I would say go to the store on release day or the day after to see if they have any left so you can get one from them and just cancel your pre order IF they have one ready for you that day

Thanks for this update. That seems to resolve the discrepancy with the $800-tier trades.
ESTIMATED in-store pick-up date at Best Buy for our iPhone 15 Pro Max 512GB in Natural Titanium on AT&T is 10/6. We pre-ordered last night on the website around 8pm CST.
I have an expected ship date of 9/22 to 10/6, but I just looked on Best Buy's website and it shows I can have it delivered on 9/26 and Walmart is showing 9/25 if I order it today. I wonder if there is still a chance that AT&T will be able to make these delivery times too. Or I'm better off cancelling and ordering from Walmart lol. I better just be patient and see what comes up Thursdayish!
I just called them, because I switched from Verizon to AT&T theres no chance I'll be able to get one in store on release day because my number is in process of being transferred.
He said last year for pre orders dates were pushed out until a day or so out when shipping notifications go out.

Seems things are definitely moving along . . . just checked my order (ordered from AT&T 15PM Blue 256gb at 10:59am EST on 9/15) which gave me a delivery date of 9/22 and status just changed to "Great news! We're just about ready to ship your order."
There's a few ways to check status, which one are you using? Mine status hasnt changed since I finished my order at 7:56 EST last Friday.
High key, if you ordered that early, and your ship date says 9.21, I wouldn't worry about anything.
10/13-10/27 for my order... I'm hoping something changes between now and Friday.
I ordered from local AT&T dealer on Saturday between 10:30-11:00AM EST. Chose the 15 pro max in natural titnaium 256gb.
Might be tough to get this week. Might wanna check in-store availability but i would imagine for Pro Max that will still be a mission. Especially depending on what area you're in.
Seems to not really mean anything but to your point...very annoying.

I'm thinking of ordering through AT&T because $800 trade-in for my 11 Pro Max is hard to beat.
Has anyone had any horror stories with ordering through the carrier? I have literally never bought my phone through the carrier since 2010, and wonder if I should be wary.
If you decide to pay off the phone early so you can unlock it, does that impact the trade-in value?

If you have a certain type of FedEx account that alerts you when packages are coming they will already show you where your phone is
I haven't personally but I've heard to try to do the trade-in at a store vs shipping because phones get lost and AT&T is very hard to refund/honor the trade in.
What kind of account would that be because I have an account with them and I’ve seen nothing?

They can't reserve phones for new lines only. That just helps their sales, thats why theyre telling you that. Just a heads up.
So should I go in? I called the associate who I bought from, my number is being transferred from Verizon and he sai that picking up in store may cause issues or simply not able to be done.
