I posted this in another thread yesterday. Unless things have changed this time around (which I highly doubt), the backordered thing is meaningless. There were countless threads during the previous launches about backordering and unless I missed something, they apparently don't have anything to do with whether you will get your phone on the 24th. If this time is like the previous times, the backordered column will flip back and forth from 0 to 1 for some people and for others it will always stay 0 or always stay 1. In the end people from all three categories will receive their phone on launch day. Try not to stress about the backordered column.
 
Ordered my iPhone at 5:26am on the 15th, got a confirmation page. Not sure if I got the e-mail because it's under my mom's e-mail who doesn't live with me [family plan].
Nothing on "Order Status" page at all.
Called AT&T and they told me I had to call this number that deals exclusively with orders to see what is going on.
 
Ordered mine yesterday at 2:10pm est. Says I ordered it today on the tracking info lol... Not sure whats up with that?
 
Ordered yesterday at about 7am EST. Through AT&T premier, money has been taken, received email... We'll see what happens

mine looks different then all those!

I got my order in via premier at aroun 9:30 am est. Got my confirmation email shortly after which also included activation steps and the activation code. My statues on premier shows like this

You just checked the premier order status from the link in the confirmation email, if you log into your AT&T account you can click on "order status" which will show you the detailed view...

yea if I use the link in my att account, even though it says it only shows for the last 60 days, this is all it shows me!
 
I placed my order yesterday at 4:18 pm. I received no e-mail, my account was not charged, and there were no results when I checked my order status. I did have a confirmation number though. This morning my Visa card has been charged and my order status just changed from backorder to ordered within a 10 minute time frame. YES!!!!!!! I know people are worried about their order but according to the AT&T rep I spoke with last night....as long as you have a confirmation number, you should be okay. I never thought my order would go through and it did. Also, I was upgrading and was not a new customer. I also used a check card to make the purchase.

Not sure if it means anything, but my backorder flag flipped - I have 0's on that column now.
 
OK, so now I know why.
My credit card didn't go through even though the order was completed!
I actually got a suspicion about this because a few hours after my order my credit card company sent an e-mail saying something about "possible fraud" and I called them and told them it was ME ordering the iPhone, and they said OK.
They also said it shouldn't affect my order, BS!
I called the department that handles orders for AT&T and they just tried charging my card again and it went through!
 
I'm a AT&T premier customer with a dedicated premier rep. She placed the order for me yesterday around 1:30 pm EST, but she didn't have an order number or confirmation number which naturally made me nervous. I had also ordered a bumper from apple so initially I was seeing the phantom double $1 charges from apple. This morning around 11 am I got a voicemail from a AT&T business rep saying that there was a problem processing my order yesterday and that I should call back. Just got off the phone with them half an hour ago, she said that because of the backlog yesterday some orders did go through properly but that the system did capture that I was placing an order yesterday so I still have one that should ship night of the 23rd for 24th-25th June delivery.
 
Said my order was cancelled but actually wasn't.

I pre-ordered yesterday at 7am for my mom. Got the 32GB. Never got a confirmation email but it kept showing "in progress" when I checked my order status.

An hour ago I got an email from ATT saying my order was cancelled

"Unfortunately, we were either unable to verify the information you provided or you have exceeded the number of lines of service that we allow customers to purchase online. As a result, your order has been canceled."

So I got online again to check the account and the order status. Still showing in progress. I did notice both order numbers were different.

So I called ATT. Did not wait a long time (surprised) and got a helpful guy. At first he said my order was cancelled (cause he's been handling all these calls today). However I explained the order numbers were different.

He looked up the one "in progress" and said it's showing they have it still and the line was extended for 2 more years already.

He tried looking up the other order number in the email and couldn't find anything about it.

So I'm hoping that my mom is still getting her Iphone. According to him, she should. Just sharing in case there were other emails like this one.

I got that this morning too (either with Order# or Phone#), even though I was able to access the status yesterday.

I then called the Order Status automated phone number, and that still said Backordered, so hopefully the website thing is just a glitch.

Still hopeful for June 24th, but hey, it's just a phone... back to work! :)
 
What is this talk of AT&T delivering the phone on June 25th or later? My confirmation and everything I've seen/heard up until today was delivery on June 24 but now they are hedging?

Also, am I correct in saying that AT&T will ONLY deliver to your billing address? i.e. I can't go in and change the shipping address.
 
Since all the initial shipment batches have sold out already when do you think they will ship out? maybe this Friday(18), Monday(21), Tue(22)?

Ordered mine through ATT 5:30am est tuesday morning. No confirmation email, but my order shows up and is in progress with no back order quantity listed.

Because of the incredible volume of orders we received, there is a slight chance that some customers may receive their devices between June 25 and June 28. Rest assured, we are doing all we can to ship devices to customers for delivery on the 24th. You do not need to take any action at this point.

I was able to get an AT&T store to send the phones to the AT&T store because I wasn't sure anyone would be home.

That said, both my orders say "In Progress".

Same thing happened to me around the same time (7am-ish). Tried to submit first order, it timed out. Submitted again and again timed out. later got an email saying it was canceled so I checked recent orders and one was still processing (but with different order number) spoke with ATT yesterday and they said one order went through and my contract was renewed for another two years. CSR said everything looks good on my order...
