AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

I'll take your bet. Especially since he ordered an iPhone 4, and not an iPhone 4S. At least, I hope he ordered an iPhone 4, because that's what's coming tomorrow!

Oh god...my one dollar hold and the $213 hold are gone from my checking account. I've received 3 confirmation emails from ATT and my order number still says "in progress" " pending shipment". I ordered at 9:30 am eastern.
What gives? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that's the problem - now we need to convince Apple to let us buy it after the fact even though they specify it must be done at the time of purchase of the equipment.

For everyone who ordered direct from AT&T, don't get worked up over the lack of tracking info or backordered status at this point. The same thing happened last year with the release of the 4 (and the servers really were f'ed up on that one!). Still come the 22nd (2 days before d-day) tracking info was pretty much in everyone's hands and most everyone who ordered early got them on the 24th as promised. The server issues last year did cause some orders to go through multiple times which caused some delays for some people, but I think it will be less of a problem this year. Direct orders from apple get tracking sooner, but not the phones themselves.
Is your bank account hold still showing up? Mine is gone.
Mine is. Mine shows as pending but the funds were subtracted from my overall balance.

It won't be profit if I drop my 64 gig phone and swap it out same day for 50 bucks.
This is how all insurance works, if it wasn't mostly profit, they wouldn't order it. Doesn't mean its not worth while, plus the convenience factor of being able to go directly through Apple is important to me.
It's a checking account. That's how they behave. It's a preauthorized hold to see if the funds are there. You'll actually be charged when the phone ships.

My credit card still shows it as a pending temporary authorization.
My checking account was charged the full amount for both phones when I placed my order....no holds. So I believe the "charge when it ships" is false

I placed an order for 3 upgrades using the Premier site around 4am (pacific - 2x black 64gb, 1x white 32gb)... on the Premier order status, it shows my order date as 10/7 and "pre-order" for all three. On the wireless.att.com order status, it shows all three as qty 1 for "backordered", "pending shipment" and a 10/8 order date (despite my emails saying 10/7 as the order date and 10/14 as the "expected" delivery date).

Bank of America and no, the funds were listed as "processing" over the weekend, and now they have a transaction date/ID

Eekat: Mine did the same thing. The funny thing is that when I check my status on the few ways that you can, I get a little bit different info. Just hang in there. I ordered mine through the premiere site and I called today and it says it will be shipped soon.
