went to the att store to try to pick up my phone, they still have not received shipment. will call me if it arrives :( really and the stores opened at 7am with nothing to offer their customers. this is a bit nutty .

Mine is coming via FedEx. Are they requiring a signature (Signature direct or indirect)? Might need to be away for a time and want to leave a note signed and dated.

Fortunately I'm 1 minute from work and do web design/development so I can work from home if I need to.
 
I called AT&T customer service... AGAIN... to find out why it was I stood and waited at the store for a "pre-order" to be delivered to my door and haven't gotten even a shipping or tracking confirmation yet. I was told by the rep that since I ordered in the store I have to call the store for update information on my order status. She calls the store for me, "Rosie" tells me that my order hasn't even shipped yet. When I ordered in the store while the computers were down, despite being there bright and early on the 15th, my order was not put in til the next day, I was told. So basically anyone who ordered on the computer and managed to get through before their cutoff time was has priority over me. This is completely FUBAR and there was apparently no rhyme or reason to their procedure. I went off on her and told her it's ridiculous I was told I'd get the phone by today, they have my $600 (I got 2 32GB), and I have nothing to show for it. :mad:

Question: have people gone from "In progress" to the doorstep without ever being updated of tracking info? Just wondering how much hope I should still hold out for actually getting the phone today despite what these fools are saying... It's sad that I can call 2 times the same company in the same day and be told completely different information. They give me no reason to believe anything said and their apologies for their "misinformation" can go to hell.
 
Finally got through to Premier Support, but it was a waste of time. On hold for about 45 minutes, then another 20 minutes or so while the rep was waiting for information to load on his side. Basically, he said they're working on fulfilling the orders, if I don't see something happen by MONDAY I should call them again. :mad:

Confirms my suspicions... nobody there knows how the system works, and they'll do their best to entertain you but they can't help you unless your credit card was declined or your billing address is wrong.

Swiss Miss - +1 add me to the same issue. I placed an order for upgrade on two phones bright and early right after stores opened. Yes the systems went down and yes I got hand written receipts. I even had the store manager confirm I'd get the phones. I have received nothing from ATT. Last night at 8:30Pm I get a call from the manager. He says he is sorry but he has no phones for my order. He has guaranteed me phones on the 29th. Im an adult (at times) I suppose I can wait. I really don't want to.

I couldn't agree more. Still waiting - no tracking numbers - ordered before 7:00 a.m. EST on the 15th - and I'm willing to bet that it won't even be here by Monday. One thing is for sure, once I get the phone in my hand and activated, I will not rest until I get my activation fee waived, a $75 credit on my bill, and a free bumper and dock - and anything else I can come up with.
 
I think the funny part is, that I was told mine had shipped 3 times, by three different people. Meanwhile, its still in proress with no tracking number. I ordered a bumper (dont judge) and that was on backorder and I BET it will be here before my iPhone even gets its tracking number,
 
I give up, I'm tired of checkin my AT&T order status every hour. It's stuck on In Progress. Not to rain on anybody who has hope still but it looks like alot of us won't receive ours til Monday or Tuesday. If I don't receive it Monday I may call and cancel and go up to AT&T on tuesday or just hold out for the white. Idk, but one thing is for certain is that this whole thing was a mess and a terrible experience. Good luck to all

You're right. We can all wait, and props to your store manager at least he took some initiative to keep you up to date - honestly... too bad I didn't get similar service. That's what is frustrating to me tho... I don't mind waiting as long as I know there's something to wait for and when it'll be. I have no idea at this point. My phones are unaccounted for.

After I got done venting my frustrations to poor Rosie, it came down to: "So you can either cancel your order over the phone now and come and stand in line on the 29th when we get phones on a first come first served basis, or just wait for your current order to go through". I said, "what about my option to get the phone today like I was supposed have gotten? :rolleyes:" But anyways, I told her to leave my current order open, I'll wait and see if it comes by the 29th and they're gonna call me (allegedly - wont get my hopes up) when their shipment comes in to make a decision whether to cancel my "pre-"order or not at that time.

Grrrr...wait and see, i suppose.

Lastly... I had this guy (Nate) a supposed regional manger with many stores under him quote this at order. "I am a regional manger with 9 stores under me, I have the power to override anything. I guarantee you will have your phones on the 24th." Ummmm... Don't be taking his word for anything. Apparently Regional Managers job is to set the store manager up for really crappy conversations with customers. Great leadership in action.:(
 
as of 6:37 am PST, my iPhone is now at a local Fedex facility at San Diego. Not out for delivery yet, I hope soon. It's now 7:30 am PST here.:p

I'm in the same boat, PST just at the facility as of 20 minutes ago. The city is only 30 minutes away but I'll feel much better when it says in transit!
