My wife works for Union Bank which is now Mitsubishi Financial Corp. She is an assistant VP for transactional world banking. Here is how it goes and you can call AT&T to confirm it with them. First charge is a pre auth which comes off after 3 days, then they don't charge again till they ship. Believe what you want man, you have a lot of hostility.

I just opened a chat and they told me that almost no one would get their 6+ on 9/19 that the date your order status shows now is the correct date

First Rep I've heard of saying this. Maybe that rep is bitter about not getting one or something lol.

I think you maybe confusing the law regarding holds for deposits, not authorization holds. The rules regarding deposit holds were changed in the last couple of years.

The FCBA does not limit hold periods. It was passed back in the 70's when there no credit card terminals. (They'd look up your card in a book, use the "click-clack machine to imprint your card number, if it was more than $25 or so they'd actually call for an approval code write that on the receipt). That was the law that limits your liability for unauthorized charges to $50.

Holds can be placed for 10 days or more depending on your banks policies. If a transaction posts in that amount (or within certain parameters), the hold will drop off. That's why their are signs at gas pumps warning you about holds. A gas station could hold $150, but you only pump $50. When that transaction posts, it doesn't match so the hold will continue on the account until the # of days has passed.

Yeah I was proven wrong and I am willing to admit it. I could've sworn it was part of the FCBA. I do know for a fact it's AT&T's policy not to charge (after the pre auth) till it's being shipped. Might be more of a merchant thing.
 
I spoke with a rep earlier and that's what she made it seem like, too. I honestly don't get it. Why would Apple tout the 19th for both phones if they weren't even close to being prepared?

I admitted I was wrong to two other people. I could have sworn it was part of the FCBA, it is part of AT&T's policy however. Sorry man. But keep letting out the hate....
 
Ordered at 11:47 prior to official launch.
Order starts with #101423. I originally had the tax charged the next morning stating preparing to ship with a 10/2-10/13 date. The charge was removed after a few days and the date changed to

So maybe something is changing or in the process of moving? My question is why is the charge for more than the tax for the full price of the iPhone. The charge is for almost double the cost of tax?

Hopefully we some of these 6 plus phones ship otherwise I think a lot of ATT customers will be a little pissed.

Folks, why are you snapping at the chat staff? They are doing what they are trained to do....their responses will probably vary based on their experience level. They aren't physically in the warehouse sorting your phones.

No, it's not three business days either. I had a pending charge from Gamestop on my AMEX for over a week while waiting for an Xbox One and PS4 to ship before Christmas.

This guy is just telling you what he knows, which is no more than what we know. That's his job. He is probably VERY tired after 8 hours of people trying to wring info out of him that he doesn't have.
 
what a flop this has been for ATT. Some of you guys are really optimistic but highly doubt we'll be getting our phones anytime soon. ATT is in the business of making money, they could have easily postponed the release of the 6 plus, but were scared to lose to the competitors. I'm pretty sure I'll receive my new phone around the same time of our bills, which sucks.
 
Hard to say. Perhaps there were several databases collecting information simultaneously, and the 101X number corresponds to whichever you happened to fall into. Might not mean anything as far as priority goes...We need Sherlock Holmes to take this one to the mind palace.

weird u guys charges are falling off. the day i placed my order on the 12th at 2:50am est i had to two charges, 1 dollar charge and 57 dollar charge for att next. the dollar charge fell off today but the 57 dollar charge is still there and isnt pending

Looking at the poll numbers, I wonder if Apple drastically underestimated launch day demand for the Plus. It seems like 40+% of launch day customers want the plus. Did anybody see this coming? Apple users have made fun of the phablet for years. I'd bet the portion of S4-S5/Notes is probably 4 to 1. And with the $100 premium for the Plus, I wonder if Apple anticipated a 3-1, 4-1 ratio and thought the limited number of 6 Plus models they had would meet initial demand.

I bet they quickly changed the ratio of phones being made at Foxconn this weekend.

Right. It's AT&T's fault and AT&T failed to provide enough inventory.

Agreed. I also don't think they expected so many Android owners to be switching over. I saw polls which showed low percentages of Android owners wanting to switch but now places are reporting much higher numbers. I think Apple got hit two fold with bad expectations.
 
mines 1018, but that's the premier order number, I read that the first 4 don't mean anything, if I log into my account and see the non premier number it is different.

It's the 4 after the hyphen. The first four are random in that case. I'm not sure if the folks who discerned the information from them last year have done so this year, if it's the same, or if it applies at all.

Now common sense would dictate as the rep said, if you ordered within the first full day, your golden. Alas common sense seems to have no bearing on atts MO :(

As someone else said - cautiously optimistic is as far as I'm willing to go. Like others I got the initial 14-21 days which changed to 11/9-11/27 at which point I lost it. Now it has backed up to 10/31-11/07 which is all but random considering my wife who ordered the same phone but after me has a earlier date (the 10/02-10/13) I believe or whatever it is.

The email nor the site provided any new information. I just found it interesting I got it overnight.

I got the same email too.
