i am referring to the AT+T store you ordered your DF from.

I live in Louisville, KY and they have gotten shipments of phones at the particular store I ordered from almost everyday. How many they are getting a day I don't know.
I went into the store today and they said they were expecting shipments today and tomorrow. He didn't know if they were delivering on Saturday (which, apparently, they should), but if they do, they will again be receiving a shipment that day as well.
Keeping my fingers crossed for either of those days!

I was under the impression that your card wouldn't be charged until the order as shipped? Anyway, AmEx could sort that out for you, assuming you have/paid with it.

This is not true. They actually charged my card that day, i saw it come out of my account.

I just looked at the order status page and it shows that my Iphone (16GB Black) shipped out earlier today! Just something I thought was interesting. It shows that it was shipped early this afternoon but yet until about an hour ago it said it was out of stock. :D

DF - AT&T speak for "bend over and get ready for your direct fulfillment!" :(
Order status has just been updated, and, to no ones surprise, some people who ordered on the
12th are being shipped while others who ordered on the 11th are still back ordered. At least they're shipping!

I know everyone wants their phone, but AT&T did what they said in my case. I called a local store on Saturday as I was not going to do the whole Apple store lines. The local AT&T store confirmed they had no phones in stock, but that I could do a DF order. Went to the store later that day, no lines at all and did the DF order. I was told 5-7 days and they reminded me they used business days not cal days. Order was in about 2pm eastern on Saturday. Didn't get an email or see anything on the AT&T site until Sunday. I had to use my work phone number and store zip Sunday as the order number wouldn't work. Someone on this forum gave me that tip :) Email confirmation was received Sunday night around 11pm. Order has done the backorder, not backorder flip several times. Checked the iphoneconvert site and I was 33-35 last night and 25 around 4pm today. Just checked the AT&T site and it now shows my phone as shipping and FedEx shows the pickup at about 3pm. Should be here in NC sometime around 3pm tomorrow. They said 5-7 business days and if it really arrives tomorrow it would have been 5 business days. I ordered a 16Gb white phone if anyone is keeping track.

I never received a backorder email, just the first confirmation I'd ordered the phone. Have not received a shipping email yet, and don't know that I will. The iphoneconvert site is really slow, so I can't check my status on that site. Will hope the AT&T site is correct and my phone will arrive tomorrow. I wouldn't worry about your phone until the 5-7 business day window was over. Easy to say, hard to do:eek:

Hmm That site is interesting. Its showing that no one before me shipped today, but yet a bunch of people after me shipped. I was **692, and others that have shipped were **702-**715. I wonder whats up with that! lol I'll have to keep checking that site though! Thanks for the info

What is the link to the iphonecovert being talked about? I went to iphoneconvert.com assuming thats what it is, I dont see order status there?? Hope you can give a link. Thanks.

And I Thought I Was Crazy

You don't know how happy I am to see everyone else in the same boat. I've been watching my status alternate between backorder and not, and it's been driving me crazy! Either the phone is in stock and available for me or not, right?

My buddy, who got his at a local Apple store at about 10 PM opening day made a good point. Perhaps AT&T's system shows backorder = yes when they are out of stock and backorder = no when they are fulfilling orders. Still grumble.

I would have been hosed if I had waited in line at Apple because I have a corp discount on my AT&T account. So I am glad that we didn't wait out in the heat or write my babysitter a blank check.

The AT&T guy said not to worry about a valid email address for the status email, either, because he will just call us when it comes in. I believe that he will (mainly because I call at least once a day). It would have been nice to get the email telling me that I will get to practice my patience, though.

I echo the sentiment that I don't really care if I get my phone this weekend or next. I just want to know. I'm really (truly) happy for Apple and AT&T that they have such a great product that has so much buzz, and I have been looking forward to getting this thing for a long time.

It would just be nice to be able to get some accurate information. I am still refreshing that stupid page even though the information is generally worthless.

I have also had the same issue. I thought it was because I have Dial-up!!! Yes I have Dial Up but that is only cause I live in the middle of the country and DirectWay is not worth it! ;-) :-D

I have no idea why it wouldn't work. Maybe it is because you have dial-up? Also, a lot of people are trying to use the website, it may experience some slow times. If you want, I can look up your information for you.

Great Site

Outstanding Site:) My store shows that if you ordered more than one phone, you get to wait. They are only filling one of the orders and then moving on to the next person. 23 Orders with DF! Four people ordered two phones on the 12th and each of them got one. One poor soul only ordered one phone so they skipped him and went on to the next person who ordered two on the 13th. I have two on the 13th but the sales person said that you could only order one so he put in two orders with an "s" at the end of my name. They will probably skip both names just for spite!

The first order from the 12th came in around lunch today (7/17). I can't wait to see the MBA Supply Chain case that comes out of this event. Any Supply Chain major could have figured this one out. I have no problem with waiting but give me a date and follow some logic. This vague "window" is just poor inventory management. Either Dell or FedEx needs to "manage" the next deployment of iPhones.

One reason the site could not be working is because the ATT Order Status site is not working right now..... Here is the ERROR message I get.

Message from the NSAPI plugin:

No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF.
