All this because AT&T had to play games with their customers over 2 year contract signing. I could have ordered a 6S+ at noon on Saturday the 12th and still had it on launch day from Apple. I'm really considering leaving AT&T altogether. At a minimum I'm never buying a phone from them again.
 
The 6S I ordered for another line 7 minutes after my 6S has it's tracking number oddly enough and wasn't updated until today. Shipped out via FedEX on the 19th, and it's sitting in Fort Worth atm. I imagine the 1st one is doing the same thing, AT&T's system is just slow.

Not just AT&T - I ordered a 6S rose gold 64 for daughter at 3:05 on launch day. Status on Apple site still shows Preparing for Shipment. In my UPS My Choice app - I have tracking info, left China Monday and delivering to us on the 25th.

Has anyone tried calling *6737# for their shipping status? Online no matter the site it always since 9/12 has said, "Preparing for Shipment". When i called and followed the following texts I received, it says my status is "In progress". Perhaps, the call/text way of status checking will show you something different than you have been seeing.
 
Strange, my order status has not changed from In Progress since day 1 but now it says "shipped the 23rd" instead of "will ship the 24th to the 24th" and it now shows a UPS tracking #. UPS says my phone is in Memphis. No charge on my card yet. WTF, get it together AT&T.

What did you order? A 6s or a 6s Plus?

A coworker just went into our closest AT&T Company store. He went in to upgrade one of his lines to a regular 6 Plus for his wife, however, the salesman suggested he wait until Friday to get the 6S Plus because he will have plenty in stock...? I mean he just offered up that information, my coworker didn't even go in asking about the 6S, in fact the guy surpassed a for sure sale because he didn't want my co-worker to get a regular Plus when he'd have S Plus for sure on Friday. Jeez, the plot thickens, and now I'm considering canceling and just going there to get mine... decisions decisions.

I cancelled my order and if I can't get it friday from best buy may just order through att again and be done with it so I took a different approach in the chat..

WE should take a poll. How many people last year got a 6 plus on launch day and only were notified of the shipping day before or hours before?

I keep hearing that people last year had no idea they would be getting their 6 plus and it just came in the mail.

On call with AT&T. They are saying that if I am not home when Fedex delivers, it goes back to their warehouse and they would cancel the order. Wtf? How can they expect everyone to be home from 8-8Pm. First time ordering through Att and they suck big time. Anyone heard this before?
I'm pretty sure delivery services (FedEx, UPS) have to make 3 attempts to deliver your packages. If they are unsuccessful, they'll ship it back to the seller.

I had that happen with a package from Amazon.

I would just stop contacting AT&T. The people you talk to really only know about as much as we do.

I mean that is awful to hear that is how that went down with the late notifications. Especially with people who get ancie an cancel pre-orders to go buy it at the brick and mortars.

I am half way tempted to do that, but a small part of me is saying, sh*t you woke up at 3am to order your phone, it HAS to be getting delivered to you on launch, otherwise, why did I disrupt a perfect nights sleep, right?!
