Apple iPhone 6 Plus - 64GB - - Preparing to Ship

We're preparing to ship your item, and it will be sent to you on or between the shipping dates we've provided.

11/09/14 - 11/27/14* 1

Why would it change to 'Preparing to Ship' with the date range in late November?

My Info

I watched the last minute or two of the countdown on AT&T's site before it let me preorder. My orders were Premier because I get a discount on my monthly service due to the company I work for. My orders were on the AT&T NEXT plan. I ordered two 6 Plus 64gb Gold iPhones as follows:

First Phone:

Time: 2:04am CDT
First four digits of order # 1014
Initial Email: 2:06am CDT - stated 14-21 business days
Second Email: 5:57am CDT - expected shipment date 10/13 - 10/22
Text Message: 8:53pm CDT - Congratulations! Your order has been processed. You will be notified when your order has shipped.
Order status page: expected shipment date 10/13 - 10/22

Second phone:

Time: 2:07am CDT
First four digits of order # 1012
Initial Email: 8:25am CDT - stated 35-42 business days
Never received an order status email
Text Message: Friday evening sometime - Congratulations! Your order has been processed. You will be notified when your order has shipped.
Order status page: expected shipment date was November sometime, now says 10/13 - 10/22

Since the second phone was showing a November ship date, I ordered an iPhone 6 64GB Gold from Apple for delivery on 9/19 with the AT&T NEXT plan. I then tried to cancel the AT&T order, but I later received an email stating the order was not canceled.

At this point, I might be getting 3 phones via AT&T NEXT for only two lines. I guess I'll have to figure out how to go about returning one of them..

EDIT: I Forgot to mention that UPS and FedEx are not showing any shipments for me yet either.

Let's say we get no positive indication we will get our phone on 9/19. Can we line up on an att store and if you get a 6+, can they cancel preorder, reverse the upgrade, and let you walk out with the 6+ from the store?

This is what I plan on doing. I was told by an AT&T rep in store that our upgrade eligibility would not return in time to get it from the store. I also talked with a Premiere rep on the phone and they stated they can cancel it and your upgraded eligibility returns immediately. He stated that he did it with another customer and waited until they preordered with Apple to make sure their upgrade eligibility returned. So I'm not sure who is telling the truth but I don't want to cancel my preorder until I know I can get a 6 plus from the AT&T store.

I am an authorized retailer for AT&T and we are only receiving 1 iPhone 6 Plus. Its 64 GB Silver. Company owned stores will receive more, my guess is about 10 times the amount we get.

You can sell it on eBay and pay for your other two Pluses! :)

So is it safe to say that there are no 6 Plus orders with a ship date earlier than 10/2 for those that ordered via att.com?

A stock of 10 64gb iPhone 6 plus' would still be pretty bad. Thats extremely low.

P+ 64gb silver

Placed order right before 2:00am, received a confirmation about 30 minutes later and received a text saying order has been proceeded. I was given a 10/13-10/22 date but yesterday morning it changed to 10/2-10/13. The website doesn't say back ordered but pending shipment. When I call the AT&T order status line it says back ordered.

i've seen a few on the threads that have 6+ with 9/19 ship dates...some have even posted tracking...

I haven't seen an ATT one yet. Verizon models, yes but I haven't seen a iPhone 6+ estimated to come by launch day that was ordered through att. I might be overlooking it though.

Oh boy! Just got connected with a Live Rep online. Lots of people have stated that the rep sees their own AT&T date on their end that isn't necessarily the same as what we see on our side when checking our Order Status.

Going to see if this rep can give me any more information since I have conflicting information--Preparing to Ship "Status", 10/2-10/13 "Shipping date", and yet received the text that says my order is processed and being sent to the warehouse for shipment.

Why you gotta be so difficult to understand, AT&T?!

Update: Well, that was anticlimactic. After giving him all my info, order number and the such, he comes back with "The order will ship in 14-21 business days."

Meh, it was worth a shot. Back to the waiting game!

That ordered on AT&T's site? I haven't, they all ended up being Apple Store preorders.

Same here...even people that ordered before midnight (couple minutes) or right after have the same dates as me.

12:45am, 10/13-10/22

I feel like this always happens with AT&T preorders and if you got a legit order in with an hour or two after midnight you should be getting the phone friday...buttt there are 2 models this year so i have no idea what i'm talking about, wishful thinking :)

I believe those are Verizon, not AT&T. Not sure why Verizon has 9/19 dates and AT&T hasn't moved on their 6+ preorders. It's quite frustrating.

Sorry if this was said already, I'm trying to keep up reading and working at the same time. Was there any correlation discovered between the ship times and the order number? I ordered 9/12 at roughly 3:45am (6 plus 16gig silver) shipping estimate 10/13-10/22. Or the order number are completely random? thanks

I ordered my 6+ 64gb SG, 12:46am PST, received confirmation only at 4:44am, both shipping and tracking were pending until Sunday at 11:26am with shipping dates 11/09-11/27..

Was charged a random tax amount that's different than what the order said in the end, lower, which is better for me!

Right now i have a $1 and $460 authorization on my CC...hopefully thats good news.

6+ inventory is limited. I don't think carriers have much, if any, 6 Plus stock available. The Best Buy by my house is already warning people they may not get any 6+'s on release day.

My guess is that all the rumors about delayed production were correct, but Apple chose not to move the release day for the larger model. It's going to be an interesting few weeks until supplies ramp up.

BUT how can that be, today I am seeing Verizon, sprint, apple all sending people their 6+'s by launch day. ATT seems like it is the only carrier not telling their pre order customers that its coming on launch. Isn't ATT the biggest carrier out there? And Apple knows this so shouldn't they get the most stock due to demand? This is my first pre order so I don't know, but I am also reading by many ATT customers that ATT does this every year and you end up getting it on Launch day. Spending 40 mil on shipping for this launch seems like most who ordered within an hour of pre order will get on launch day. If not I say we all sit out front of ATT stores in mass protest on launch day, drop our pants and give them the middle finger...lol..

I have the $1 too. I have Next so just paid like $76 or something for the tax.

From what I know in online experiences, aren't companies NOT supposed to charge you for something unless they have it in stock? Like amazon or any other retailer online? Seems a bit odd we'd be paying for something they don't even have (for those who got charged the amount after the $1..)

Well... they have commitments from most people.

you know what i mean....
Don't have to be so literal....
I was a lawyer and a computer programmer. I absolutely have to be so literal. It's how my brain works.

Even apart from the literal aspect, it's exceedingly unlikely that AT&T will have much of anyone's money from preorders until they've shipped product.

This. I find it hard to believe that ATT isn't able to deliver Plus units for launch date and Verizon is. What a mess this has been. The thing is, I had a hunch not to pre-order through ATT due to past releases, but the Apple site was down so I bit the bullet anyway, I should have known better. Last time I'll pre-order from ATT that's for sure.

And to add salt to the wound, I'm pretty sure those of us who'll see our phones next month or whenever, will probably have a nice bill to go along with it, for a phone we never had.
