I saw that. I am Telegence, but I will try it.

I have tried -

BM200 - 200 mins
BM250 - 250 mins
BM350 - 350 mins
RUN7 - free 7PM nights and weekends

and struck out with each one.

Yeah, that wiki entry is apparently fairly horribly out of date. The BM ones apparently haven't been going through for a while now. Most of the wiki seems to be more a record of codes that have worked at one point or another. If you follow the thread on HowardForums, you can see what people are currently trying and what works.

I just called to add some of these codes, and I have US NAVY FAN account. The damn CSR said that he had heard of these aand these are fraudgulant codes. He said I don't know where I got these but these were not meant for me to have, and he would have to annotate the account. AT&T is not in the business to give away free minutes, blah blah blah, somebody is going to get in trouble for this blah blah blah. He acted as if he was going to catch me slipping up and bully me around, and scare me because he is going to have to be forced to annotate the account that I called about these codes. Whatever what a douche bag!!! Like said earlier either add the codes or not, don't be a prick about it.

wow that sucks... sounds like you got someone that's trying to hard to get a promotion or something. the I dealt with 2 people before getting it added on the 2nd one. the first woman acted like since she hadn't heard of it, I needed to prove to her supervisor that I was eligible to use the code and didnt add it. the 2nd person was a guy that thought it was incompatible at first, but when I told him to remove my current SMS plan then add it, it worked and he was really cool about it.

When I called back about adding the 200 minutes, the woman I talked to got a bit uptight asking if it was noted in my account that I was eligible for it, because "they dont just give out free minutes". I wish I had mentioned what I said to the guy that added the SMS plan when he first said 1500 SMS messages was $15- and that is "I have a FAN discount, which makes me a premier member and eligible for these codes... the purpose of me being a premier member is so that I CAN get these discounts, otherwise there's no point in it"

I tried calling four more times last night and STILL can't get anything added. I'm probably going to give up because after nine calls it's becoming pointless. Though the last woman I spoke with did say that she could submit a ticket and someone could get back to me. Figured that was more hassle than it was worth so I thanked her and hung up.
what are you saying when you call them? sucks that you're having so much trouble, but maybe if you walk through a typical conversation we can try to offer some guidance

Has anyone been able to add U200 (200 bonus minutes) in the last 24 hours? Every CSR I get claims the system won't accept that code.

Looks like TMS4 is no longer working...or they caught on to the obvious stream of people adding it....and I got yelled at. Fun.

They yelled at you? Funk that, I would have asked for a supervisor and logged a complaint. Then I would call corporate and complain until it hit the top. It would be the last time he yelled at a customer that would be certain.

Quick question.. I added a FAN through my college email. If I end up buying my iPhone 3G through an Apple store am I going to have to call ATT and have them remove the FAN? I just added it the other day so not sure if that matters or not. Thanks!

wtf. what did they say to you? and I imagine they just saw that it was incompatible before removing your current SMS plan and assuming it didn't work.

from what I understand, yes. when I was getting mine on launch day, I saw several people calling to remove their discounts so they could purchase one

i was FINALLY able to add the TMS4 to my account after speaking to three reps. I spoke to a woman who was very suspicious and kept asking me questions, like if i worked for Apple and how did i learn of this discount code, etc. It was very annoying, but well worth it!

I still find it funny that the people at ATT get suspicious/angered when consumers use one of the codes that THEY CREATED and put in their system. LOL.

Basically I say, "Hi. I'd like to change my text messaging plan with feature code TMS4."

Each one looks for it but can't find it anywhere. Either investigating the code, or genuinely wanting to help, I've been asked a couple times where I got the code: from Apple or from the AT&T store. I just say I got it from a rep. That's it. I've even explained what the code is but they all come back and tell me the current rates.

To get either code added I just called and told them I worked for "so and so" (which is true) and that HR gave me these codes to add to my FAN account. I also told them that I wanted to drop the 200 SMS for $5.00 plan and add the TMS4 for 1500 messages for $8.99 and they did it without asking anything.

The key seems to be removing the old code before applying the new one.

I did try BM350 again for kicks and the rep told me that not all codes were valid for iPhone plans and that my 20% FAN discount didn't either. I call BS since that doesn't make sense to me, but whatever, I got the codes applied. I will just have to see what my discount comes out to be on my bill.

if you decide to call back and try again, just keep it simple and when they ask what they can help you with, just say "I have a feature code I want to add to my account" and then they should ask you what the code is and what it's for. then just tell them it's for 1500 text messages for $8.99. if they turn around and tell you 1500 messages cost $15 like they did me, just say yes you know, but the purpose of this code is to give a discounted rate since you are a premier member (assuming you have a FAN attached to your account for a monthly service discount).

if they say it's incompatible or whatever, just say you have some coworkers with your same phone and plan that have it, and they said they had to have their current SMS plan removed and then have the feature coded added to the account and that it is in fact valid. the guy told me that the iphone wasnt valid and I said I knew that, but the new iphone 3G (which is what I had) was now using a standard smartphone plan so it was valid.

I really have no clue why we have to go through so much hassle just to use a promotional code that AT&T itself offers, but sadly we do. Maybe it's just instilled in them to not give discounts to anyone unless it's a last resort?

Well I tried the U200 code today without success

ATT Business Rep 1:

Very nice lady eager to help.
She states that the code cannot be found in her system.

ATT Business Rep 2:

Male, puts me on hold to research the code, then comes back and tell me the code is old and is now expired, and to contact my HR dept, for any listed new ones.

Got similar Rep 2. didn't work for u200 or tms4.
Called later to add $5 sms plan since I need it. and added the cmg5 for the bonus 50min free, no prob. he even said he's never seen that cmg5 code before.

Update update!!

I was able to call and get the 4.99 200 SMS with the unlimited ATT M2M text for 5.00. I had called 3 times for this and the CSR was very nice and said it was still on my account, but it had an expiration date on it.

He took off the expiration date and reapplied, while I had him on the phone I checked my account and the changes were all ready there!!

I need this more so than 1500 SMS for 8.99 because nearly 100% of my texts are to ATT customers.

MSG200$4.99+M2M$5 $9.99

That is how it appears on my bill.

Question: I was able to get this added, but just wanted to know that if it would eventually expire?

Worked for me

I just added the code to my 3g plan. First woman refused to add it, second girl added it with no problem. Call and be nice directly ask for tms4 and they will add it no problem.

Can we confirm if the U200 code is still being added as of July 17th after 5pm EST for the EAST coast region?

I tried going online and emailing them but they wrote back saying they couldn't add it and that I had to call and speak to their "business service center" I may call tomorrow and see if I can add it over the telephone.

I successfully added this code at 645pm eastern time this evening. After multiple calls, I believe the CSR's have some sort of valid code sheet they refer to and if the code isn't on there, they are instructed to say it's expirerd. You've got to find a CSR that doesn't check for see whether or not the code is expired.

One thing that is new today, the features she added today on another line now list an expiration date. The CMG5 code for 50 free minutes shows it expires after 1 month. the U200 code shows good for 1 year. When I added these codes earlier in the week, there is still no expiration date associated with either of them for my other line.

where do you see the expiration date?

Here is what the Minutes tab and the Data tab look like in my AT&T online account after adding U200 and TMS4 a couple of days ago.

If you check my previous post on this thread I noted that I had asked the CSR to remove the 200 texts for $5 dollars before adding the 1500 for $8.99 but as there are so many new accounts on AT&T this week their data usage reports are really backed up and it is definitely NOT up to date. The red bar with 1 of 0 there is a MMS message that my girlfriend sent me and I'm assuming you indeed have to pay per use on those. I have sent about 150 text messages since I got my 3G and what is worrying me is that they going to show up on the 0 of 200 instead of the 0 of 1500 when they finally get everything updated on my account. ;/ I can only hope for the best at this point.

***UPDATE***

As I thought would happen the first 11 of my text messages were posted under the 200 instead of the 1500. What I plan on doing is waiting until everything is updated the most current progress and then call AT&T to have all my texts put on the 1500 and the 200 removed. ;/
