Do you have an existing AT&T post paid cellular account? If not they need to verify your Identity. That's why they want you to scan your valid form of ID and send it to them. It prevents fraud.

These deals are always listed for 30 days. Since it was announced September 10th it is due to expire on on October 10th. Here is the official announcement link: https://about.att.com/story/2024/iphone-16-lineup.html

Is it likely to be extended? Yes since they are competing for customers with Verizon and T-Mobile. Is there any guarantee no.

Yes, I have unlimited Starter Plan with 3 lines for years. Did you do trade in and ATT did not ask you for ID photo

Question: with an estimated ship date of October 21st (I know it may be sooner) does that mean I’ll more than likely get it the following day? I’ve never not ordered right when preorders opened so I didn’t know if it’s overnight shipping or what.

OK very odd are you ordering while you are signed into your AT&T account or just going through the AT&T Online store?

I always order from within my AT&T account on the Web or My AT&T app on my iPhone. No request to send a scan of my ID since the early 90s when AT&T first started selling via the Web.

From time to time I am asked for ID at an AT&T store if I want changes to the Account. It is just to confirm you are the Primary user or an Authorized user on the Account.

Yes it will ship from one of the AT&T Distribution Centers via Next Day delivery (Overnight) using UPS or FedEx as soon as they receive inventory from Apple that matches your order.

I did a trade-in only (no purchase new iphone) and then canceled it. I then purchased iphone 16PM with trade in. maybe I did multiple transactions that could trigger this ID verification

Keep seeing adds from Apple for the iPhone 16 maybe they should just focus on making the product and get shipments out. Just irritating to see lots of adds for a product they can’t ship. Rant over. Haha

Sorry but it happens every year. Do you want to return it to AT&T? Have Apple start an Express return and send you a Warranty replacement?

Apple Stores will not be helpful in your situation. And your local AT&T stores have Zero stock at this point.

Possible since it is likely you used the same 10 digit phone number and email address. You might have raised a flag in the system.

On the phone with AT&T for a warranty replacement -- even though I haven't had it more than 2 days.
 
AT&T sending out emails to rate a product that’s back ordered over a month out. They gotta get it together 🤣🤣

Not for those of us that ordered on September 13 at 7:42 AM ET. AT&T beat Apple again this year in opening online sales. I had my order confirmation email at 7:44 AM ET.

I got both of my units on Launch day before Noon. The back-order situation is for Apple to address in their JIT supply chain. Customer have been ordering and getting next day deliveries on select configurations.

The only one that had that cardboard insert was the one on the next program. The trade-in didn't

Well you might want to reconsider that again since both of mine are trade-in units and both have the cardboard inserts with the plastic sleeve for the iPhone. Did you delivery come from Ft Worth both of mine were shipped from there?

The Next program box was the one with the insert. Yes....both came from Ft. Worth. The Next label goes to Flower Mound, and I do have a label for Tennessee for the trade-in. I will probably just wrap up the trade in with bubble wrap.

So it would appear that this is a case of your mileage may vary. Both of my boxes have labels for Mt. Juliet, TN.
