AT&T - iPhone 3G on Backorder for 5-7 Days.

I ordered two 16GB (black & white) on 7/31, and there were two pending transaction. Yesterday, the two pending transaction just disappeared.:confused: Can somebody tell me what's going on with it?

Not Sure Today

Not sure if ATT's order tracking system is working today, or just an issue with my store. Yesterday 8/4, my status went from Backordered to Ordered. Most of the people ahead of me shipped on 8/3 or 8/4, so I figured mine would ship today. Now my status is back to backordered again. And I cannot see any other orders around mine changing status today. No 8/5/08 shipped dates.

So maybe my store didn't get an allotment today, or their order system is behind.

Anyway, hope to get it soon, as I ordered a 16gb black on 7/26.

Mine is like that as well but it has the salesmen's full last name a dash and my last name.

ah....sounds right. I looked at my recept and the card the sales guy gave me so it looks like you are right

Maybe it is messed up today.

Alllll day yesterday my phone was a 0. Now today its a 1.
 
After 8 days of faithfully tracking the progress of my back-ordered/not-backordered Iphone......I am stoked to say.......IT SHIPPED TONIGHT!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

July 28: Ordered 8G
Aug 5 AM: CC debited
Aug 5 PM: Iphone shipped

Odd thing is.....I'm going to miss my nightly tracking of my order AND the nightly tracking of those who ordered before me. :confused::confused::confused::confused:

something odd today:

early this morning, I checked my status, backorder number went to 0. ALso did some online banking and saw the charge, which was listed as "Pending" on the transaction history, that was there when I first ordered the phone (the price of the phone) but vanished alltogether a couple days later is back as "Pending".

Went back to order status, phone is back to backorder but still on my bank account as pending

???

That's exactly what happened to me yesterday....and throughout today, your phone status might jump to and from backorder.

Check the AT&T order status page late tonight. My guess is your order is going to ship tonight.

That debit showing up on your account again is a good sign of it finally being shipped.

I get to pick mine up today!! Oh happy day! :eek::apple:
 
Are the 8gb ones the longest delay to ship now?

I ordered 2 on the 28th, from looking at the order #'s around mine, I noticed that the 10 orders before and after mine all shipped(most on the 5th). But my two are still on In Progress.

Think I got skipped because they are the 8gb's or I ordered 2?

I know what you mean, I have ordered an 8 gig, but it's making me think I got the 16 for $100. Would have but I have an ipod now so why have all that extra space I wouldn't use?

Shipped white: 8/5
Got white: 8/6
Shipped black: 8/6
Will get black: 8/7

Woe! I didn't expect this! My 16GB Black iPhone 3G shipped yesterday according to my AT&T Order Status page that I checked just now! I had checked only a few hours before and it was still back ordered! I just placed the order this past Saturday (8-2) at my local AT&T Store. I also checked the Fed Ex tracking number on the website and it arrived here in Columbus (shipped from MEMPHIS, TN last night at 10:26PM) just 30 minutes ago at the "dest sort facility". So I expect it will be delivered to the store today.

I am shocked because a friend of mine just got his last Friday and it took 2 weeks exactly! Sweet! This is perfect timing since my Verizon contract expires in 2 days on this Saturday 8-9-08! (They will hold the phone for up to 7 days according to my receipt).

My account page on Verizon's site says my contract expires on 8-9-08, does that mean I can switch my phone number and sign up with AT&T on that day as well? Or do I have to wait until the next day?
 
My two orders shipped as well yesterday, seems like a huge volume of iphones was just shipped on the 5th and 6th.
 
I'm sad to say that no iPhones shipped to my store today. Or even left their starting location. When I checked last night, up to 216 was shipped. When I checked this morning 217 on (I'm order 222 btw) is on back order, after being a 0 all night. :(
 
Mine shipped today!! Order 16 GB black on 8/02. Will get here tomorrow, 8/08. Only 6 days, not to shabby!!
 
I ordered a black 16 on 8/4. I was told 10-21 days.

Today, PHONE back-order status dropped to 0. I went back 25 orders. The first five were shipped. Mine was the only one with back-order status 0. There were a handful of shipped units in the last twenty.

I can only guess that the shipped units were white 16's. Everyone else ordered black 8's?

I don't know... anxiously awaiting my new phone!
