This morning my status on the FRT went to 1 on back order as well.

Getting really tired of the 1 and 0 game. Will call the store when they open at 0900 hours and ask where my freaking phone is. They told me that I should have it by now as I was one of the first DF orders back on Friday, well last week Friday that is.

As for the order numbers around me, I don't really care as I do not know what the other people ordered. I do know that my local Apple store has all three models in stock. May just go there again and try to get another one.
 
Well I was one of those 7/11 on line people that missed the cut and had to order from my local ATT Store. I was promised a phone in 5-7 business days.
Started checking online like all of us and was discovering people with orders later than mine were getting their phones. I called ATT and this is key, selected to take the customer survey after the call, spoke to a very nice lady who said she really cold do nothing. I took the survey and gave low marks. 30 minutes later a rep from ATT called. I explained my problems and she gave me her direct line and said she would try to help. Both ATT employees were very nice and did what they could.

After the calls, back to the online order status checking. Low and behold at 11 pm est last night my phone shows shipped and available today! Not 100 percent sure but I have a feeling the 2nd rep that called did help me.

Picking up my 16 gig Black 3G I phone around 3 pm est! Finally............

All that re in the same boat as I was try the customer survey option....

I'm pretty desparate at this point, so I called with the intent of taking the survey and bashing the rep, but she was so helpful I gave her all good marks, so here's the deal....I ordered at 11:45am on Friday (7/11). Still backordered. She checked my status and said, yes you are still backordered, but let me look into this a little more. Then she went into their super status thingy that we all wish we had access to. She said I am showing that you have a low number so yours should ship as soon as we get another shipment from Apple. I said what do you mean by a low number, how many are ahead of me? She said I am showing a -8, so that means you are number 8 in line. I said, is that for the whole country? She said no, it is done on a region basis (I am in the SE region). I asked when they would get a new shipment in from Apple. She said their system says 7/20...which would be Sunday. She said there is a good chance they could get some before then. So basically according to her when my regional center gets another shipment, as long as there are 8 or more phones in that shipment..my should ship. This whole thing is sooooo stupid, but at least that is a little encouraging and sheds a little bit of light on how the system works and what kind of info is available to the reps. According to the order numbers from my store I should be 14th in line just from my store alone. Interesting info, but I guess I am as confused as ever. :confused:
 
White Only

FYI Update....Just called my store with the information pulled from the search site. First reaction was amazement on how I could get my hands on such sensitive information. The store then confirmed the shipments that they had gotten in and they matched the data. The only added information is that the only ones shipped were white! Where is my black iPhone! At this point, thinking of cancelling the order and ordering white...probably a #^%$ shoot at this point.
 
Both phones at store

We ordered two black 16Gb phones on 7/11 at around 11:30 am. One shipped to the store 7/16 and the other arrived today 7/18.

The Good
So it took roughly a week for our order to be filled which is within the 5-7 business days that AT&T told us last week. I'll finally be rid of Sprint. So my life went one extra week without an iPhone, big deal.

The BAD
AT&T should have taken better measures to communicate the inventory status to their customers. There's no consistent message coming from AT&T or Apple with regard to inventory or any other part of the iphone purchase. I've found more info from this forum than from any rep or AT&T website.

So today marks 1 week without the 16gb black iphone. I did see about 5 other people that shipped out ahead of me, but that still puts about 15 others in front of me at my store. Ordered at 12pm CST last friday.

Really awesome the Apple stores are still making sales though. High five for them.

The rep at ATT said that everyone that ordered on Friday would have theirs by today (stated to me on Wednesday). Won't even be able to swing by the store after work due to closing on a house. Guess I have my priorities shuffled.

Happy waiting for the rest of us and hopefully they're shipping on Saturday.

Yup, I know how you feel.

I am THIRD in line at my store. One before me has shipped while about 30 BEHIND me has shipped.

I was told I would have it by Friday

I called yesterday and was told 7-10 days. I'll give it till Monday till I raise hell
 
Shipped today. Ordered on Friday.

Hey my Iphone has been shipped. To help others out I had ordered mine on Friday and kept checking the status of it by using my Order ID #. At first it wasn't coming up at all. Man am I glad I found this forum. Instead of putting in the whole Order number I read somewhere to just put in the last 4 of the order and it found it.

Anyways I should be getting it today or tomorrow. Good Luck everyone with their I-Phones. Don't get frustrated just be patient and you will get the email!! :)

i can't believe this, but the white 16GB i ordered this past wednesday afternoon is already on a fedex truck for delivery today! thats a total of 48 hours from order to delivery... i was expecting 21 days.

Same here (I responded to another thread too). Looks like if you ordered a white one, you will get it in 2-3 days. That's WAY better than standing in any frackin' line with little hope!! Enjoy!:apple:
 
Keeping my fingers crossed....

So far this morning I am off back order. The person 8 people before me just had their phone shipped yesterday, and they people following them to me are off back order so I am praying for a miracle and my phone will be here by this weekend....
 
Are there any penalties for canceling a DF order? There are about 50 people ahead of me from my store who haven't shipped. However, my wife and I ordered phones separately, and it looks like shipments are skipping over instances where the same name (only our last name displays) appears multiple times. We ordered our phones on 7/14; an 8GB and a 16GB black.

Our main incentive to go to AT&T was that as part of our company discounts we get our activation fees waived. I'm beginning to think it will be easier on my psyche to go to the Apple store, get our accounts set up, and then get our discounts applied later (and suck up the activation fee).

Order Sunday, shipped Friday

After waited 45 min at Apple, wasn't sure if Apple could signed me up since I was an authorized user, went to ATT store and waited 30 minutes to order.
 
Local Apple store

My local Apple store in Plano, TX is currently out. They are expecting another shipment around noon today but they also have a massive line already.

No luck there and still f***** with my local store, but the upside is that they already taken my money.
 
Most of you people are complaining who order on 7/11. You were told it would be 5-7 business days, so deal with that. Its only been 5 so far!

If your mad about people behind you getting theirs, maybe they ordered another model, or something. Point is, you were told how long it would be, how about giving ATT a little slack and honor what you were told. Who cares if they are doing it randomly, really. Wait the wait you were quoted, and then raise some hell, not before so.

I have waiting since monday, and ill wait till tues/wed of next week.

Good news! 21 phones have been shipped out between yesterday and today. There are only 3 people in front of me. I'm gaining hope again! Hopefully everybody else is getting theres shipped out to

Now if it was going on 8-9 business days, id be with the complainers, but it hasnt, for anyone.

You must realize that due to the context of this thread there is going to be a lot of complaining and unhappy people. There's issues w/ the first come first serve process. It causes people to be frustrated.

Strongly suggest not following this thread if you're displeased reading complaints.
 
Ordered on Friday 10:30a EST. Got the shipping email at 10:30a TODAY. Got the delivery call and email five minutes ago. Going to pick it up in a little bit.

SO relieved.

I have to agree with the others...however valid your point may be, this ain't the place to try to make it....people in this thread are pissed and you aren't going to talk them out of it....go find yourself a nice "feel good" thread...you'll fit in much better.

I dont mind the complaints, but a lot of them really just have no basis @ this time.

Yea it sucks for someone that ordered after you to get theirs first, but what if they just got a different model... I would imagine most of us here are 16GB BLK's.

This thread is about more than just complaints, so thats mainly why im still here.

I just wish people would give att/apple a little more chance with this, they have sold tons of phones, and stuff is bound to not work 100% of the time the way it should.
