Canceled and re-ordered a regular 6 with Apple. The plus is just awkward lol. Now I'll have my phone before Thanksgiving for sure.
 
My upgrade was restored in 5 minutes after canceling

In case anyone was nervous about getting their upgrade restored, mine was available within 5 minutes after canceling my pre order.

So quick question. If one of you had the opportunity to be guaranteed to get a silver iPhone 6+128 GB and you wanted a space gray 128 GB iPhone 6+ tomorrow rather than wait would you go for it?
Do what ya got to do, but just know that does absolutely nothing but create a negative situation for a rep(and probably other customers who have to wait for you to finish "raising hell") who is already working his/her ass off this weekend. I work at a corporate store and I check this thread hourly as I am in the same boat as all of you (ordered within 5 mins of site opening and sitting in 10/2 purgatory) and we are clueless about in store stock coming in and have ZERO information or capability to find out about online pre orders.

I'm not planning to be a bitch. But I'm not here to do ATT any favors. I've been a good customer for years, and I deserve better customer service than what I am receiving. There shouldn't be any reason that an order scheduled to ship in two or more weeks can't be canceled.
So what are you planning then? As already explained to you by someone who works in a corporate store, the people working in the store A). aren't the ones who made you wait, B). can't give you any additional information, and C). can't do anything to give you a plus or make your order come any faster. So why make them and the other customers listen to your ****?

I've never had anything but great customer service and never gotten anything less than 110% from the store employees.

What you're proposing is not fare to the store employees working their asses off or the customers.

You are not the only one in this boat there were AT LEAST a dozen on line who I knew also had a back ordered 6+ (my self included), and there is at least a store every few miles in my area. None of us made a scene or raised hell.

Do as we did, go to a corporate owned store, play with both models, you might like the 6 (I did), you may not. Then you have to do what the store manager told all of us in the same situation... Basically go play with both phones and decide if you're going to wait for your pre order OR if you like the 6, pick one up in the store (assuming this option is still available at this stage).

If it say available for pick up at the bottom of the screen when ordering an iPhone for inshore pick up does that mean i can get it tomorrow?
 
Keep canceling everyone! (especially the 6+ 64GB SG) I have neither the time nor energy to wait in line at 7:00am or stay up till midnight again and "hope" there's one for me at the Apple Store for pickup the next day. The more that cancel, the quicker I get mine!! :)
 
WTF? My monthly bill has been about $244 a month for a family account of 5 lines for years. I just just checked my account and my bill is $313 this month. Only thing I did since my last bill was order two iPhone 6+'s which I've only received one.

A quick comparison of iPhone 6 vs 6+ preorder supply (from 9to5Mac):

Demand for the 6+ was about 3 times that of the 6, but only 12% of phones delivered were iPhone 6's. Looks like Apple either really underestimated the demand for 6+ or there really is a serious manufacturing issue.

AT&T's website played a mean trick on me tonight. For the last couple days when checking my order status, it had gone back to telling me a line might be eligible for upgrade would I like more information. Tonight that prompt went away. So I got excited that I might have tracking info. But alas, still sitting on 10/2-10/13.

Eligibility Transfer problems

I have upgraded twice as new iPhones became available. I have 3 numbers and kept one number just to always have an eligibility available. One number has a smart phone data plan for a 5S. So, this time I called Verizon and confirmed I could do a number to number transfer of eligibility as I have in the past. Great.
So, I ordered and got my new iPhone 6 on 9/19/14. I called Verizon to do the number swap. No problem, BUT the number with eligibility would be assigned a smart phone data plan in addition to the existing number with a data plan. Something I do not want or need. This is a new policy as of August 24, 2014. Surprise!

I do not want to go to the EDGE plan. My only move is to send back my new iPhone 6 and cancel the whole transaction. No amount of explaining would get Verizon to treat me as they have in the past. Nice move three weeks prior to the big introduction. So, I will return the phone, cancel the spare number, and dump Verizon for ATT, when the dust settles. You can only screw your customers so far before they slip from Verizon's grasp.

My situation may be of some use to others.

I just did the same thing!

i havent cancelled my preorder yet though. I won't until I have the phone in my hands tomorrow.
 
Just ordered via apple my 6+ 64gb SG for in store pickup at my local store tomorrow.

And oh yeah, I'm switching carriers from ATT to Verizon - putting my money where my mouth is, hopefully others follow and actually do it too!!

Can't wait to call and cancel my existing order and have them ask what they can do to keep me and me to tell them too late, already ordered my Verizon one... suckit biatch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AHHHHHHHH I just ordered the same here in MD.

I am in absolute shock and disbelief... chatting with an AT&T rep right now to cancel my preorder. I am honestly borderline ashamed at how liberated I feel right now being able to move on from this stupid debacle with AT&T, but I think they just handled this whole preorder process so poorly that it really feels like I finally overcame such a thorn in my side. YES:

I'M FREEEEEEEEEE. Good luck to all of you. I hope you get your phones!! Willing to post details and walk anyone through the process if you need help. I just checked apple.com and saw that the iPhone 6 Silver 128gb is available at the Pasadena CA location for pick up. I jumped on it only to find out you can only get it if you are renewing a 2yr contract, AT&T NEXT does not qualify for pick up, 3-4 week shipping only. Back to the wait again...

Live chat seems to work depending on the load of who is attempting to access it at any given time.

If you see this:

I guess I am just out of luck :/. My line is associated with a business account. From what I have been told, I can only order in person through att corporate stores since it is under a business name and not an individual name.
