That's false. I spent 3+ yrs working for Cingular before leaving in early 2007. THE B2B is just referencing that the code was generated for business accounts. Their coding for all corporate rate plans/features start with B2B (at least they did for the time that I was there). Here's a sample:I was told that this would work on my account but these text messages are only good for business to business, basically 2 business account phones on AT&T network.
Are you guys aware of this?
B2B400NW5K - Plan for CRU (corporate) accounts, 400 anytime minutes, 5,000 night and weekends.
Same thing with TMS (Text Messaging Service). It used to be TMA (Text Messaging Application). The code input into the system (they don't actually input the code anymore but the rate plan/feature still shows the code that is tied to your account) is merely an abbreviation of the rate plan. These codes played an important role when we RSC's (Retail Sales Consultants) could either select the code from a menu or manually input them onto a customers account. Now they're not so important as reps use a simplified user interface that has a much lower learning curve.
Long and short, any RSC or CSR that you speak to will have access to every active feature code that's available as well as some expired codes that are no longer "available" and can put them on your account at the click of a button. You just have to convince them to put in the one you want instead of one of the 3 or 4 that they offer to every customer. If you're having trouble over the phone, get the contact info for an RSC at your local store. They're earning commission on the feature sale so they will GLADLY input the code for you.
Hope that helps.
