Don't forget the non existent and poor and customer service/support. They're more difficult to get in touch with and get things done compared to be on AT&T proper.

Can't be any worse than T-Mobile's worst-in-the-buisness customer service ;)

It's more like you get free internet on your iPad for 15 minutes each month until you burn through the 200MB of data :D. I'm not saying the 200MB / month isn't good but many people are over hyping it.

With all that EDGE out there, it's almost a month's worth of data! ;)

I'd be happy if at&t would get rid of hidden upgrade charges.. first they want to charge you a substidy for the phone monthly for the LIFE of the phone even beyond two years and they also charge you an equipment upgrade.. so they can say the phone is 99 dollars, then on top of that they bill you an extra 35 or so dollars in equipment upgrade... I personaly am tired of the games... If they want to play marketing games or play on words fine, they can do it with someone else I guess .

Shucks! Just switched to ATT two weeks ago from T-Mobile!

Had no issues with TMobile, voice was great, WiFi calling was great but their Data coverage sucked. I thought I could live with it as I already knew this from their coverage map. But I couldn't!

TMobile, other than these tricks... increase your coverage!

Call customer service and threaten to cancel and you should be able to get some if not all of that $200 switching credit.

going to wait to see what happens when T-Mobile announces their ETF reimbursement for switching to T-Mobile.

currently with AT&T now (all 3 lines in contract), I live in So Cal, been wanting to switch to T-Mobile.

If you have a family plan, you're crazy to go back to AT&T.
Before switching to T-Mo, my AT&T plan cost was $200 for 4 iPhones (2 with 200MB & 2 with 3GB).
My T-Mo plan is $120 and coverage is the same where I'm at.
If I switch back to a new AT&T plan, my monthly payment would be $250!! Before taxes & fees!!

A funny part was, when I was talking to AT&T customer retention, the call dropped and she never called back.

I tried this switch last year between April-May and their service was just god awful in SLC, UT. So bad in fact, I couldn't get decent data in 90+% of the locations I went within the SLC Valley.

I went from AT&T, T-Mobile to VZ. VZ also sucks.

I've heard terrible things about AT&T here too. I've only had Verizon, but once I upgraded my 4 to the 5s the LTE network filled in the few dead areas I had.

It's going to happen.

Overhyping or not, you do realize this is more than enough for browsing, checking emails, blogging, update your Facebook status or researching which is what the majority of the average consumer does right? Besides, name another company that offers the same or better. Exactly, none.

I'm in a similar situation. Switched from Verizon to t mobile to save money, but the coverage sucked. I miss calls constantly. Since I have 2 iPhones and 2 iPads, Verizon's family plan will only cost me about $40/month more, by getting the amount of data that I actually use, but at least I will be able to use my devices everywhere.

The breaking point for me was.. one day I left the city by 2 miles and was looking for an address and my phone was on EDGE network and couldn't pull up any info worth a crap. The whole point of owning a smartphone became moot at that point.

So I had to switch.... the choice was Verizon or ATT. I wasn't sure about Verizon and their CDMA stuff. So chose ATT ...

Uncarrier Moves Make Me Happy

I absolutely love T-Mobile. I've only been a customer since early October, but they have already paid off in leaps and bounds. I spent the holidays in England and France, and the unlimited text and data ended up being a godsend. I had rented a car in France and to be able to use my Google Maps app on my iPhone 5S was awesome!

And although the original reason I switched was because I hated the slow data speeds on the Sprint network, the unexpected surprises have surely made me a T-Mobile fan for life! (And I also get a 15% discount for my place of employment).

Even if Sprint buys them, which I am sure seems very likely, perhaps that will allow Sprint to use the GSM network and keep the uncarrier plans!

Such a great experience with T-Mobile thus far!

:):):)

I think it's great but only for emergencies. There are many threads on the 200MB free iPad data from T-Mobile and the general opinion is that it doesn't last long at all. If you really want to use your iPad, you need a wireless connection or a real data plan.

The average customer watches netflix, streams youtube, checks Facebook, etc on a tablet. Even a few hours of casual web browsing put you way over the 200mb mark.

It's all marketing BS. 200mb is nothing.

Unless you understand that T-Mobile doesn't have an all EDGE network. People who live and work in T-Mobile-covered areas enjoy the fast network. Stop spewing BS about T-Mobile, oh wait, you're an AT&T/Verizon "apologist", as you mention.

If you ABSOLUTELY hate T-Mobile that badly, talk to the CEO of AT&T and Verizon and have them buy T-Mobile. There, no more driving force for the consumer and the wireless industry.

Honestly, who cares if T-Mobile is last in the J.D. survey, they don't survey all customers on the network and it's almost always biased on AT&T and Verizon.

If T-Mobile doesn't work out for you or someone else, leave. Stop spewing BS about how T-Mobile is "mediocre" or that they will fail. Your comments won't change the fact that T-Mobile is the power-house in the wireless industry, or kill T-Mobile.

Sometimes I laugh at your statements....

What a joke kid. Can't think of a better excuse than that? Bias? Seriously?

I'm sure if T-Mobile was rated first, you and the rest of the T-Mo crew would be foaming at the mouth and parading it around.

How is it biased? Just a few years ago, T-Mobile was near the top for customer service. Now they're a bottom feeder with Sprint.

Who cares? Is customer service not important anymore? Just because T-Mo has poor customer service, you're just gonna ignore it?

Yup. They're quite the powerhouse, for sure!

Largest 2G network footprint by far! Smaller "4G" HSPA networks than the big 2's LTE networks! That is so revolutionary, isn't it!?

Consistently one of the least reliable networks nationwide in almost every major city, as tested by RootMetrics (partner of T-Mobile FYI.) That is so revolutionary, isn't it!?

These are just BS statements right? Not facts!? ;)

Maybe I should clarify. It's an ocean of EDGE with a few islands (smallest 3G network in the business BTW) working, fast service.

There are no excuses in the world for T-Mobile to still have wholes of EDGE in major metro areas in 2014. I've personally witnessed these holes all over the Northeast.

Sometimes I laugh at your statements....
Your constant lack of technical knowledge is hilarious. You're the exact kind of person that T-Mobile loves. People who eat their marketing BS right up and preach it, like the bible.

Go on! Keep talking on about LTE-A and 2x20, especially when you have no idea what most of it actually means.

“We used AT&T’s cash to build a far superior network and added ‘un-carrier’ moves to take tons of their customers – and now they want to bribe them back,” Legere said. “I’m flattered that we have made them so uncomfortable!”

This is too funny! Personally use AT&T and love it! Switched to prepaid and now get the same service I had before for less money! I tried Tmobile 3 times over 2013 and it' still an overall horrible network! Tmobile will be very lucky if the customers that switched over remain with them and if they do it's only because they actually have service where they use their phones, wow! If you travel or go anywhere outside of the area you have service with Tmobile you are in for a surprise of spotty service and terrible signal fluctuation which is what I experienced with the iPhone5S. No thanks Tmobile! I will gladly consider giving you my business when you have a true competitive network, lets skip the maps BS!

agreed T-Mobile is now a valuable powerhouse. The amount of attention they are getting from AT&T and verzion is the proof.:D

streaming YouTube and Netflix will obviously put you over the limit rather quickly, that's why I didn't even mention that, those are tasks that will require a full data plan or just use wifi. But a few hours of casual web browsing, specially doing it occasionally when wifi is not available will not get you anywhere near 200mb, stating otherwise is dishonest bs. Tmobile gave me a reason to own cellular ipad vs the wifi only. I get more internet coverage for free.

That is cool to hear! But unfortunately since Sprint is the one buying Tmobile they will probably turn it into a useless CDMA network so you like most Tmobile users will be out of luck. Of course this will not happen overnight, it will take years. GSM networks lead the World, would be a nice idea if the Sprint Spectrum was instead used to enhance Tmobile's GSM network.

Go go T-Mobile, keep shaking things up. :D

Don't shake too much, you might loose your signal! Ahaha!

I would say VZW is right up there. There's a reason why they're the big 2.

While Sprint and T-Mobile have spent the last few years screwing around, VZW/AT&T kept investing billions into their networks and it shows. Their reliability is unmatched. They have more LTE than T-Mobile's HSPA network (5+ years in deployment FYI). And unlike T-Mobile, both of them have been focusing on improving their network everywhere, not just top metro markets. The only two carriers keeping up with the explosion in the smartphone market are AT&T and VZW. Simple as that.

What's the point of saving money, if your network never works? I could save almost $100 by switching my plan to TMo or Sprint, but will I? Nope. Once you get past the marketing hoopla, you're rewarded with run-down networks with false promises of improvement.

Wow! I couldn't have said this better myself! Couldn't agree with you more.

changing back to att in the coming week:D
Ahaha, good for you. Be sure to use the "Mark the Spot" app if it's available for your phone. You will love this app. No other carrier has something like this!
