I'm in Houston too, and got a "shipped" email this afternoon with a tracking number. My order for a 32 GB was placed on the 15th at about 4:45pm through AT&T (my order through Apple was cancelled without notice yesterday at 9:08pm). The phone I'll be getting is in Memphis, TN, and being shipped via UPS Next Day Saver. Shipping date, according to UPS site reads as 6/22/2010.

Edited to add that my last name starts with a C.

Ah yes I've posted several times after the one you just replied to. I'm getting both of mine through Fedex and the tracking number does not work still!

I called Fedex and spoke to a REALLY nice lady who told me that my package is in a bulk order (literally 1000s) of them at the Fedex facility in Fort Worth and they will ship out tonight... Although she couldn't tell me when we should get them.

Huh, since when did ordering first mean that you would get your phone first? Do you expect AT&T/Apple to carefully calculate exactly how long it would take to specifically deliver phones to make sure that orders arrived in exactly the same order in which they were taken? Other than promising to deliver on the 24th, what "word" did they not keep (understanding that many might not get their phones by the 24th and I think they def. have a legit beef).

AT&T Should know when the orders are placed (by the order time and the order number).

People who ordered their iPhones on the 16th will be getting their phones tomorrow, while us who stayed up, will get our phones after them.

It doesn't sound like first-come, first-served basis as stated by AT&T.
 
You people on here are trying to give me a heart attack all week. Its really too stressful to read this forum. lol
 
So why is MINE broken?

I ordered at 3:45 CST (1:45pm PST) on the 15th. I had a few problems connecting, but once I got to the order page on AT&T's site, it was smooth sailing from there. Got my order confirmation email within 2 hours, and late that night I checked online. My order date, like many others, said 6/16/2010 but other than that I was fine. Mine has never been backordered. However, mine has NOT shipped.

I've seen tons of people on these threads who say they placed their order many many hours after mine, yet their order has shipped. Some people who say their order was backordered even have some back to say the status changed, then shipped. Mine has been "in progress" since the afternoon of the 15th and appears stuck there. So what gives??

I called AT&T tonight and while the rep. was unable to give me really ANY information at all, he did say my chances of a Thursday delivery at this point were "very slim." He had no explanation as to why my ordered hasn't shipped yet, and even less of an explanation about why some orders placed hours later had shipped. He used the line "first come, first served" more than once, and that appears to be utter bulls**t at this point.

My frustration stems from having no idea what's going on, and watching what appears to be a nonsensical process in place here. If I were better informed, I wouldn't feel so bad, but since I have NO IDEA what's going on, I'm frustrated. If my phone comes late, I'll live... I have my 3GS. Still: grrr.

I know what you mean man....Mine was on backorder since I can remember and I ordered mine on the 15th.....Just TODAY i am showing no more back order but no tracking number, and everythime I call the AT&T help line and even premier they give me a different answer everytime. They don't have a freaking clue!

That doesn't appear to be the case. "All" is a very powerful word in this forum, and I think its safe to say that there are so many sets of rules in place "all" couldn't apply to anything except...

...all are patience are belong to them. :eek:

I sure hope so! I'm going to disappear from work a bit early to come home (which isn't too far from work.)

I made note of when the Fedex comes by my neighborhood... I spotted it around 11:30am today so hopefully they'll come by tomorrow around lunch or whatever.
 
So galax, when does at&t give us a tracking number? Once it is scanned at fort worth or before that?

I noticed that it was after they were off back order that I got a tracking number many hours later. I bet all your phones get shipped tonight or tomorrow for overnight delivery. I think this worrying thing needs to be over. We will all be recording HD video this weekend. everyone whoooo saaaaaaaa!!!
 
Frustrated

Well I am pretty frustrated that my order is still "In Progress". I wont go so far as to say mad because I do realize it is only a phone. However, my wife spent her time in line for me ordering our phones while I was at work. She was 6th in line on the 15th and got our order in at about 10 am Central. I am glad to see everyone that has tracking numbers and even already have their phones in some cases but it becomes frustrating when you see all the order times after yours that have already shipped.

Oh well life goes on. On a happier my wife and I are expecting our first child and we found out today that it is a GIRL! This definitely helps me realize just how insignificant having to wait for a phone really is!

I agree, didn't a lot of people who went off back order have tracking numbers this morning? Our phones are probably being packed onto a fedex plane right now... Hopefully nothing "castaway" style happens, then we are all screwed

Hey guys! New to the forum and think it's great! Anyhow, been reading all the horror stories and starting to get a bit spooked. I had trouble ordering mine as well as most and finally got it to go through Att premier at 430 am Central Time on the 15. Everything seemed okay until I checked my account to see if the money had been taken out and wasn't until Friday. I received my confirmation at 503am central once I placed the order and shipping info with tracking info yesterday at 935 am but the tracking numbers didn't start showing any info till this morning. I thought I was in the clear but have now found that the charges are gone from my account but the tracking info shows it being delivered tomorrow by 3pm. I know some banks only hold charges for 72hrs and will drop them if the merchant fails to send in the transaction receipt. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? Jst starting to freak a bit :eek:

Same thing going on with me, only my money was deducted the 16th, after preordering at 4:45pm on the 15th from AT&T's site (Apple cancelled an order on me last night), but now I'm back to being $323.67 richer. No $1 missing here. I haven't said anything until now, for fear of jinxing it, but my phone was picked up and shipped today. I live in Houston, and from what I can tell via the tracking number I got early this morning (followed by an email from AT&T several hours later...I "checked" the order status on AT&T's site this morning and found the tracking number there), the phone is in Memphis. I want to believe I'm all set and WILL get the phone before July, and perhaps the $323.67 will be deducted for real within the next few days.

Ordered through AT&T website not premier afternoon on the 15th. Stayed up all night and couldn't get through. Order said the 16th and order #5051 shipped yesterday and will be here tomorrow by ups. Very surprised.

Hate ups btw.

My status: Ordered on the 15th 7:00am. Have Fedex tracking number with no info available from fedex tracking status site.

I emailed fedex, giving them my tracking number and wanting a staus update, and here is their response:
