Shortage of 32gb

I just called ATT again. My order is still "in progress". The rep said that they are out of 32gb phones. She was "hoping" more would come in today. That doesn't sound promising.

8:27 - Out For Delivery
11:04 - Delivered. Since I had a Signature Release on file with FedEx, no signature was needed.

Activated using the 800 number AFTER turning my old 3G off and keeping the i4 off.

Waited 5 minutes and turned the phone on, plugged into iTunes and am restoring from my 3G backup I took this morning. My 3G was j/b and running 3.1.2. Within a minute of plugging into iTunes, the phone displayed the activated message.

This is the truck I saw. Maybe they have so many preorders in Miami they have to get a big truck full of iPhones! LOL

HAHAHA that would be epic...i *think* mine was the standard brown van :D

Maybe I'll just go to the Apple store after work today. I'm sure there will be plenty of 32gb available at 5PM today!

ugh

As I hopelessly wait... in progress... and refresh the status page...

I think the CAPTCHA is trying to tell me something...

Still waiting here. But the FedEx site finally updating to say it was placed on a truck for delivery at 8:11 local time, so it's been out for a ride for 30 minutes or so.

Sad thing is no matter when it gets here I can't use/activate it until after 2pm because I have work phone calls to make all morning and early afternoon. It's just going to sit in the box for hours :(

thank you att for putting the delivery request date to the 25th, so I cant get my phone today.

Same here. The FedEx site says mine's "on FedEx vehicle for delivery" as of 8:00 AM (PDT).

OK AT&T, seriously, WTF... I got my iPhone this morning--thank you... I sync with iTunes and it says it is still waiting for activation:confused::confused::confused::confused: I thought they were supposed to ship activated. My old 3GS is still working, iPhone 4 shows no signal. And, I'm at work so I don't have time to sit on the phone with AT&T to see what's up. Anyone else experiencing this???

I got mail from AT&T a few days ago that indicates you need to activate your iPhone 4 after you get it...

Turn your old phone off.

Try turning your 3gs off. Someone said they finally did that and then the iphone 4 activated within a minute.

Good news/ bad news

All, good news is that my phone came yesterday afteroon. Bad news is that the camera sensor, per Apple Tech Support is bad. I had a blue line through the video and rear facing camera. So, after calling the Apple Store here in Atlanta I was told to bring it in today for a replacement.

Well, got to the store around 6:45 EST and there were like 1000+ people standing in line. Told the Apple Rep walking the lines and she escorted me to the front of the line to get my replacement and I was very appreciative. The store was amazed at the issue on my phone and gave me a new one.

Go home, sync the new phone and when I went to compose an email, I noticed a huge yellow line down the right hand side. Called Apple Tech support again and was told they are aware of some of these issue and to take it back, again to the store. Called the store and the manager said to bring it back, they had a supply of phones set aside for returns. So, went back and they swapped it out again.

I finally have a phone that works as expected... Apple gave me bumper for my iPhone for my inconvienience (70 mile round trip X 2). My point here is that Apple will take care of you in the end. Best customer service in the world. By the way, when I called AT&T they offered no help!

Best of luck to you all and happy iPhoning.

Jun 24, 2010 7:37 AM - On FedEx vehicle for delivery.

Also just got off the phone with Fedex. For this package, a signature is not required. Nice. :)

"Always pull out."

I'd like to know how so many people are getting an update that their phone is out for delivery when the FedEx tracking page is still telling me this:

How would anyone be able to answer that question? I suppose you can read this thread starting yesterday when folks started getting iPhone4's. Anything's possible.

All I know is beginning yesterday morning, mine still showed in process (but 0 in the backorder column), then in process with a tracking number, then "shipped" just before 3 pm, and the Fedex status updated overnight with out on vehicle for delivery, and I'm scheduled for delivery by 3pm today.

And I'm in DFW, so no planes involved--mine went from Fort Worth, to Addison, and then on the truck to me.

I suspect if you're in a different city and it really started shipping yesterday for delivery today, you'd have something on Fedex status about it being out for delivery by now. I've had a few Fedex shipments actually pop up for "out for delivery" mid-morning, but normally that tracking note occurs sometime before dawn.

If you get yours today, hooray. No one really knows, and I'm a skeptic--I think when you call AT&T (or Fedex if you got a tracking #), what you hear and are told may just be fabrication. All you can do is hang in there.
