordered from Apple..............

I'm sure that when they say "depending on your location", they're talking about how close you are to a hub. The closer you are, the more likely that it will arrive on Friday... the further you are, the more likely that it will arrive on Monday.
 
Woot! Mine says that it shipped! I ordered on the 13th from an AT&T store.

Something else....a lot of peoples phones are showing they are in Dallas/Ft. Worth.

That's gooooooooooooood news for me. I'm here and could possibly get mine on Friday.

From what I've gathered from the AT&T reps, we won't be seeing tracking numbers until late Thursday or early Friday. I'll probably check to see if I have one tonight, but I won't be checking as much as I have been the last couple of days.

The people who ordered in the AT&T store are probably getting tracking numbers earlier because they are following the phone from Apple to the AT&T store.

I just realized something. I might not get my tracking number until late also.

I'm in DFW and if all the phones are coming from here.....mine's probably already here. I forgot that all the phones from ATT always ship from this area.

That gives me a bit of hope for Friday. :)
 
You know what drives me insane about this is that AT&T had to have known they were not going to ship the iPhones out until the 19th. Not DELIVER by, but to SHIP. If they were not so damn ambiguous in their wording of “as early as” and it clearly stated that iPhones ordered before June 13th would ship on June 19th I would have purchased from Apple.

I am still hoping the customer no-service reps are incorrect on when the phones will actually ship and it will truly be an overnight shipping on Thursday to arrive on June 19th.
 
Yawn....same thing everyday.

If I preordered online or in a store, when should I expect to get my device?

In general, if you preordered iPhone 3G S between June 8 and June 12, your order should be ready for pick up, or delivery, on Friday, June 19. If you preordered on or after June 13, your device will ship between 7-14 days from when you placed your order. However, delivery dates are not guaranteed in advance. A few factors such as availability,
credit issues or other reasons may impact the delivery date.

Watch for our email with your expected delivery date.

If I preordered online, what happens between the order placement and the arrival of my device?
In terms of device arrival, you’ll hear directly from us between now and your delivery date so you know when to expect
your shipment.

In between now and then, once you’ve added your order to the shopping cart and you’re ready to check out, you’ll get
additional details on the delivery process.

Once your order is placed, we’ll send you a confirmation text and email with an order ID so you can use our Order
Status Tool to check your order. At first, you’ll likely see “In Progress” as status. We’ll update the status with a
shipment tracking number once your order is ready to ship.

So basically, for people between the 8th and 12th, our iphones will arrive or ship on the 19th and we'll hear from Apple between now and the day it's delivered to us. Who the hell writes these things? This is a very non-committal FAQ lol

Supposedly this doesnt apply to us Premier members.
 
Clearly none of the info at AT&T can be relied upon, and the reps are just guessing. We likely won't know until Thursday afternoon or later. I think AT&T doesn't seem to have a good handle on how many they are getting or when the 2nd delivery will come. I'm hoping lots of people cancel their online orders so I have a shot at the first batch.
