40 is the next charge or your phone line?

i pay 15/line and 40 for my phone via next.

I didnt go next. I just used the upgrade and chose the 2 year contract extention for my iphone 6 plus. Apparently the charge is 40.00 for that phone since its on a existing 2 year contact.

It worked for me!

I tried following the instructions people are writing here but the initial customer service person I talked to has not heard about it and he even asked his manager and said it's something they have not heard of.

He went on to say that he will transfer me to the "customer relations" department since they may have more authority to do things like this. After being on hold for a few minutes, I was able to speak to another person who was very quick to say that they do offer this matching promotion and he said he's glad I called today because this is a limited time offer only.

All I mentioned was that I heard they are matching the $100 Sprint plan by doubling their 10GB to 20GB.

Awesome! Thank you for this thread! I just called 611, then 0, then 3. Told the nice lady about the Sprint deal, and she put me on hold. When she came back on the line, she said she got approval to double me to 20gb at no extra cost. Just got the text confirming it.

I had to turn my son's data off since I got the message we were at 90% capacity 5 days before my new cycle began. He and I use about 4.5GB's and my wife uses less than 2GB. I've had to lecture him on making sure he's on wi-fi for things like videos and photos. Apparently Facebook and Instagram use an insane amount of data.

For the last 4 cycles I always got the 60% text message alert.

I feel like I can actually use my phone now without having to freaking worry about data all the time.

Worked for me as well. I'll add that it's also the last day of the 10/13-10/22 ship windows for the 6+. Today my 6+ order went from 'pre-order' to 'back-order'. The rep said they received a memo this morning regarding this issue. They may have a busy day...

I know we're all real happy with AT&T right now but a lot of the thanks actually goes to Sprint and T-Mobile. ;)

My dad (who is the account holder on my families account from back in my high school days) tried to call and got the shaft by regular CS. They made him go to the 30GB plan for the extra $30 promotion (which we don't need at all). I called (authorized user) and asked the robot for Retentions. Got a nice lady that cancelled the 30GB plan (that wasn't even set to start until next billing cycle), upgraded the 10GB to 20GB and back dated it for this cycle. All I asked was that I had heard from a friend AT&T was matching Sprint's $100 for 20GB deal. Thanks AT&T! That was the best AT&T call I've ever had.

I just had mine changed from 10gb to 20gb too. Just a word of advice, don't talk to a general customer service rep. They have no clue, or will not help you get your 20gb. The first two times I failed, then I talked to a "higher up" and had it switched.

confirmed, just called customer retention (cancel your service option) and stated Sprint was doing the 20GB plan and asked if they were willing to match it. not only did they match, they gave me a $25 credit on my account.

:)

Thx OP!

Just did myself and it was effortless. She credited my account for 41.50 as well. Cant beat that! Thanks all!

Thanks Roland Deschain and everyone else, had by account switched to 20GB (30 was too much). Regular CS rep had no idea what I was talking about, retention rep did though. She didn't offer me a credit, and I didn't think so ask - should I?

I first tried the 611 / 0 / 3 option and must have been connected to a regular CS rep because that got me no where. So I called back and told the computer I wanted to speak to the retention department. There I spoke to a nice rep that was able to bump my data from 10 to 20 gig. It was a little confusing during my conversation, but the result was the same. Thanks OP!

Yes I got it done!! 20GB for the price of 10GB!! Mine will be effective I guess on the last day of my billing cycle to eliminate proration but I'm very excited

So for some reason ours isn't taking effect until the next billing cycle. I was nervous about not having any confirmation that the conversation/agreement ever took place but today I noticed that if I go in as if I'm going to change my plan it now says...

"We're currently processing a change to this plan. Once it's complete, you can make more changes. Please try again after November 08, 2014"

November 8th is when my current billing cycle is up. So I'm now more confident that it'll actually go through like they said it would.

Success. Called 611, 0, 3. First rep couldn't do anything for me. Asked to be transferred to retentions. Retentions took care of it in a few minutes.

Okay, so can someone clarify something? Is the $100 the total cost, or do they also charge the fees per line?

If they're not charging the fees per line, what happens when we upgrade a phone? Anyone know?

Can someone break down exactly what they are paying now that they have switched? Is it literally just $100 plus taxes/fees? If not, this isn't as good as the Sprint deal really, because that is up to 10 lines, at least for the first year.

Just got this done, was on the phone for a total of 13 minutes. I was on hold for about 7. I dialed 611, there was a computer talking, not accepting key presses, so I asked for the retention department and the computer said it would put me on with the cancellation department. They were very nice, I just mentioned the Sprint deal and they set me up. Asked if there was anything else they could do for me as well.

Not that it matters, but I have been and AT&T customer for about 3 years now, been on a family plan for 2.

Anyone have any success with a Premier account? I called and they insisted the double data was only on the 15GB plan. I even had him talk to a manager with no luck.

No it's not as good as sprint... AT&T's plan is $100 for 10GB (now doubled to 20GB) then $15 per smartphone per month and $10 for tablets. So, If you have 2 phones on this your monthly bill would be $130. This gets super confusing if you decide to use a subsidized upgrade on a line then that line goes to $40/month for 24 months (to pay for the subsidy).

I hate the phone so i tried this on chat and it worked! i was transferred in chat three times but i was persistent to match sprints offer and they did!

Worked me as well... Didn't want to call. Decided to chat.. was only transferred once. The first chat offered me the 130$ plan for 30GB.. which I declined. But the after the first transfer... it was quick.
