How could it be AT&T's fault?

It very much appears as if Apple went forward with a simultaneous release with not remotely enough 6+ even to last 15 minutes of preorders. We'll see how it sorts out.

Last -15 minutes you mean :p

Thank you for getting my hopes up some for my 6+ order. I'm going to go back to banging my head against the wall, though. So many emotions and first world problems.

Ok, here's some good news.

My "status" at AT&T still says 10/13-10/22

But UPS my choice shows an iphone being delivered to me this Friday 9/19.

So yes it appears it's option 2- AT&T is completely incompetent in providing accurate inventory/shipping data.

Awesome-which color 6+ did you order?

My husband's regular 6 has always shown a ship date of 9/17-9/18 & his order is not yet showing in UPS MyChoice or FedEx Delivery Manager but I'm confident he will get it Friday so even though our 6 Plus have not shown in either place as well doesn't mean they won't ship in the next couple if days :)

I had my pending charge disappear on my chase card. Status still says preparing to ship with a 10/2-10/13 date. Is this good or bad?

Cool.. So original theory stands.. But I wonder why yours is 1018 when you ordered before me.. 2:45 ET right? I ordered around 2:50-2:55 ET.. Mine starts with 1012.. May be it's descending order.. Who knows..

I find it entertaining that people continue to post their first 4. Does this make me sadistic or as bored as you would expect someone with an iphone 5 eager to get his 6 to be?

I haven't even picked up wow in the past few days out of pure anxiety. My life is on pause until I get my phooooooooone! Course to be fair I'm going to be miserable until the jailbreak hits and will likely keep using my 5 anyhow lol.

I'm doubting it. I have two on preorder with those dates and at this point I don't see a good reason why I'd get either one on Friday.

I think Apple and other carriers are shipping the Plus this Friday. At least I think I came across a few in other threads. If that's the case I have to believe AT&T will have them to ship for Friday as well. Given no one seems to have a Launch ship date, some should change to that. I can't imagine only AT&T was screwed on the 6 plus.

If no one was getting a 6 plus from the other carriers I would lose hope and just assume it's a mass delay but I don't think that's the case.

Well, the rep told me they (AT&T) didn't expect to have such high demand on the Plus.

Not sure how the "professionals" didn't "expect" this, I sure did. As did anyone else with half a brain.

That said, in what context are you referring because a few pages back we have a rep confirming we will all get our phones on the 19th...

When will the wonders cease lol

Come on!! Don't deny us all this fun.. Pretty please!!

Not sure how you read pointing out you and your wife are factually incorrect about what federal law actually says is "hostility"

Are you that insecure about someone showing you're wrong?

Because honestly the only hostility I've seen is your defensiveness that your wife could possibly have been mistaken (and she was)

I notice you've changed your story from "IT'S FEDERAL LAW" to "It's AT&T policy" though, so that's at least a first step in admitting you were wrong :)

Since the cool kids are now talking about this and not iPhones....

It seems even if it were "att" policy, that they are readily breaking their own rules. We have everything from no holds to several holds. No charges to fully charged. Holds dropped off. Holds that have come back. Holds that have dropped off then charged. Some with shipping info via myupschoice, some not.

I think the only clear answer is F ATT!

And to the troll who posted "I just talked to an att rep and they said xxx we are all screwed" I don't even have words. SS or it didn't happen.

I placed my order for my 6 plus within the first hour of launch but when I go to order status it says order date of 9/14 instead of 9/12? Anyone else have this issue?

My story is very similar to many of yours. I woke up a few minutes before 3:00 a.m. EST planning to order through the Apple Store only to find out it was having issues opening to public on certain devices from what it seems. I quickly opened up a second tab and resorted to pre-ordering through AT&T while constantly refreshing the Apple Store. I watched the countdown on the AT&T website until it finally let me log in.. Once I got in, there was 0 lag, smooth as usual and I placed an order for my other line instantly thinking that the gold iPhones overall would backorder out much quicker than the Plus. Oh boy I was wrong. Successfully pre-ordered the iPhone 6 64 GB in Gold exactly like 2 minutes into the AT&T opening to public. As soon as that finished, I got kicked out of the website for whatever reason and spent like 3 to 5 minutes attempting to get in from multiple devices with no success, once I got in, I pre-ordered my iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB Space Gray with no problems. I had more issues getting into the website than navigating through the website.

Received confirmation email 6 hours later for both orders. The line with the iPhone 6 upgrade also received the confirmation text before I did. Of course that iPhone 6 is estimated to arrive this Friday as per the confirmation email and other sources (read below.) Off the bat my shipping estimate was within 10/13 to 10/21 range I believe and now it dropped to 10/2 to 10/13.

I'm also a UPS My Choice member and see the tracking number and estimated arrival of the iPhone 6 for this Friday but nothing for my iPhone 6 Plus. That package is coming from Memphis, TN. It's good to note that the AT&T website doesn't have the tracking number listed for the iPhone 6 yet either and both orders are still "Preparing to ship".

I was thinking of running my luck and going to my local AT&T store down the road early to see if they happen to have the iPhone 6 Plus in stock in general. 64 GB+ at least and Space Gray. If they do, I hope they're able to reverse my upgrade for my line alone and do the upgrade in store.

Meh, wishful thinking?

To add on to my story, so interesting enough, I also received this email this morning, "Thank you for placing your recent iPhone order with AT&T (#Premier <HIDDEN>). For the most up to date information regarding the status of your order and shipment date, click the following link: https://www.wireless.att.com/business/order_status/

Note: Enter the first 17 digits of your order number preceding the dash.

We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,
AT&T"

Status here shows pending with the same estimated shipping date of 10/2 to 10/13. Nothing has showed up on my UPS My Choice except for the existing other iPhone 6 order which is on it's way still and both pending charges have been dropped on my bank account and neither one has been put through which is interesting because that other phone is on it's way already.

AT&T website hasn't updated still so that is an unreliable source.

May call my local AT&T store just in case to see if they'll be able to do what I wish if they have the same iPhone in stock.

what site did you order from?

What was the weight of your package for the 6?

Yeah I was proven wrong and I am willing to admit it. I could've sworn it was part of the FCBA. I do know for a fact it's AT&T's policy not to charge (after the pre auth) till it's being shipped. Might be more of a merchant thing.

I wish they would. Tbh I had waited some hours for my check to go in because I assumed they would. Didn't want to overdraft. Now not only did they not so I could have got my order in at 3 instead of 8, but the hold fell off so I'm going to overdraft anyhow because they're going to charge me god knows when and I have bills to pay.

Att = win

Holy crap lol! It's like he has nothing but a number pad with macros tied to each key. Press 5 for sorry about the inconvenience. Press 7 for I understand.

Or he took advantage of the naivity of much of the webs populace...

Folks, why are you snapping at the chat staff? They are doing what they are trained to do....their responses will probably vary based on their experience level. They aren't physically in the warehouse sorting your phones.

So u mean to tell me (assuming this was a real chat anyhow) that not knowing specific info somehow removes the responsibility of the csr to actually converse intellegently and give a customer real unscripted dialogue. Gimme a break.

I'm as mr nice guy as they come but that doesn't mean I'll let someone write me off and essentially ignore the essence of what I'm asking. I've seen it too many times.

They refuse to give Americans jobs because they would rather pay less and contribute to another countries economy than give us better service and pay a bit more.

So we get some non native speaker that you can't understand and that can't understand you or give you a satisfactory reply either. That and/or they literally read from a script. I can't tell you how many times I've called my ISP due to a broadband issue (I do IT for a living) and I explain the entire issue as well as the steps I've taken to rectify it before calling. They proceed to ignore what I said, ask me to reset my gateway, and when it doesn't work (like I previously said it didn't) they proceed to tell me sorry and they will have to send someone out lol.

This is just one of a plethora of examples. It's more the norm than otherwise nowadays and that's just wrong. Id go so far as to say a company could use the fact they have American customer service for... America as a major marketing/advertising campaign and it would be very effective. Hi Michael dell. We made you rich and now we struggle to understand the Indians you are giving that money to.

But yea - waaaay off topic now lol.

No, it's not three business days either. I had a pending charge from Gamestop on my AMEX for over a week while waiting for an Xbox One and PS4 to ship before Christmas.

I think that's bank dependent.

Yes, they really do. These people do what they're told, they're given very limited ability to think for themselves or to go above and beyond, and they're beaten down call after call. Their inability to help frustrates them just as much or more than it does you. It's not their fault, it's all management. At the end of the day let's all just be thankful we don't have that job. I had that job once and knowing what I know I still find it hard to not take it out on them.

I don't buy into this... First, there job is customer service and their customer service skills suck! Granted they might have to deal with a lot of angry customers but that's no reason to bring it into to another call. ...and I wonder why customers are angry? Customers are angry because they pay this company their hard earned money, get no information and a ridiculous time frame as they see other companies such as Verizon communicating with their customers. Now customers wait on hold for 40+ minutes to get no information.

I can understand why customers take out their frustrations on these people, as a representative of the company. If they're upset over it, it's their company's fault no one else's...

I find it hard to believe these "Premiere" Customer Service Reps would accept this level of service while up dinner on the way home at the grocery store, Burger King, or Subway! ..but we get an attitude for asking where our phone is and asking for communication?

128 gb 6 + - 10/2-10/13

Just got off with AT&T for the second time in two days and got the same info. The shipping estimates are correct. Period. I want to be wrong but I really think they're right. Had the phones shipped for Friday, we would have received tracking numbers. AT&T never gave me the option for expedited shipping so at the very least, it could be some time next week. Oh well, I'll just have to settle for iOS 8 on my iPhone 5.

Looking at the poll numbers, I wonder if Apple drastically underestimated launch day demand for the Plus. It seems like 40+% of launch day customers want the plus. Did anybody see this coming? Apple users have made fun of the phablet for years. I'd bet the portion of S4-S5/Notes is probably 4 to 1. And with the $100 premium for the Plus, I wonder if Apple anticipated a 3-1, 4-1 ratio and thought the limited number of 6 Plus models they had would meet initial demand.

I bet they quickly changed the ratio of phones being made at Foxconn this weekend.

I highly doubt it. I'm a nobody and I expected it to be higher than the other. Seems to be pretty near split overall.

Apple has the best analysts and staticians in the world working for them... It certainly wasn't due to that.

More along the lines of apple projecting to sell 80m of these this year and not being able to field 5% of that number for launch apparently. (4m pre orders and that's between BOTH models)

Well they haven't charged anything at all on my cc or put any holds on it. They haven't emailed me anything either just the conformation number after I ordered Friday morning. I'm planning on calling after work to see if there's anything wrong.

Did you find anything out from AT&T about this issue?? I'm in the exact same boat as you are!
