Bonus minutes can also be added per line. So if you have 5 lines, you can add an extra 200 minutes for free to each one for a total of 1000 more minutes a month.
Bonus minutes are used before normal plan minutes are used. So if each user only uses 200 minutes a month, you will get to keep all of your normal minutes as rollover.

Guys the U200 code is an expired code and is being pulled forom accounts. I added U200 and could view it on my account, then I tried to have it added to my other line and when I looked at my account online again it was gone. The rep told me it was expired and she couldn't added any longer. So if you got it today, check your account online again and make sure it is still there.
Worked for me too. I called from a landline, asked to add a feature code. He said he was going to put me on hold while he did his thing. About a minute later he came back and said it was all ready to go and would send me an email to confirm.
Just checked my account online and it's added. Combined with the FAN, this might even out with the original iPhone plan!

I was told by my CSR that it is permanent, until I change my rate plan. If I do change, then any codes would have to be re-applied and if they are no longer valid at that time, then I would lose them.
You probably want to see if it is a valid code still before you change your account in the future.
The other codes I tried were rejected as invalid, but the U200 stuck. I doubt that they would go back and sweep them off, but rather think it was an error on someone's part along the way.
My U200 code is still showing, but I will keep an eye on it over the next few days just to be sure it does indeed stick.

He didn't ask me any questions told me it will override my previous 1500 txts for $15

I just got off the phone with a guy that got my 1500 SMS for $8.99 added (this was my 2nd time calling).
For those that are being told it's incompatible with the iPhone, the guy told me this as well when I first asked about it. I first of all said I had a coworker that had an iPhone 3G as well and it applied, and he just said he wasn't sure about them, but the system was telling him the code was incompatible with the iPhone plan. He mentioned something about the 200 SMS plan, but said it was the iPhone's unlimited data plan that was incompatible and of course you can't remove that. Since he mentioned SMS, I asked if he could just remove my 200 plan and add this in its place and he said it wasn't the SMS that it was incompatible with.. then he was like "wait a sec, maybe it IS the SMS plan and not the data" so he tried removing my 200 SMS messages for $5 and added this, and he said it went through and seemed surprised. He confirmed that I still had my unlimited data and now 1500 messages for $8.99, and I just logged into my account and verified it for myself.
So for anyone being told it's incompatible, be sure to specifically ask them to remove your current SMS plan and add that in its place.
I'm about to call back and try to get someone to add the U200 code as well
update: just talked to a woman that first of all asked me if it was noted in my account about the U200 code, and said that they can't just give out bonus minutes. Then she said to hold on a minute and said that she couldn't add it anyway because it was a grandfathered code that wasn't valid for new use so she couldn't add it anyway.
I'll probably try again later, but I'm almost scared to with hearing people saying they had codes show up on their account and then later disappearing... I don't know how much I want to tempt karma since I've already got my discounted 1500 SMS code on there, and I doubt I'll talk enough on the phone to need my full 450 anyway (plus the rollover minutes will help boost that every following month)

OMG!!!! I just called ATT about an hour ago. At first the girl said she didnt know if she could do that. I told her an HR person at my job had the code on her plan, and she's had it on there for a while. She asked if I knew what kind of phone she had, I said no. She told me to hold, and next thing I knew, I had 1500 text for $8.99. So excited. I hope it stays on there. Between this, and my corp discount, my bill is looker much better.
