Hmm OK. For me it still says 10GB in the title ("Mobile Share Value Plan 10GB"), but that my data is x/20GB. But I'm wondering if maybe she only gave me a 1 month change?
Also said I can keep it until I change my plan.
I'm a pretty new MacRumors forum member, so hopefully I'm not committing a huge faux pas by doing this. It has come to light that AT&T is now willing to match Sprint's 20GB for $100 family share plan by bumping their 10GB to 20GB and leaving the price at $100.
This is covered on page 10 of the AT&T Double Mobile Share Data Pool thread. The short version is, you have to call and talk to the retentions department. Tell them you're considering canceling and going Sprint for the 20GB for 10GB price, but you heard they would match. It's pretty easy. Must be done by 10/31.
However, I think this is pretty big news, especially for folks like me who took the 30GB offer, but really only needed a bit more than 10GB.
Thus, I started a new thread about a topic in an existing thread. I know, people get flamed for this. I think it is warranted in this case because the news is located on page 10 of the thread and I doubt most interested parties will see it. If you disagree, please flag this thread for a moderator to delete.
The guy asked how my signal was and I said it was ok, he said well you want a micro cell at no charge? I said ok! I know wifi calling is coming, but I'm not passing up free stuff. This guy I got was so nice and polite too, I wish I got him everything I had an issue.
Strike 2Don't know how or what people are telling the rep to get their 10gb plan x2. But I tried again and still no go! I even explained that AT&T is doing this for others. She tried to tell me that, that isn't even an option in the system and tried to tell me that these people are either on 15 going to 30 or 20 going to 40! She didn't quite understand what I was saying. I gave up!
Well wifi calling should be coming in a few monthsWish I would have thought of this, the signal in my house is terrible.
Everyone get a text about the upgrade? I didn't, but went on my AT&T app and it shows 20GB so I'm good, just strange no text comfirming my change.THANK YOU!!!!! I was thinking about going from 10gb to 30gb but that was too much for just me and my husband... and I didn't want to pay more either.
I dialed 611 and and use the "cancel service" prompt (I can't remember the number). I just nicely told the agent that I was thinking of going to Sprint because they are offering 20gb for the price I am paying for 10gb w/ AT&T and asked him if they had any data specials because I really didn't want to leave AT&T. He looked at my account and immediately offered 20gb for the price I am paying now. Super easy.
The text they sent looks like they backdated the new data plan to the first day of my current billing period!
ETA: I forgot to mention that the agent I spoke with assured me that this deal is good until I decide to change my plan.
