Ok the new customers I understand but I don't see how anyone who has been an AT&T customer for any length of time is at all surprised at how screwed up their order shipping/tracking process is.

Ive been with att for 6 years, this is the first time ordering something online. This will also be the last. I'd rather sit out in front of an att or apple store, then go through this nonsense again. At least I know I'm getting my phone on time if I go stand out and wait for it. Plus :apple: always gives you some coffee and snacks while you stand in line :)

I checked my AT&T status page and found a FedEx tracking number. There's no tracking info yet, though.

I ordered my 4S about 3:30 central friday morning via ATT. Last year I ordered my 4 through Apple. Apple delivered via fedex last year and ATT via fedex this year. I got my 4 a day early last year. Hoping for the same with ATT.

This thread will be up to 200 pages by the time we all get our phones :eek:

My 16gb white and black iPhones have been shipped. Tracking number is not giving me any info yet from fedex.

Same sort of.

Black has shipping number, white is still processing but listed as shipping by FedEx. Says "shipped 10/10/11" whereas black iPhone says "shipped 10/9/11".

Screencap would be nearly the same, although the tracking number that I'd black out is different.

Ordered at 1:15 am PST - got tracking # for UPS. It's not showing in UPS system yet but shows under AT&T order status. It's a 32 gb Blk.

What issues? I ordered, I waited, I got shipping info this morning. Should be here on launch day. What's the big deal?
 
Did you (anyone) get an e-mail (from AT&T) saying it shipped or did you just check the status and find out you now have a tracking number?

I haven't received an email, I had to check my status on AT&T's website.

Called FedEX

They said that AT&T has requested that a delivery attempt has to be made before the customer can pick up at a fedex location. This sucks because I may not be home which means I have to leave a note on the door or try to contact the driver the same day to arrange a pickup. Fedex also said that they have not physically received any of the phone yet.

You mean like send an email that says the following?:

"Thank you for your purchase from the AT&T Premier Online Store. We're pleased with your choice of AT&T as your wireless service provider.

Your iPhone has been reserved and is expected to be delivered on Oct 14, 2011"

The problem is, even AT&T doesn't know the ETA of most of these orders until just a few days before launch. It's not like they've had a warehouse full of 4S boxes waiting for this day. They got their initial shipments from Apple yesterday in most cases.

They have said in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS that if you ordered before 5PM on 10/7, you WILL receive your iPhone on 10/14, even if it ships that morning.

So relax. Please.

What nonsense? This is pretty normal for a iPhone release.
