Im using the new sim card and no 5G. 😔
Same, I am using new SIM and no 5G - I’m saying would putting SIM from iPhone 11 fix it?

After an hour+ chatting and trying numerous things, the rep escalated the issue.

I bought the phone via Apple rather than AT&T if that makes any difference. One rep seemed to thing it did, but I’m not so sure now.

Did you try using SIM from old iPhone into new one ?

What exactly did they say?
that they understood that the phone didn't have 5G as an option but our resetting, etc did not solve the issue and that they did not know how to fix it. So they were escalating the problem. If it didn't get fixed (magically, I guess) I should call back next week.

If anyone with an e-sim gets it to work after speaking to an at&t rep please post.

Good thing we consumers are here to pay to help them test it all out. This 5G nonsense is probably trash anyways. That's why ATT has been able to get away with calling 5G for the past year.

iphone pro, unlimited elite, sim, unlocked from apple. No 5G

Welp, looks like we're in the same boat. I honestly wouldn't have thought about it without this thread, so thanks. I'll look at getting my parents to change our plan.

It's not like I'm happy about it. But I don't want to spend an hour on the phone with AT&T right now. So perhaps it's wishful thinking.

I'm definitely pointing the finger at both companies...apple and att. I doubt it's just random small group affected. Apple should have had this worked out before release. 5G is their big hero feature for this phone. It's probably a ******** feature anyway. You're going to end up paying ATT more for data unless they raise the caps.

I cringe when I see someone testing that golden spot on the street where they finally discover trace amounts of genuine 5G...then speed test the hell out of it and consume all that data. Money money money!! (says ATT)

OK I see now. You have to upgrade to the starter plan for $60/line (2 lines). 5G is then “suppose” to be included.

People seem to be having issues however.
