I've had several B2B test message codes on my account over the years, it does NOT mean it only counts for messages send to other business accounts, it's for ANY text message you send/receive. How would they know? I get text messages from my servers at work and technically those are "Business", but the source isn't from a "Business" account.

The way it was explained to me was that the "Business" texts are considered AT&T to AT&T texts. They can easily track which texts are in network and which are out. I'm not defending this idea, I certainly hope it is wrong.

There is no way that they can assume that one branch of a particular business is going to use the same network (for example, IT for a bank at one branch may use ATT, while another branch across the country may use Sprint). There is no way that they can guarantee that both business accounts must be on the same network.

I was told them same thing when I first added it. The rep (and her manager) did a little further investigation and told me that they were wrong and I could send and receive texts from everyone without being charged anything (unless, of course, I exceeded 1500 per month).

My brother, father and mother all on Verizon. I have texted them regularly without being charged a penny.

I understand you don't want to blindly believe a bunch of internet forum posts, but certainly you could have approached this with more tact.

Lets end the discussion on whether its B2B texting only or not. It is texting to anyone on any network. You have to be a B2B customer to have it though which means have a FAN. B2B is a standard term for Business to Business such as B2B sales, B2B marketing and so on.

This does not mean B2B only texting.... It is also 3 cents for overage messages which is really good over 1500.

Next off U200 is expired but can still be added. The reps can bypass it so if they say its expired it is just try again. The reps are not lieing as much as we think.

I tried NAP1 but they said it was not recognized

can't complain about 200 free texts and 200 extra mins per month

1st rep told me i can't just call with a code and expect a discount, really quite condescending considering how polite i was with her.

2nd rep used a "if one domino pizza shop issues a coupon, another one can't validate it"...so I'm not sure who the call now..

she did recommend that i call the premier customer service number.. How did you guys proceed?

go to a dominos get a coupon go to another dominos use it and bitch until they let you use it get a receipt and shove it in the 2nd reps face

When you get your University email account, go to this link:

http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/premier/

.....and enter your school email address in the box with "Qualify For Discounts" across the top with a space for your email address. Then just follow the instructions from there. If your school has an agreement with AT&T (almost all of them do) then you will get an email to your University email account which enables you to sign up for Premier. You can set up your Premier account and buy a phone online, or you can at the very least determine what the various discounts are for your particular Premier agreement.
 
Just got U200 added (finally) :D

This took >10 phone calls.

I got TMS4 and CLL2 added at a prior phone call earlier this week.

Spoke to a very pleasant female that sounded U.S. based

Not sure if getting connected to one of the out-sourced CSRs makes a difference.

I really do think calling evenings/late does help

She tried BM350 for me as well but said it was expired.

I was about to give up on U200, so keep trying, it's really a matter of the right person at the right time (see above).
 
so which codes for bonus minutes still have a good chance of being applied besides u200?

I'm guessing the BMxxx codes are much harder to apply.

I don't think there are valid bonus minute codes besides u200 at the moment (Well at least known).
 
I got airrm50 successfully added today for 50 bonus minutes.

I'll try bm350 next week. :)

actually, I'm probably done. calling so often is pretty risky and I do not want my account flagged. it was fun while it lasted!
I'm at a grand total of 700...lucky number seven.
 
I just tried to apply TMS4 (10:45 Pst, 12:45 cst) and was informed by the CSR that since I have the iPhone 3G that I would have to use the iPhone text plan (which everyone knows is BS). I even explained to her that it would work if she took my current text plan off and applied the TMS4. She informed me again that it would not work because I need the iPhone text plan. Oh well, I'll try again in a few days.

Question: Has anyone had CLL2 applied that is not through a university?


P.S. The CSR seemed to know of the code and was ready to apply it, but for some reason wouldn't?

I have but it seems this one too is almost dead. According to someone on Slickdeals they are becoming suspicious of people adding sit due to "an unusual amount of people calling about it."

A email was distributed a bit ago telling reps not to add the feature any more. Seems some reps are paying attention and some are not YMMV but this one is soon to be dead.

With three high profile forums (MR, Howard and SlickDeals) circulating these codes it's only a matter of time.

Well read the SD thread and you'll see why. The non tech savy types keep bombarding at&t trying to get codes put on their non FAN accounts. When rejected, they start screaming "that's not fair, I'm going to file a report with the BBB".

My favorite replies are similar to "I just called 20 times and they said no. My brother called and they rejected him too. This deal isn't for real. OH, what's a FAN?"

Nope. I added a line to my account a few weeks ago and asked the rep about it, he told me I'd have to call Business Services to have the codes added. I was lucky enough to get both codes on both my lines the first try.

Remember these codes are for some fans doesnt mean all fans. Most of the bonus minute codes were for Blue migration and it just so happens that the business reps ahve the authority to add it doesnt mean we should get it as FAN customers. Reason normal no FANs dont get it is there reps arent business reps and cant add them. Retentions can add it for them if they got them to add it which is unlikly. CLL2 is for very very few schools and just so happens works for many people. Really comes down to reps. 99% of all of use do not deserve nor do we warrent any of these bonuses. I have my sharetrust me and probibly have more bonuses than anyone here but its true I dont deserve them either so if we get them we get them if not we dont but its not being ruined since we arent supposed to have them.

If your FAN is allowed them they can check the contract and WILL I repeat WILL issue them to you for sure!!!! But thats about 1% and 0.5% for bonus minutes
