Just ordered a 512GB black titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max... and I wasn't gonna upgrade this year:rolleyes:

Update... made orders for the black 512GB iPhone 15 Pro Max, 3 times, cancelled three times. Just can't justify it.

I didn't get charged any taxes at checkout this morning... do they automatically charge the card on file?

AT&T has been down online for the first hour. Customer support is a no go either. Tried to upgrade through Apple directly but they can't retrieve my info from AT&T. You'd think they would have figured this out beforehand

....this is why I call AT&T Retention Department at 8:01 on launch day.

Not only don't their internal systems crash, but you get the very best agents who know how to type quickly.

Did the pre-preorder on Apple Store but it just didn't work, ordered on AT&T instead. 2x natural Ti 15PM. Will be trading in my 2x 13PM to apple directly for the gift card instead.

Issue with AT&T trade in deal is that you need to be on the $65/month plan. I'm using 4gb shared plan that's only $35 per line for 2 lines now. Good trade in deal if you have an older phone, but not a good deal for a 13PM trade in.

I’m seeing news reports that the 15 PM sold out in minutes. That must have only been certain models as I ordered a black 512 GB at 8:35 am Eastern and it’s delivering Sept 22.

Seems like they immediately went to Oct 4-9 when the store opened but in store pickup was available for a while

The AT&T website is offering $830 for trade-in credit. The AT&T deal on Apple only offers $800. Ordering through the AT&T website is the better deal.

I got $1000 credit. Also AT&T charges $30 more for the phone. Some kind of “connection charge” that’s separate from the activation charge.

First time going through AT&T for me. It went well. Relative to the launch time:

-12 min: AT&T app shows a banner to preorder the “iPhone 14 Pro”. Uh, OK. Selecting that produces a countdown timer.
- 5 min: Still a countdown timer.
- 3 min: App now shows a queue for preorder, slowly incrementing. “Hang on, you’re almost there.” “Less than a minute.” This is what Apple needs. I stayed with the app open.
-2 min: App lets me in. I paid off my 13 Pro yesterday to get that part out of the way. Selecting 15 Pro Max Natural and options goes smoothly. $1000 in bill credits plus trade in kit coming. Sept 22 delivery.

0 min: Complete.

+2 min: Confirmation email and text. Order status is active.

There appears to be a disparity in the mid-tier trade ins $830 vs 800 but not at the $1,000 level. It’s less than $1 per month difference.

For the marked up phones Apple is offering a $30 discount so the benefit seems to depend on which phone you’re getting and which phone you’re trading.

So great experience? Always on launch day? They ship by UPS? They require signature upon delivery?
AT&T has been great.

Always on launch day.

I've had them shipped FedEx and UPS (I get two iPhones every year and one year one was FedEx and one UPS)

Signature has been hit and miss. Last year FedEX left them on my porch.

Apple’s ship date for the Natural Pro Max is now in November. Ordered through AT&T which estimated September 22-October 6 ship date.

Does anyone have experience with pre-ordering through AT&T? Do they usually ship towards the beginning or the end of their estimated ship times?

Ordered the Natural Titanium Pro Max 512GB this morning when I got to work. Scheduled delivery is 9/22.

if you ordered through AT&T, it's typically added to your next bill
That is going to be a hefty bill then... 4 "activation fees" on top of taxes, on top of my regular $240 bill - OUCH! I always thought taxes on the full price were paid at time of purchase, I haven't upgraded since the 12's came out so maybe that has changed.
