How could it be AT&T's fault?
It very much appears as if Apple went forward with a simultaneous release with not remotely enough 6+ even to last 15 minutes of preorders. We'll see how it sorts out.
Last -15 minutes you mean

Which part do you need clarification on?
Ok, here's some good news.
My "status" at AT&T still says 10/13-10/22
But UPS my choice shows an iphone being delivered to me this Friday 9/19.
So yes it appears it's option 2- AT&T is completely incompetent in providing accurate inventory/shipping data.
Awesome-which color 6+ did you order?
Cool.. So original theory stands.. But I wonder why yours is 1018 when you ordered before me.. 2:45 ET right? I ordered around 2:50-2:55 ET.. Mine starts with 1012.. May be it's descending order.. Who knows..
I'm doubting it. I have two on preorder with those dates and at this point I don't see a good reason why I'd get either one on Friday.
Well, the rep told me they (AT&T) didn't expect to have such high demand on the Plus.
Yeah, pretty much.Last -15 minutes you mean![]()
It's likely just the 6. Check your pkg weight.
I find it entertaining that people continue to post their first 4. Does this make me sadistic or as bored as you would expect someone with an iphone 5 eager to get his 6 to be?
I haven't even picked up wow in the past few days out of pure anxiety. My life is on pause until I get my phooooooooone! Course to be fair I'm going to be miserable until the jailbreak hits and will likely keep using my 5 anyhow lol.
Not sure how you read pointing out you and your wife are factually incorrect about what federal law actually says is "hostility"
Are you that insecure about someone showing you're wrong?
Because honestly the only hostility I've seen is your defensiveness that your wife could possibly have been mistaken (and she was)
I notice you've changed your story from "IT'S FEDERAL LAW" to "It's AT&T policy" though, so that's at least a first step in admitting you were wrong![]()
My story is very similar to many of yours. I woke up a few minutes before 3:00 a.m. EST planning to order through the Apple Store only to find out it was having issues opening to public on certain devices from what it seems. I quickly opened up a second tab and resorted to pre-ordering through AT&T while constantly refreshing the Apple Store. I watched the countdown on the AT&T website until it finally let me log in.. Once I got in, there was 0 lag, smooth as usual and I placed an order for my other line instantly thinking that the gold iPhones overall would backorder out much quicker than the Plus. Oh boy I was wrong. Successfully pre-ordered the iPhone 6 64 GB in Gold exactly like 2 minutes into the AT&T opening to public. As soon as that finished, I got kicked out of the website for whatever reason and spent like 3 to 5 minutes attempting to get in from multiple devices with no success, once I got in, I pre-ordered my iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB Space Gray with no problems. I had more issues getting into the website than navigating through the website.
Received confirmation email 6 hours later for both orders. The line with the iPhone 6 upgrade also received the confirmation text before I did. Of course that iPhone 6 is estimated to arrive this Friday as per the confirmation email and other sources (read below.) Off the bat my shipping estimate was within 10/13 to 10/21 range I believe and now it dropped to 10/2 to 10/13.
I'm also a UPS My Choice member and see the tracking number and estimated arrival of the iPhone 6 for this Friday but nothing for my iPhone 6 Plus. That package is coming from Memphis, TN. It's good to note that the AT&T website doesn't have the tracking number listed for the iPhone 6 yet either and both orders are still "Preparing to ship".
I was thinking of running my luck and going to my local AT&T store down the road early to see if they happen to have the iPhone 6 Plus in stock in general. 64 GB+ at least and Space Gray. If they do, I hope they're able to reverse my upgrade for my line alone and do the upgrade in store.
Meh, wishful thinking?
First Rep I've heard of saying this. Maybe that rep is bitter about not getting one or something lol.

To add on to my story, so interesting enough, I also received this email this morning, "Thank you for placing your recent iPhone order with AT&T (#Premier <HIDDEN>). For the most up to date information regarding the status of your order and shipment date, click the following link: https://www.wireless.att.com/business/order_status/
Note: Enter the first 17 digits of your order number preceding the dash.
We appreciate your business.
Sincerely,
AT&T"
Status here shows pending with the same estimated shipping date of 10/2 to 10/13. Nothing has showed up on my UPS My Choice except for the existing other iPhone 6 order which is on it's way still and both pending charges have been dropped on my bank account and neither one has been put through which is interesting because that other phone is on it's way already.
AT&T website hasn't updated still so that is an unreliable source.
May call my local AT&T store just in case to see if they'll be able to do what I wish if they have the same iPhone in stock.
Yeah I was proven wrong and I am willing to admit it. I could've sworn it was part of the FCBA. I do know for a fact it's AT&T's policy not to charge (after the pre auth) till it's being shipped. Might be more of a merchant thing.
Holy crap lol! It's like he has nothing but a number pad with macros tied to each key. Press 5 for sorry about the inconvenience. Press 7 for I understand.
Folks, why are you snapping at the chat staff? They are doing what they are trained to do....their responses will probably vary based on their experience level. They aren't physically in the warehouse sorting your phones.
No, it's not three business days either. I had a pending charge from Gamestop on my AMEX for over a week while waiting for an Xbox One and PS4 to ship before Christmas.
Yes, they really do. These people do what they're told, they're given very limited ability to think for themselves or to go above and beyond, and they're beaten down call after call. Their inability to help frustrates them just as much or more than it does you. It's not their fault, it's all management. At the end of the day let's all just be thankful we don't have that job. I had that job once and knowing what I know I still find it hard to not take it out on them.
Looking at the poll numbers, I wonder if Apple drastically underestimated launch day demand for the Plus. It seems like 40+% of launch day customers want the plus. Did anybody see this coming? Apple users have made fun of the phablet for years. I'd bet the portion of S4-S5/Notes is probably 4 to 1. And with the $100 premium for the Plus, I wonder if Apple anticipated a 3-1, 4-1 ratio and thought the limited number of 6 Plus models they had would meet initial demand.
I bet they quickly changed the ratio of phones being made at Foxconn this weekend.
Well they haven't charged anything at all on my cc or put any holds on it. They haven't emailed me anything either just the conformation number after I ordered Friday morning. I'm planning on calling after work to see if there's anything wrong.
