philly suburbs...

upload seems to be fixed but now my download sucks again. can we not have BOTH? geeze..

latest test:
down 0.40 mbps up 1.19mbps

No way. This is AT&T, after all. Fewer bars in more places is their motto. Same problem in DC. Not seeing the really strong numbers some are reporting elsewhere, but the upload is better (500-700kbps) and the download is now under 300!

Now it is the opposite....AT&T is capping the download speeds.

Looks like it's fixed here in Colorado as well. Considering it's a Saturday morning, I'm getting just under 2Mbps down and 600Kbps up. Yesterday, I couldn't get past 260Kbps up. I was able to get about 700Kbps when I first got the phone.\

Not sure what app to believe:

Fixed in Nebraska too. Went from .07 up yesterday to 1.6 up. Can't wait to tether when the JB comes out! The up speed is now faster than my roadrunner turbo!!

Same situation with me on rr turbo - and that is just plain sad. I had a service call with rr because of my poor download speeds and was making this very point on their upload speeds.

This problem was fixed in Philly, PA. on 7/30, in the afternoon. This is the speed that I'm seeing now on my iP4. :)

Fixed in Brooklyn Heights, NY. Got 600 down and 1000 up from my house yesterday on new iP4. Double my Roadrunner upload speed. Drops to 60 and 6 immediately after applying "deathgrip". Case here I come.

Downtown Columbus OH is like night and day. I was getting 71 down and sometimes nothing up or maybe 50 or so. Sometimes I couldn't even ping the test servers.

Now I'm getting 825 up and averaging 1000 down.

Ok... back to square one. My data connection is almost non existent (Downtown Columbus OH). I called ATT and got dropped calls twice. I have 5 bars displayed and am running 4.1.

Okay, here's my theory on what's happening: your first 15-20 GB of download is uncapped 600KB/s, but theres a threshold at which they start to cap at 100KB/s.

I just moved to the Denver area and decided to rely on my iPhone 4/AT&T 3G for my only Internet service. At first it worked great! Streaming netflix HD, downloading torrents, gaming. Everything was great. Then at somewhere between 15-20gb worth of data, my speed dropped to pure crap. There has got to be some way to trigger a reset or something because this is complete crap. I think this is clear evidence they do indeed throttle high usage customers. What's the point of having such a fast network if users can't use it.

It took about a week for me to hit the throttle point.

wrong. I have not used even 2gigs of data over 2 years combined with the iphone and was still capped

And this thread has been dead for 2 months already for an already fixed problem. Nice job on the necro-thread.

It was on my subscribed threads and it is still of interest to me even though the problem has rectified itself. I read a ton of old threads and reply if I feel it is warranted.

Keep in mind you are not obligated to reply to any or all threads that happen to be reflected in spy. Replying is optional so if you don't like it, why post?
