At least you have an estimated delivery, mine just came off backorder yesterday night and is still in progress. WTF, I ordered at noon 6/15, screw ATT.
I'm dying over here. I got Apple's email yesterday stating that I would, in fact, receive my iPhone on June 23rd. However, tracking shows that it arrived into Atlanta in the wee hours of the morning but I've never known a package to be delivered on the same day that it arrives into ATL. I live in the northern burbs and it usually arrives into another facility before going out for delivery. I'm getting the feeling that I might get screwed today. Guess I'll be working out of home for two days this week....

Don't know how FedEx is going to pull it off but, says it'll be here today. Looks like it left TX a couple hours ago, probably on it's way to Ontario, CA where there is a huge hub.

I pre-ordered on June 15th and mine is out for delivery today, the only problem is that it is being shipped to an AT&T store because I am doing an exchange with my 3GS, do you think they will let me come in today after its delivered (since I imagine a large amount of pre-orders are all shipping to the store) Any ideas? I don't want to wait til tomorrow
I just got a fedex tracking number this morning. It came off backorder last night. Now, it is displaying "in process" and "null" for the carrier, but shows a fedex tracking number. Things look good to receive it tomorrow. Also got an email from ATT saying to review my new service plans/commitments.
Mine went off 'in progress' yesterday around 4pm and showed 'shipped' and had a FedEx tracking number. The tracking number shows that it is suppose to be delivered today by 3:00pm, however it also shows that FedEx hasn't even picked up the package yet! How can that work??

same thing here, ordered on the 15th at 6 am and it is still in progress. I just don't get it.
My order finally shipped. It will be at the store tomorrow. It literally just shipped within the last 30 minutes. I pre-ordered on the 15th and got a paper receipt. The site was showing the 16th as the order date and it has been "In progress" since then. Finally it actually made some progress. It is shipping through UPS and I have a tracking number.
I'm in the same boat. In fact I called FedEx twice this morning before deciding to head into work. They told me it should be delivered today but everything I saw online indicated differently.
I'm thinking their systems are hosed though because they show the 6:11a update until almost 10am! If it does come today I'm covered because I live in an apartment and can duck out early. If it doesn't I'm not too worried because I can always WFH tomorrow.

I'm in the waiting "in progress" group. ordered from att at 7am on the 15, that order was later cancelled the same day. reordered at 2:30pm, that order took. had to confirm credit on the 16th. my order date on att says the 16th, still in progress. i've called att and they say no tracking number has been issued, but it should be here tomorrow. how is that possible if it has not been shipped? there was a temp hold on credit card, today it was removed and now there is nothing on it. i feel for everyone in this situation. i think there are better ways att could handle this situation. maybe iphone 5 will be different...

Just got my tracking number to show on the order page! Fedex shows "not found" but hey, progress!

Debacle? I'll wait and see how many folks pre-ordered on 6/15 and don't take delivery by 6/24 and then make a decision.
When I pre-ordered, I was told to expect delivery by 6/24, possibly 6/25. That appears to be the case.
I was also charged the $200 upgrade fee on both phones even though both were under contract for another 5-6 months. In fact, when checking a month ago on upgrade status, I was told I'd have to pay a $18 fee on my wife's phone but that was waived when I ordered.
So far, A T & T has done what they said they would do.
I agree with you 100%. I'm not sure why all of the hand-wringing and whining. So long as the pre-ordered phone is delivered 6/24, then they met the expectations. As soon as the orders were placed people began demanding minute-by-minute accounting for their order status. Aside from the actual debacle with the servers during the pre-orders, I don't understand the complaints about how the orders have been processed.
That said, I was "In-Progress" until about 4pm GMT on 6/23, but I have now been moved to "Shipped" with delivery on 6/24.

yeah! at&t's site finally says shipped! my order was listed as backordered until today. they cancelled the duplicate order and shipped the other. still no confirmation email on the shippment but it's a step. i pre-ordered around 11AM EST on the 15th, at&t had it listed as the 16th. hang in there everyone that hasn't seen a status change, you will soon enough.
i can't wait to read 1000 posts about activation issues tomorrow!
