I called att yesterday with the exact same question and they said no. Once i upgrade and committ i cannot change it back, so i just paid it off. I owed $427.50 still on my 128plus and figured theres very little risk i the value dropping below $400 anytime soon
Should I not trade my phone within the 14 days, they will charge me the balance (just as if I would of paid it off before upgrade)

After talking to 6 people, I finally just asked if they could waive the 12th installment on my two lines since they wouldn't accept payment for them. They told me to go to the AT&T store to pay it but after I talked to them I checked again and they had waived the installments and I was eligible. Got them ordered but delivery dates suck.

I have two very small cracks in the corners of my phone (fell out of my pocket a few weeks ago so mad!!!) I went ahead and said on my preorder that I would turn it in and that the device was in the conditions they listed(i.e. no cracks) What happens if AT&T does not accept my phone? Can I just pay it off in full at that time and hope I can sell it elsewhere to make up for it?
If they ask I'll just say I dropped it after I pre ordered...

Anyone else see a one-time upgrade fee of $15 in their order confirmation? I'm an existing Next customer and upgraded our iPhones that are currently under a Next plan. I thought the fee only applies to new Next customers?

In a statement to The Verge, the company was quick to note that existing Next customers — and those who sign up before August 1st — won't be subject to the fees "at this time."

My thoughts exactly. My only concern would be if they had some kind of penalty fee. I guess we will find out but I'm still going to try to sell first before sending my phone back.

I just got through chatting with at&t online and she told me I wouldn't have to send my phone back in. She said I could continue making payments on the 6 plus I currently have until it's paid for, but I suppose it would be safer to list it for sale in case they surprise me and want it paid in full within the 14 days.

I did the Pay to Upgrade on my iPhone6+ ($42.43) with AT&T online chat on Friday to get the eligibility. On Sat early am, ordered via the Apple iPhone app for a 6S+ on Next12. Delivers 9/25; have 14 days to return old phone.
