AT&T Pre-order status iPhone 6 Plus (only)

Just checked UPS mychoice and I got a tracking number to be received on the 9/19 but I'm not sure if it is from AT&T or from Apple, because I also pre-order an iphone 6 gold 128GB from Apple.com it weights: 1.20lbs, does AT&T usually uses UPS? and does Apple uses Fedex? does anyone know?
That's apple. Ordered 1 for my wife through them, regular iphone 6, have had the tracking for that since Sunday.

I believe so. I can't check fedex because it won't lemme verify myself for some reason. Last iphone 5 order I had was through apple, UPS. Well have to wait to see..
Same situation here, wife's phone is 6 from Apple. What you seeing there is the iPhone 6 you ordered from Apple.
I'm just starting to believe that my ship date is correct. If all of you are bumping up and I'm stuck with the 10/31-11/11 must be the right ship date. Still don't understand if it's first come first serve and people behind me are getting theirs before me.
First of all, all you guys really are great! I know none of us know much more than the others and it ultimately just seems like a huge mess that makes absolutely no sense, but just discussing it with each other and trying to make some connections I know at least for me helps.
Secondly, these really are first world problems, so we're all pretty lucky in the grand scheme of things, but people do this same thing for video games, sneakers, etc. so who's to judge where you place your obsession lol.
Lastly, although I'm still praying I reveive tracking info today, if I don't, those who have stood in line on launch day in the past, where do you think I'll have the most luck? The Apple Store or AT&T? I've been first in line for both the 5 and 5s launch at my local AT&T so I haven't really had to worry, but this year I'm expecting a big turn out and want to mazimize my chances. Either way, I have no problem with starting my occupation of the store unreasonably early, I just want to know which store is more likely to have the better stock from your experience.

People in the main AT&T thread are just now getting FedEx tracking #s via the AT&T order status page. The shipments are not showing phone numbers, order numbers, or anything in the reference fields.
The AT&T/FedEx phones are coming from FtWorth, and one of the recipients mentioned he's in Southern California.
AT&T is using both UPS and FedEx at the moment. In the past, I've known Apple to use FedEx only, but I would not be surprised at all if they are using both this time around.
I want to mention that if you check FlightAware for UPS flights coming out of Shenzhen (https://flightaware.com/live/iphone), you'll see that there are planes with iPhones coming through every day at all hours. 200K units per flight, if the user goforblacksky can be believed, and he mentions there are plenty of planes moving these. My point is that the AT&T distro points are likely recieving 10s of thousands of new phones every day at all hours, and connecting them with our orders as we type.
The AT&T order system just wasn't built for things happening so fast, and I would not be surprised that the grunt work comes first and the reporting/data entry comes second (or last).
I have a 10/2-10/13 date like many here, but would not be surprised if there was a scenario like "my" phone gets in tomorrow AM, gets connected to my order tomorrow afternoon, and then goes out tomorrow night. Follow what I'm saying? I'm sure the AT&T distro centers are absolute circuses at the moment, pizza parties and 12 hours shifts. I'd love to see a picture of that!

I shared your optimism earlier in the week and what you said could very well happen. I just keep going back to the rumors that surfaced a few months ago that the 6+ was having production issues and that there would be a shortage. That being said, if the shortage was big enough that no/little 6+'s would be available at launch, I would think Apple would have just delayed the whole lot of them by a few weeks. So here's to hoping Apple has enough to go around...
I think there's less of them, yes. But not full-on "shortage".
There was a picture of pallets posted somewhere and you could see if you looked closely some of the pallets had 16 boxes per layer, while others had 12 boxes per layer and were slightly bigger boxes.
I think it was maybe 2 of the 6 or 7 pallets had 12 boxes per layer.
I think most of us will be ok and happy on Friday. But not all. I suspect folks who ordered a plus Friday morning might have to wait a little bit.
I bet apples "shortage" 6+ is kind like Kraft's shortage of Velveeta during last years superbowl.... at least that what im telling myself hopin to get 6+ on friday haha
Well at least the reviews are out.. Apple handed out phones to tech reviewers on the condition that no review is published before Tuesday 9:00 pm ET..

The order I placed at 3:25 am est has been cancelled. The money has been placed back in my paypal account. In freaking furious. The AT&T site still says "pending shipment". I hoping that once they actually ship the money will be taken back out of my account.

Went from 10-13 to 10-2. I haven't noticed any shipping dates in late Sept. As in after the 19th. Seems like we are all Oct or later.
