Don't even have an order through AT&T, I cancelled mine... And to cancel you have to go through 2-3 steps so you can't just accidentally cancel it lol

I ordered mine about 2:30 AM Central (so 30 minutes after they went on sale, would have been sooner but Chase was blocking the order initially as possible fraud).

It updated to say In Transit and its in Fort Worth, TX
It says delivery will be by 3pm on Friday. I live in the Chicago suburbs.

If you have some evidence to back that up, feel free to post it. I just got off the phone with FedEx Customer Service, and they said that Apple had placed restrictions on the packages requiring them to wait until after one delivery attempt to hold it at a shipping location.
Do the restrictions that Apple is placing on delivery take into account iPhones ordered through a carrier (in this case AT&T)?

Lol, I work with FedEX and UPS everyday. I've done it before with the iPhone 4s, and 5s preorders. Since AT&T requires it sent to the billing address, I always reroute it to my Fedex office or UPS hub for pickup so that I can pickup it up when I go to lunch. This year I reserved mine though at the Apple Store though. Maybe it's new this year, i guess, but that would be unusual. Make sure you are talking to a Fedex manager, or try it online.
NOTE: "shipping location" is not the same as a "FedEx Office."
This is a very real thing. When I worked in the credit card industry we did that. It prevents unauthorized people from calling in and re-directing the package to somewhere else. So they honestly do it for your security, it might suck if you're needing it changed but it honestly is better than having tens of thousands of packages being stolen.
Also UPS can do this, I'm sure others do but we worked mainly with UPS and FedEx

Trust me, I've done both of those. And yeah I meant FedEx Office, I just didn't know what to call it.
I have done the same thing before but maybe they have a new policy this year. I've definitely done it with UPS (for my Apple Watch) and I recall doing it before with FedEx.

We're not talking about the same thing. This is redirecting for "pickup" at a FedEx Office, not a address change.
I cancelled my order and if I can't get it friday from best buy may just order through att again and be done with it so I took a different approach in the chat..

Yea, I did the same thing for my Apple watch too. Definitely worth calling Apple to complain about.
I ordered from AT&T and had my 6 sent to my parents' business last year and that for sure is not my billing address.

Those chat reps are as trustworthy as Samsung "inventing" a new product 🙄
On call with AT&T. They are saying that if I am not home when Fedex delivers, it goes back to their warehouse and they would cancel the order. Wtf? How can they expect everyone to be home from 8-8Pm. First time ordering through Att and they suck big time. Anyone heard this before?

I have a 128GB iPhone 6S Plus estimated for 10/16-10/23. I clicked Cancel Order and it said it needed to confirm my identity before I cancel and it'll send me an email. I clicked Email Me and then an error came up. "OM200:A temporary system problem keeps us from completing your request right now. Please wait a while, and try again. For help, call us at 866.499.8008."

At&t requires it when ordering from Apple, and last year when I ordered through AT&T, it did they same to me. It's been this way forever, unless you hold it at a UPS hub or equivalent. But it sounds like they are regulating that now.
Edit: Yes, AT&T.com allows changes, but not Apple

This is why I don't usually order from AT&T. I had to for my wife's phone because I misunderstood the Next Plan and had to pay AT&T $180 to be able to upgrade her, which I'm still pissed about. I was under the assumption we could upgrade annually, but apparently her plan didn't work that way.
It might have been like mine:
Last year I moved into the NEXT plan I think in November, so it was a few months after the release, so this year, since I'm 'upgrading' and did it on the pre order date, I had to pay for those last few months that I hadn't done yet. It makes sense and it's what we signed in to contract for, still unpleasant if you're not expecting it. But better than paying 1100 for the S Plus and 128gb hahaha.
I know Apple requires you to ship to the billing address as I had to when I pre-ordered my 5. I changed the shipping address to my parents' business that year once I had the opportunity. AT&T though I just had it shipped to my parents' business.
I ordered three iphones this year through at&t with a billing address in NY and i'm having it sent to my PA house. All is fine and I have tracking numbers for all 3 on my way to my PA home with my NY billing.

The 6S I ordered for another line 7 minutes after my 1st 6S has it's tracking number oddly enough and wasn't updated until today. Shipped out via FedEX on the 19th, and it's sitting in Fort Worth atm. I imagine the 1st one is doing the same thing, AT&T's system is just slow.

This is a flat out lie. I had my iPhone 6 Plus delivered to another address other than the billing address using AT&T last year and this year, I ordered through Apple and changed my shipping address with no issues. Please, don't provide incorrect information. You can't change the shipping address if you are A NEW customer.
