my order went thru at&t.com yesterday around 11:45AM pacific time. this morning i was able to track the status online but it shows ordered date as today, 6/16 instead of 6/15. i was sure i made it before the cutoff yesterday afternoon but now i'm not so sure i'm part of the original batch to receive the phones on 6/24...anybody with similar situations?

Yep. Same deal. Though I did get a email confirmation at 8AM yesterday saying I was good to go. I don't show back-ordered, and my card was hit for the full amount. I'm assuming I'm good to go.
 
What is this talk of AT&T delivering the phone on June 25th or later? My confirmation and everything I've seen/heard up until today was delivery on June 24 but now they are hedging?

Also, am I correct in saying that AT&T will ONLY deliver to your billing address? i.e. I can't go in and change the shipping address.

I ordered from Premier yesterday at 9AM central. I got the order received email and am able to track my order on the premier order status page. It shows the order as "processing". My question is for those who ordered from premiere.

Can you use the regular AT&T order status page (https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status_results.jsp)
to see your status by entering in your wireless number?

I am not able to but it seems that some premier customers can and some cannot. I'm trying to figure out why this might be. FWIW I'm on a family plan and I'm not the primary line. Think this has any bearing?

I ordered my iPhone 4 16GB at 7:30PM EST yesterday at my local AT&T store. It isn't backordered anymore as of this morning.

I'm able to track my order via both pages.
 
I ordered at 5:41 am ET on the 15th and my order status still shows as backordered.

Im going to be mad if I dont get it either the 24th or 25th.
 
I wonder if they are all being shipped from the same location. If not, then maybe that is why some of us are getting backordered, while some aren't.
 
I'm thinking as long as your card has been charged the amount, you should be okay. My order says "in progress" and my Wachovia Visa has a hold of $211.00. Would they cancel my order after all that? I started tryinf to order around 4am EST and finally got through at 4:18pm EST. I never received an email but I think I was lucky to get in just under the wire.

I can only track using the Premier Order Status page, not the regular one. I am also on a family plan and I'm not the primary line.

Yea im hearing some people only getting $1.00 auth charges..

I have the full charge on my account (not visible) but its missing from my account.. and when I called Chase yesterday they said they don't show Authorization charges online and that he could confirm AT&T had a $215+ hold on my account.
 
I got my order through at 9:30AM CDT yesterday. Received the confirmation email and my CC was charged $210.95.

The regular AT&T order status page couldn't find my order until about 11:45AM CDT today. I just saw this thread and noticed some people's backorders were being changed so I decided to check again. Now the order status page can't find my order again. :(

My CC company just called me to verify the charge, so it went through. If I don't get it on launch day I'll just continue on with my 2G like I have for the past two years I suppose.

I can only track Premier (says Processing). I am on a family plan, but I am the primary line. Based on the fact I have no order on the regular AT&T site, my card has not been charged, my upgrade options haven't changed, and neither Premier support or the AT&T store can find anything about my order, I don't think I am in the official system. It seems like purchases through the premier store need to be entered into regular system, and that seems to be taking a while (or has been cut off altogether at this point).
 
i ordered at the app store.. I called and verified and said i can pick up at 7 am. i haven't been awake that early in years lol... but should be worth it tho i have been dreaming of that iphone lol...

Premier, ordered 2 phone for both lines, both are processing. Not showing in general AT&T system. I have a $1 hold on my CC. I can still order thru Apple.com at the discounted rate, so I don't think anything has been processed yet,

I just checked and I can still order through Apple.com at the discounted rate. This also makes me think that the general AT&T system doesn't have my order in process yet. This makes me slightly less hopeful although I'm one of those bastards who also has a reservation at the apple store too. I made that early morning on the 15th but then got nervous about having a FAN discount and not being the primary account holder on my family plan so I ordered on AT&T too. This is all so exciting! :rolleyes:

Same thing on the site, but when I send a text to *639#, it says I am eligible for an iPhone upgrade for 18 bone.
 
I got my confirmation e-mail from AT&T Premier at 4:10am CST on, and my phone is still showing as back ordered.

since you are a premier customer who seems to have his order in the general AT&T system, would you mind trying to preorder on apple and seei if you are upgrade eligible? Trying to figure out some patterns here.

UPDATE: easy way to do this is to dial *639# to see if you are upgrade eligible.
 
I can't get over how many problems people have had. I think the worst thing is thinking you have the order and then get an e-mail canceling it. This phone is going to make me soooo OCD as I am constantly checking my e-mail on my current 3g just to see if I get a cancel. When I checked this morning it said on backorder and now it says in process. The status changed in about an hour. I even called to check the status and they said in process. My cousin placed his order yesterday morning and received a confirmation e-mail and number. He still can't track it and no charges to his account. How does this happen? He placed and order at 6:30 am and I did so at 4:30 pm and my card has been charged? So strange????

at least you can check your status. try dialing *639# . does it say you are no longer upgrade eligible?

Mine said BCK ORDERED all night last night, this morning the service was down, and now it says ordered.

I ordered mine IN STORE at around 2PM EST yesterday.
