IT WORKS! And you do not need a FAN on your account to do so. All I said was my IT department of my university gave me this as a feature code since the iPhone 3G cannot use a fan discount (it is because my iphone is my primary)

They said it didn't apply to my account since we weren't on the right company. I called twice. Apparently, my mom's company doesn't offer any text discounts. :(

Well I just called and the representative told me the "TMS4" code was an expired code from 2006. She said the code was for text messages only; no video or picture messaging. She also said no iphone features received a discount.
The plan I am on is a FAN # as well.

iPhone 3G's will receive discounts as applied by FAN accounts even when they are the Primary numbers now..

I just called to apply my FAN discount. I also tried for the text discounts mentioned here and was told the iPhone did not qualify for either the B2B1500 or the TMS4.

I don't know if it is because my company does not qualify (I get a 10% discount on the voice plan), if the iPhone 3G does not qualify, or if she just didn't know what she was doing. I'll try again later to confirm.

Just added TMS4 to my iPhone 3G service plan. Did call earlier this week and was told I couldn't apply it to the old iPhone and to call back when I get my new one. Just checked my account now and it shows up
Text Msging 1500 B2B $8.99

Just got off the phone with a great Business Care Specialist in Oklahoma and IT WORKED, she put me on hold for a few minutes while she verified some information. She stated that she was removing the 1500 for 15.00 and adding the 1500 for 8.99. You guys all ROCK! Thanks for the information and saving more money each month!!!:D

they wont ask you where you got the code but if they do, tell then that your employer's HR department gave you the info and that your colleagues have this as well.

I dont know if your on a premier plan or not. The simplest way to find out is call at&t and when you punch in your number, you should heard, "You've reached Business Customer Care..."

yea when i signed up i gave them my discount pin number whatever you wanna call it. and when i call i get trasnfered to business care.

is there anyway you can check when you sign in online to do this? or do i have to call?

I was told this was only for messages sent between business customers...

Not 100% sure, just what the rep informed me of when I added it.

Well I must not be saying the right thing. I called for a second time and this time they told me that my telecom manager had to call in and add the promo code in order to get the $8.99.

What are you guys saying or doing in order to get the code to work?

Thanks.

yesss

thank you macrumors members. text messaging was one of the big things i was worried about, but thanks to yall i now have the tms4 plan !!!!! i called the lady told me she couldnt do it b/c i already had a data plan? i asked her why that was interfering, she stated b/c the data plan has text already, i told her not on 3g etc..... but she finally saw my 200 for $5 removed it added this now im golden. once again this works and thanks to all :):):):):)

This for the family plan or only individual plans?

AS in can I add it once for the whole family or does it have to be added per line in a family plan?

Any cheaper ideas for the family plan?

I got a call back from AT&T to finally fix the port on our 2nd number (2 iphone family plan) - actually she called asking for someone named Elmer because the stupid at&t people from yesterday were trying to port it to the wrong account or something... anyway she got the port straightened out then I asked her for the text plan. I was away from the computer and couldn't remember the code (I think I said b2b1500) then I mentioned TMS4. One way or another she was able to find it and she dropped the $30 unlimited text from our plan and added the $8.99 for 1500 to each of our two lines. w00t!

like I said before, be persistent. You just have to talk to the right person.

This really does work, I have had it for a few months on my original iPhone. I also have 350 bonus minutes per month and discounted international rates thanks to codes like these.

I have tried two different times and I still can't get the texting plan put on. What do I need to tell them? Obviously I am not saying the right thing.

Thanks.

are you a premier member ? I honestly dont remember SOC code working on a non premier account but I could be wrong.

Dont ask them, just tell them to add it.

"I need to add a SOC Code B2B1500 to my account. My HR department has given out this code so that we could take advantage of company text notifications."

The line about would work in a business environment

The primary account holder has a FAN# so I am assuming I would qualify.
The last time I called I told them the company gave us the codes. She told me that the Telecom manager from my company would have to call and setup the discount with the code.
She went on to tell me that she is not authorized to give the code. I told her how there were plenty of representatives who were able to authorize the code. She told me that those giving out the codes would be losing their jobs because they are not authorized to use the code.

Call late at night, I have had much better luck adding features then.

That doesn't make sense since you are the account holder and person paying the bill. Nobody else can call to ask for changes in your account but you.

if it was a corporate account, that's different. They pay the bill, it's in their name.

for my company, Att rep is saying that the code does not apply.

It says the code exist, but she is saying that each company has list of whats included or not.

and that is not included. :(
