Took some persistence, but got it waived. As an AT&T customer for over a decade, I couldn't imagine this being a problem.

Wow, all I did was ask and got a $45.96 credit. Thanks for this thread.

I got 42.40 credited yay

Talk to someone else and say you've been with them for 5 years. Someone will do it. Works for me everytime. Just have to talk to the right person.

Thanks called them again and gave me the remaining charge credited. ThNks brah

Me too. Did it over chat. I just asked very nicely, mentioned customer since original iphone. After she made me wait while she chevked, she came back and said 1 time exception. I thanked her and said ATT is the best. She waited while I verified credit hit my account.

Got mine waived today just by asking. I think it probably helps if you have a clean payment record.

I want to share my horrible experiences with AT&T about waiving my upgrade fee.

I talked on online chat with AT&T about it after I pre-ordered my iP 6+. It took me maybe 30 mins to get it done.
I talked with 2 representatives, and the second person agreed to waive it for me. She said she already noted on my account.

Later on, I got a bill + $40 upgrade fee! I contacted AT&T again online. The first representative told me that they saw that note, but it's NOT a FULL NOTE. So it wasn't the promise that the fee will be waived.

I was shocked and of course angry! She refused to waive the fee for me even I told her my family and I are loyal AT&T customers for years.. But it didn't work

So I talked with the second representative online.. it took me A HOUR (yep 1 hour) to wait for her to talk with the manager.
But.. the result was terrible! She told me the exact same thing what the first representative told me "The note is not full note. We can't waive the fee for you"

I was upset and angry to AT&T. I thought about to return the phone and used my iP 5.

I tried again in the next morning. I got lucky enough this time, but it still took me at least 45 mins to make it done.

This third and last representative finally waived the fee for me, but it still wasn't easy.

WELL... AT&T, I HATE YOU! (But I'm still using it)

Talked to 2 people and a supervisor, they wouldn't waive it for me. They are also trying to tell me that TMobile throttles unlimited customers like ATT does, which they do not.

For the people who weren't able to get them waived, how long have you been AT&T customers? I'm wondering if there's some common thread here or if it's totally random and up to who you talk to.

Just be persistent... The first call got escalated to manager since the rep refused. Manager lied and said she can only give me 25 refund. I chatted again 2nd time and got it escalated to the manager again. Finally got the remaining 15 credited. Win

Just got mine removed. Took 2 reps today but they finally agreed to have both fees refunded on my account. The first one said his manager could only authorize 1 fee and not both. The second rep was able to get her manager to process both.

I've been waiting for the last of our fees to show up on our account before I try, but we have 5 people on our family plan upgrading. Has anyone had success getting that many fees waived?
