Many people on this thread and other ones like SD, FW, HW are getting reps and when they say no are not accepting and just trying again later they argue, say yes it valid, yes it can be added and push push push thats when it goes to far. Hang up try again you will get a rep to do it.... Yes they add it that's there fault but if someone is argumentative that's also the callers fault. Come on common sense Emaja, we know some codes work and just try again that's the point. I know how to get the codes added so please if your not acting like this then im not referring to you in any way shape or form but now I don't know since you took offense to a general statement. Moving on.........

No, I didn't take offense at what you said, but I will stick to my point. Even if a customer calls again and again and if argumentative, it is still the rep's responsibility to know their job. If they do not, then it is on them if they get fired no matter how belligerent a customer gets.

At any job in the world, if you do something you are not supposed to do, you are held responsible and no one else.

We get thrown to the same place. the only thing we do is keep calling until we talk to someone who knows what they are talking about and can get it added. I've had more success with calling late at night (read: after 11pm PST/PDT), so YMMV.

what code are you trying to apply? if you really need the bonus features, then keep calling for another rep. but be warned, you are risking getting your account noted! and the code might even fall off later.

there needs to be a sticky/wiki for this thread so these questions don't pop up again every now and then.
 
Scratch that previous post. I called back and got a very nice lady who searched and was able to add it after a few tries. No bonus stuff for me really, just added TMS4 1500 to drop my bill a few bucks :)

I personally edited it with alive and dead codes. If your not sure feel free to ask and we will tell u either in forum or in PVT if its worth trying a code.

Vega07 knows a lot about the codes too.

Keep in mind all the codes for the most part are expired and you will find many reps dont say that they just say its not valid. They arent telling you a tale everytime to get them added reps bypass the expired screen and add it. Not all the time but is in most cases....

I don't have a FAN or a premium account, just a regular ol' 3G phone plan. Am I correct that this means I cannot put the TMS4 1500 SMS on my plan for $8.99 a month, but that I can put the TMA6 1000 SMS on my plan for $9.99 a month?

I'm new to the special codes game!

I just wanted to let everyone know how I got u200 on my account after being told that it doesn't exist like 20 times. I had already added the 1500 text messages with code TMS4 last billing cycle. so I recently got my att bill and i was over my minutes by like 160. They were trying to charge me like $80 for going over. so i called late at night and explained to the customer service representative "i don't understand why i got charged cause i added both of the premier codes at the same time." he looks at my account and says that he only sees the text messages. I tell him "why would i have added only one and not the other. and that i wouldn't have used all those minutes if i knew that i didn't have them" Then he adds u200 for me no questions asked and then reverses the overages charges. Tight. maybe this will work for you to.
 
Glad to hear you got it added. Looks like you got a good rep willing to add it know not to add it so congrats. Most people aren't going over so may not be able to use this but hey if anyone did they can try.

Be careful when you try it since most reps will check notes so try to know what notes are on there since that will help you know what to say.

Here are some truths about the U200 and all bonus minutes codes:

1) Are they expired? YES
2) Are we supposed to have them as FAN accounts? NO
3) Are they able to be added by most reps? YES
4) Are reps bypassing an expired code message to add them? YES
5) Can I stack bonus minute codes? Yes, but be careful many reps pull all codes since were not supposed to have them so just be careful.
6) Can codes drop off after or during a bill cycle? Yes, they are sweeping the system regularly and if it is caught will drop off.
7) Can it be re-added? Yes, but it still will most likely drop again next time as in Vega07's case.
8) Are TMS4 and TMS3 valid texting plans for FAN accounts? Yes, and can be added no problem, if rep says no call back.
9) DO I need a FAN account to add these codes? Yes, in 99% of the time you do.

I do not think it will for a few reasons...

1) This I think this would be a FAN code too since 99% of them are. This is not better than the 1500 for 8.99 SMS althought alot say so. This includes 1000 SMS and MMS for 9.99 thats why u get less.

You will never be sure so if you want to be sure the only answer I can give is forget about it and move on...

If you want to try like everyone else and see go for it...

But the TMA6 1000 SMS for $9.99 a month will work with a non-FAN account? If I'm going to call and try this, I want to be confident that it should work when I talk to the CSR!
 
TMS4 Grandfathered?

Well I just got off the phone with Business customer care and the rep told me the code (TMS4) was Grandfathered? That it was an old code and would not work. Weird, I said exactly what sharkzfanz told me to say, the rep said she would try the code anyways and when she tried it didn't work.

Kind of funny though, I got the vibe that she almost didn't want to try...
Oh well, I'll try again tonight.
 
Yeah she may not have even tried lol. I know there good since I have been told about the plans without quoting a code or plan. Ive said I have the 1500 for 8.99 is there any other B2B plans. They tell me everytime after checking yes theres 250 for 3.99 and thats all. so its there if they look. The reps are scared ******** in somecases about codes with the bonus crap lol so this legit code is lost in that.

Use the same line.. It will work... I could call up daily and get these added to accts its that easy but it comes down to what you say and also how you say it. That I cant project so try your best. PVT me if need me ill see what I can do. Id be willing to give it a whirl for you but that takes last 4 of soc and phone number and name dont think u wanna do that hehe.

Good Job getting them added. Everyone knows not to mention the forum at all you always say I got it from work, HR, IT department, ext.... Congrats on yours.

Just wanted to post and say I got the U200 code to work! Called 611 and got a VERY VERY nice lady on the phone. Told her I was calling in to add bonus minutes to my account and she said she didn't have access to any codes. I told her I actually had one and gave it to her. She typed it in and browsed for about 10 seconds and said, "oh there it is, bonus 200 minutes." She updated my account and voila! 200 more minutes! YES!

I also called yesterday about an issue and then brought up the U200 code at the end and the lady flat out said the code isn't valid, hasn't been valid and it's just a code that's floating around on the internet. I then asked about TMS3 (250 text/3.99) and she checked and added that one for me no problem (don't text much so 250 is perfect for me).

So for people who are still trying, U200 definitely still works. :D
 
iPhone 3G ineligible for TMS4...

Well, 3rd time wasn't a charm I guess. Just a little after 11 PM PST, spoke to a CSR and instructed her that I would like to remove my current text plan and replace it with the "Business 1500 SMS plan" (TMS4). I then proceeded with "if you like I have the code if that helps you look it up." She asked for the code, and I gave it to her. Well, then her tone changed and she asked where I got the code from. I told her, from my HR department. After all that, she told me that I was ineligible for the code as I had an iPhone and I needed an iPhone text plan. I didn't want to argue, so I thanked her and hung up.


Now, I'm getting a little frustrated as this is the third time that I have called and been denied. I'm almost thinking about biting the bullet and paying the $15.00 each month. I mean, what am I doing that others are doing correctly? Or is it just luck of the draw? Suggestions?

To the previous poster - I think it's just luck of the draw honestly on which CSR you get on the phone. Some are really not willing to work with you... others can be really accommodating. From what you wrote, it sounds like you're saying the right thing. I would suggest that you just keep trying your luck!!
 
Okay. Just got my iPhone today... I didn't add any text plan on purpose so I could add the TMS4.

I called 611 and told the woman that telecom told me to add a feature code to my account. She asked for my info.. and then she asked what the code was. I told her "TMS4" and she said "alright..." then she said "Looks like it's 1500 texts for $8.99" and I was like "Yes, that's it" Then she said she added it and all I had to do was turn my phone on and off and it'll work.

I'm not sure it went through though b/c I see nothing different on my online account. How long does it take to show and where does it show it?

TMS3 works for AT&T? and you actually get 250 texts for less than the price of 200 texts?

Fireshot, yes they do. I have the U200 (Free 200 minutes), CLL2 (Free 200 SMS), and TMS3 (250 SMS for $3.99) on my account with 20% off FAN account.
