I purchased two iphones, one 16 gb white and one 16 gb black at 7 am PST. The black one arrived today and I've just received shipping notification on the white iphone, which will arrive tomorrow (the white iphone was labeled backordered until earlier today). I'm sure whoever phones are backordered and ordered it last friday will get theirs soon, since it seems like theres plenty of iphones still available in store....
 
Same thing just happened to me. I ordered on the 8th and the money had been being held untill about an hour ago... Anyone know if this is a good sign or not? Im worried:confused:

Same thing happened to me, and I also ordered on the 8th. I called Att. CSR said I should not be worried.
 
Even though my iphone is atandt the verizon store next to mine says they don't plan on having anyone come.

Well, some people who ordered after us are alread having theirs shipped! I dont get why mine still says "processing items" and my @218 is back in my account. It would be nice to know that this is a sign of it shipping soon.:(

My backordered phone is a black 32gig... so it's not just white phones :-/

I will never preorder an iPhone in stores again just because the wait time is redicilous while people can go wait an hour in line and get it before me. Not worth it.

I maybe didn't expect to get it today, but I would at least like to see some progress in shipping, not just pending shipment for a week. AT&T should've focused more on the preorder customers rather than the walk-ins
 
64 GB black and 64 GB white here, still backordered. Ordered in-store, 10/7, at 9 am. I'm not glad you guys are backordered too, but it's good to know it's not just me. Why, oh why, did I pre-order? As of 3pm today, there were still phones in my local store. WTF.

Just a brief update: I went to the store this morning, unable to cancel but went ahead and bought a full price phone under some fancy pants procedure that the fantastic store staff was willing to do for me, so that I will end up paying the normal upgrade price. Anyway...

I got home, out of curiosity I checked my status and it wasn't backordered. At 930p cdt I got tracking email, it's delivering tomorrow. LOL, I feel kinda stupid for going to the store now....but as far as I knew it was going to be a month. All the reps told me to expect a month wait. I placed my order for a white 64gb on att's site, on the 7th at 10am cdt, no status changes until today.

I'm still aggravated, but only because I wasted my time because att couldn't tell me anything about when to expect the package. I wouldn't have freaked about an extra day or two...a month is another story.

So, my preorder is going back tomorrow. :cool:

Hi, could you tell me if your carrier is fedex, fedex told me they don't do saturday deliveries, so monday it will be, phone got picked up evening 10/14

i WAS in the exact same boat you are in now. But i called my store and cancelled my preorder (had to argue with them until they researched and found out they could actually cancel my preorder)
walked out with a phone within the hour.

i suggest you do the same

Yesterday around 6PM I received an automated message from AT&T that stated my order experienced delays and I should expect my phone on Monday. In addition, my account was credited $50 for the delay (I did not have to request this) and my order will be here today by 1:30 according to Fedex. Woohoo! :D

I just called the AT&T 800 number and they told me that my phone will ship to me in a month. I almost died when they told me this, so just warning everyone, this could be the case.
 
Yes, this has happened in the last hour. While I have no hope of receiving it today because ups and fedex have delivered other 2 phones today already, I decided to check ups under the wireless number and mail innovations and BEHOLD there is a shipment scheduled!! Finally! But no tracking number. Btw, I had done this many times before in the last few days and nothing. So I'm hopeful that it's shipping out today or Monday!!

Got a tracking number late last night and receiving my phone before noon today according to Fedex! :D
 
LOL. I don't understand how difficult it is to preorder. I got my order in with ATT at 1am on the 7th and the phone came at 11am on the 14th.

Simple.

Simple for you maybe, but I think that the majority of us that were or are in Backorder Hell have had a different experience.

I don't think many of us would have had a problem with the phone coming a few days after the official release. I know it wouldn't have been a big deal for me.

However, it was the lack of communication and the varying wait times (ranging from a week to 4 weeks) that the CSRs were telling us when we inquired.

In addition, there was this whole "first come first served" statement, but based on how many people who ordered on the 8th were receiving their iPhones it caused many of us in Backorder Hell that pre-ordered in store on the 7th to question if there was anything wrong with our orders.

I believe that the fact that the store processed these as Direct Fulfillment so that they did not use up their allocation of phones (atleast that is the rumor around here) is the big issue. The store misrepresented to the loyal customers what they were doing.

In addition, had there been more communication from ATT regarding the status of our backorders and when they would ship, not to mention adhering to their own statements, I think most would have been happy and waited. I promise you I would have preferred not spending an extra $100 for the 32gb when I preordered the 16gb or the headache of wondering and having to go into the store to cancel the pre-order...

There are some who would never be satisfied even if they got it the day before launch... However I think the vast majority would have just wanted to have been communicated with.

But hey, thanks for pointing out how simple this was.

what the hell?!?!?! i ordered a 16GB black 4s at about noon an the 7th and it still says back ordered... my biggest complaint by far, is that I LIVE IN ANCHORAGE ALASKA!!!!! almost all of these damn phones swing past me! is it too hard to figure out and just drop one off here?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!:mad:

+1. Listen, Preorder is SIMPLE for you because you have received the phone. You're not in our situation and you will never understand!!! Distribution of preorder anywhere should treat the same. Why pre=order in apple store+apple online+carrier online+WORST OF ALL, WALK IN allllllllllll of these comes in a top priority OTHER THAN STORE ORDER?!?!??!?! does that makes sense? we are all pre-orders?!?!? isn't it?!?!? WTF
 
Just woke up to a Premier email saying my phone shipped last night and I'll be receiving it today by 12pm! YES! I checked and its in Atlanta, just an hour away!!
