Guess I'm wrong then =], do they remove it and put it back on or is there no hassle at all? I don't understand why you can't sign up at an apple store w/ FAN.

Im guessing something to do with the codes and stuff. Apple doesnt have full access 2 ATT systems. So it seems. Plus, that would just make the wait even longer than it already was.

Alright so I call again after being told my 4 people and a supervisor that the code is expired (u200) and after having it on my account then having it removed.....aaaand they added it on the 5th call again.

AT&T really makes no effin sense with these codes. You can use it, you can't use it, blah blah.....

Make up your damn mind people!

Not sure if I should keep trying but after 4 attempts, the last 2 they said those codes (TMS4 and U200) are not associated with my FAN number (West Coast Comcast) I keep trying to BS and say the numbers are on our Employee Perks sight but no luck so far.....

Edit: It was 1 male and 1 female so far. Will try again late night and post results.

Try with a landline and tell them what the code is for. I believe someone tried ten times before successfully getting it added to their accounts. Are the csr's male or female? Usually female ones are better.

I've had better luck with the males actually, the females are too worried about the validity of the codes, the males don't seem to give a crap.

Seriously, call all night if you have to, at some point, someone there will apply the codes you want. There is no rhyme or reason to when or why they apply the code. I think they just have a dart board that has yes or no written in each ring. When you ask for the discount, they fling a dart....if it lands on no, then no discount for you.

just tried to having the u200 code added (already got the TMS4) but the lady on the phone had no clue whatsover about what to do.
She just kept looking through my plan to see where it said I get 200 free minutes.

She said she cannot just apply a code..haha..
Anyways..i'll try again later.
I had lots of luck on Sunday getting outsourced reps from India who were more than happy to accomodate!
I'll try late night and hope I get transferred over there.

because ATT doesn't want to give that kind of access into their system to all the Apple Stores, which is understandable, the Apple Store essentially is treated like an authorized reseller at this point and I don't believe those people have access to FAN accounts either, they have to call it in.

I am a student at the University of South Florida and I'd first like to thank everyone that contributed the valuable information provided in this thread.

I did indeed sign up for the premier account through my University using this site:
https://www.wireless.att.com/business/enrollment/?_requestid=23961

I called AT&T (800)331-0500 through a land line the first time. I asked the rep. to add the feature code TMS4 for 1500 texts at $8.99 and waited for him to confirm that transaction. Then I asked him to add the feature code U200 and then he confirmed that. I asked him what my discount on my premier account through the University would be and he said 15% of the voice plan which costs $39.99 for me.

I checked my online account and saw that only the "BSD 200 BONUS MINS $0.00" (U200) line had appeared under Added Features. So I called back this time on my iPhone3G. I told the rep. I had added TMS4 to my account but it had not shown up on my online account. After telling me the promo code was expired and that he was unable to add it to my account I had to tell him to remove my OLD text plan which was 200 texts for $5 and then try to add the feature code TMS4 again. He did so and then I saw the change immediately on my online account: TEXT MSGING 1500 B2B $8.99

This is what the rep. e-mailed me in the confirmation e-mail that I asked for:

"Customer called in about adding TMS4 promotion code that offered 1500 text messages for 8.99 I explain to the customer that the feature code was no longer offered and that we can stop the texting offer anytime since the promotion was not being offered anymore. I also did advise the customer that the promotion code may not work with the iphone 3g since we have certain texting plans set up for the iphone 3g. The feature was added and the old texting feature was removed. Customer was advised that the promotion code can be removed anytime and that it may not! be compatiable with his iphone 3g."

Any thoughts on what the rep. e-mailed me? Unfortunately I can't see my data usage on my online account yet "U1521: Unfortunately, we are unable to display your unbilled data at this time." I'm assuming this is because it's my first billing cycle with AT&T. So I am at this point unable to see if my texting is working on the TMS4 text messaging plan that I have just added.

I will update you guys on this thread with what happens on my first bill. I wish us all good luck.

I was able to able TMS4 to my account Sunday but the CSR said that he couldn't find the U200 code.

Can anyone confirm that TMS3 is the 250 messaging code?

As far as I know you can not get the 3g phone with a FAN discount.

The FAN discount is on the service, which is provided by AT&T, so it has nothing to do with the iPhone at all. If your company has a FAN account it can be used with your iPhone.

Also, keep in mind that different companies have different arrangements with AT&T. My discount is 20%, but others get more and other less. It is all up to the FAM arrangement.

I'd like to know what university you go to =D

With the iphone 3g it is said that the FAN discount works.

+ $70 for plan
- $10.5 for fan discount ($70*.15)
+ $8 for text
= 67.5
+ 13.5 for 20% tax in NYC (~11% + ~8%)
= $81 for my total bill

Hehehheheh That's funny but I can picture it!

I did get mine put on yesterday by a guy, he even verified that I have an iphone.

He thought at first that it was still $15, then I said it should be less and he put it in and said "oh yeah, it is!". :) Then he saw the B2B and wasnt sure what it meant. I said it probably was because of my company affiliation with AT&T.

He was nice about it and wasn't there to give me a hard time, but to help.

That's what I did but he was asking where he could buy it with the FAN discount intact.

I thought everyone knew you could cancel and then reapply, but I could be wrong.

Update

OK after 4 attempts during the day with no luck I was able to add the TMS4 code last night with no problems. I was afraid too that the previous rep might have put info in my account because she was very thorough on insisting that my company hasn't included those codes as a part of there FAN agreement and even grabbed a supervisor to confirm.

Gonna try and add the U200 tonight! :apple:

Rep would not let me add the plan. She stated that she could only add certain plans to the iPhone.

Keep calling.

"I'd like to add a feature code to my line number 555-5555. TMS4 to replace my current texting plan"

If they say they can't, thank them and say that you were mistaken, and hang up. Call back. Rinse. Repeat.

TMS4 worked perfectly for my small business account! I operate a small insurance agency with only 3 lines on our business account. We don't get any discounts or privileges (it's basically like a consumer account with the company's name on it), but because it is a "business" account, I was able to add this code with no problems. Thanks guys!

Here's a screenshot of my account now:

Looks like U200 worked, too. Good deal.

For some reason, I've always had those 200 Bonus Minutes associated with my phone number... I think I got them when I switched from an old AT&T Wireless plan to a newer Cingular/"The New AT&T" plan several years ago. The guy in the store said I had to switch to a newer plan to activate certain features on my phone, but doing so meant that I paid the same price for 250 less minutes per month. The guy was able to add those 200 Bonus Minutes to compensate for the difference, and they have stuck with my line ever since (and I've changed rate plans 3 more times since then). No complaints here! I've been able to use the cheaper plans knowing that I have 200 free minutes to add to the total. :)

From what it sounds like the TMS4 code usually gets added if you have a corporate FAN while the U200 is hit and miss?

I hope I get both but I'll settle for the text bonus...
