Carrier AT&T iPhone 12 - Don't Have 5G as a Dropdown Option in Settings?

That's exactly why I didn't upgrade my plan. I have a great shared data plan with rollover minutes and there was no way I was going to give that up for a higher bill and only minor if any speed increase.
Good find and thanks for sharing! I hate dealing with AT&T but the offer the best service in my area so I’m stuck.

Good decision for now, will be a couple of years until 5G is really worth it.
Mine showed the 5G options for like a minute and then it was like “no 5G for you!” and they disappeared. (I don’t have a 5G plan so this was expected.)

I could be wrong but didn't they do the EXACT same thing when 4G and LTE were new and started relabeling their 3G speeds on iphone?

Here in Pasadena, I get 5G and when I went a few blocks away I got 5GE seems its sporadic.

They did, ha. Actually what’s funny is, if I’m driving through a rural area where I drop LTE, it tells me I’m on “4G”.

Mine has 5G and is working fine. Must be your plan. 5G isn't so bad by me either. Make sure you're on a new 5G plan

I was on an unlimited plan, and thought I had their highest tier plan. Not so. I had to switch to a different plan to get 5G access, and it saved us $10/per line to do so, and we actually get more service. They only offer 5G Access through 2 or 3 unlimited data plans.
I have the unlimited elite plan on my 12 pro using e-sim. I don't have the options in cellular data settings like I do on my T-Mobile phone where I can choose 5G only, etc. All I have is LTE and 4G in my settings.

I have unlimited elite and I don't have the options.
Update! I got mine to work. I went into my att and refreshed the signal to my phone, then turned it off and back on.

ATT is so crappy they didnt even offer it to me whos paying a truck load of money for their service.
I am on the unlimited elite plan and saw the 5g options also.
Little bit of backstory though, my phone, an upgrade was not activated, i called 611 using the same phone, asked for the activation hotline and activated the phone that way and it worked.
never swapped sim cards either.

If you haven't changed to the new unlimited plans in the last year or two, then you don't have it. The old unlimited plans don't have 5G.
