Sweeeeet. ok just treated myself to the 16gb White iPhone 3G! Woot. I love it so far.

Anyway, I went to my local AT&T store and they were sold out of all 8gb's and didn't have the 16 in white available, only black.

so I actually ended up buying this at Best Buy :eek: So yeah, when the guy was going over what I wanted, I told him to leave the text messaging off. etc etc etc.

Got home, called AT&T, got a REALLY nice guy on the phone and told him I wanted to add some feature codes. I gave him the CLL2 code and bam, NO hassle this time at all.

so right now I have U200 and CLL2 on my account. (200 free minutes, 200 free texts).

How did you get 20% discount? the guy told me my discount was 15% :)

Is your FAN for a college or University? If so CLL2 will drop... 99% chance it will drop in next 35 days so check you account atleast after next bill posts. If it is a college or univ fan check too it will drop 50% of the time. Just a heads up.

BTW the FANs are different for all places I have coke which is 28% the other guy has fan for 20%.... 15-20 are most common.

Great thread -- thanks for all of the info so far!

One question that I've seen asked, but I have not seen a definitive answer for is:

I have a Family Plan with two phones. One is an iPhone and the other is a regular LG phone. If I add TMS3 (250 SMS for $3.99) to my plan, will it cover both phones or only one of them? And if it did cover both phones, would it be 250 SMS shared between the two, or would each phone get 250 SMS per month?

Only one. Some people have had success adding it to both, but some only to the primary. See how far you get with the agent on the phone.


On another note, let the SlickDeals thread die. The audience is too wide and most users there have half a clue about FAN accounts. AT&T then gets flooded with requests, red flags rise and it ruins it for the rest of us. If they don't get the discount 'they deserve', they complain to the BBB, at&t corp, etc. Just my opinion.

Yah my FAN account is linked through my College that I went to. so you're pretty positive that they will drop the texting? Should I just add the TMS3 option now? Does that drop as well?
 
Unfortunitly this deal is so far dead killing the slickdeals one is not going to help.

On the other side that would not be fair as keeping it only on an Iphone forum is not fair since its not for iphone users only.

And finally if you ill slickdeals you need to kill: HowardForums, Fat Wallet, Crackberry, an so on and so on. There more than just two and thats why it gets flooded and flaged. No way to end it just be happy when you get something.

TMS3 is offically per line. It can be added no problem to all lines and if a rep says no just ask for a supervisor. Nothing wrong paying for a feature. If you have bonus codes already dont ask for a super since they may remove some. Just call back.

couple of questions - how do i know that these have been added? Can i check somewhere? Also, when i log in, i can see the FAN code on the top of the page - does that mean that my FAN discount has been applied?

I tried a couple of the aforementioned codes on the previous pages, and so far:

TMS3 did not work (the lady said that it could not be added without having some other features/codes on there or something along those lines)

U200 did work (she said she added it)

I am going to try CLL2 and see how that works out.

NOTE TO ALL

If you add CLL2 check OLAM after next bill. If you dont have a college or university FAN it falls off 95% of the time and it falls off 50% of the time with a college or university FAN.
 
Just a heads up on the U200:

It may or may not work because it's for people migrating from the old AT&T Wireless.

hi all, I'm wondering if you can help me figure out what my bill would be.
Current set up:
my wife is the primary account holder
we have a family plan, 450 min for 39.99. My phone is the 9.99 add a line number

I just lost my phone, but am eligible to upgrade..of course I am getting 3g Iphone!

After reading this thread, I checked and I am eligible for a 15% discount through my school FAN.
Questions:
1) Will the 15% apply to the entire bill (39.99) or just my line (9.99)?
2) When the data charge is added on, does the 15% discount apply to that as well?
3) I'm assuming I can add the text messaging TMS that I want (250 texts) to both lines?
4) Do I need to wait until I buy the iphone to add the FAN discount? From previous posts it looks like that is the case, but I'm not sure if that was changed
5) Is there anything else I should know before going to get my iphone in regards to this stuff?

Thanks all for your help. Already this thread has made biting the 30 data charge hopefully a little easier to stomach (assuming I can add everything on).

What this guy said. I had checked my account after the billing cycle and sure enough my CLL2 fell off. I had a work FAN so....
 
Thanks! Good thing is it doesn't matter since its applied to the new accounts and reps dont know what its for if you can get a rep that will add it your in business.

Discount will only apply to the primary line. If you do not already get a discount on your account add it to the main line # when you verify and your all set. Thats 15% off the $39.99 not your line.

On most Fans the 15% would apply to the Iphone 3g data but again not if you are a secondary share line. Would have tje have the iphone on the main line.

TMS3 is 250 per line its added on so if you want 250 sms per line then add TMS3 to each line and pay $3.99 per line.

Adding the FAN after you buy is if you buy the phone from an Apple Store and maybe BestBuy im not sure. If you buy from ATT or ATT's premier store then you can add it first then buy it. Again if you buy from Apple or Bestbuy wait and add it after.

Nope thats it. If you want the Iphone just go get it. Everything can be done afterwards.

Okay, a couple of questions. I have only one iPhone 3G, and I switched to AT&T just to get an iPhone 3G. I don't have any business discounts, and I am not in college. I already have 200 SMS Text Messages that I pay an additional $5.00 a month for.

Would any of these codes work for me, and if so, which ones? Thanks for any information.

I think you need to have a premier account, (to check, go to your Online Account Management and check if you have a FAN number located on the upper right)



Now with regards to my side, I just tried calling, at around 2AM PDT and talked to two reps at a 10 min interval, both of them said no to the TMS3 (SMS 250 for $3.99). The first lady placed me on hold and researched, then said it can't be added because of my employment contract while the second guy just said it won't work blatantly. What's the percentage of successfully adding this TMS3 on a FAN account? Mine so far no luck. Any tips? Or is it just try and try till you get it?
 
Finally, after numerous tries over the past two months, I got U200 added to my account! I called this morning at 6:30am EDT, and the rep. added it to my account after asking me where I heard about it. I told him I received an email from my HR department.

I'm wondering if it is possible to switch my phone to the primary number? is there a way to get the data plan associated with the primary number instead of my number (ie some sort of switching of the sim cards or something?) she just got a new phone this summer and I think it has 3g (at least there's a 3g icon in the upper corner). so perhaps the data plan can be associated with her line and we just swap phone numbers and sim cards?
 
No idea.... on switching to primary but if you want data it needs to be tied to the line that the phone is on that you want data on. If its Iphone then that line needs the data....

Keep calling for TMS3 youll get it.. Just be persistant!!

You need a FAN to get any codes so check if you can get one.
