Well I got my tracking info last night at around 8:30pm PDT but the FedEx website didn't recognize it for about a half hour, and then it just said Pending. This morning it has me scheduled for a Monday delivery. 128gb SG 6S+ ordered 9/12 12:02:33am PDT.
So here's a fun little story.
It's 1:30pm here. My tracking info still maintains that I will see my phone on Monday. I moseyed on over to the AT&T store a half-mile from my house and asked if they had any of my model in stock. They did. "We haven't been too busy," she said.
So I told her that I had preordered online two weeks ago, that my device had already shipped, but was scheduled for delivery on Monday, and I asked her what the chances were of being able to cancel the online order and buy one of the ones they had in stock instead. She said what I knew she would say - you can't cancel the order once it's shipped.
So I called AT&T and gave them all of these details - the phone I ordered will be here Monday, the same phone is available in-store, but I can't buy it there because my online order already shipped. I told her that basically,
because I preordered, I will not be able to have a new phone today. I asked her if she could waive the $15 upgrade fee as recompense.
She couldn't, because it hadn't been charged to my account yet... but she
did add a $15 credit to my account to thank my for my loyalty to AT&T (I've been with them for over 10 years). The upgrade fee will still appear on my next bill, but it will be offset by the credit.
Maybe I could have asked for more, I don't know, but I'm happy enough. I'll have my phone on Monday and I saved a bit of money.
