My guess is they sold their current phone on eBay or whatever to get max return on it and they were banking on getting a launch unit.

From a reddit thread about At&T 6+ orders... Who knows if true, but i'll believe anything by now:
Apparently the premier orders had to be approved manually by the premier office.
That office didn't open until 8AM EST.
i.e. Anyone who ordered on Premier essentially ordered at 5+ hours after pre-orders opened, that is why the ship date is that far out.

Well you're the first I've seen to get that email so maybe it's a good thing. If not that's a piss poor move on their part lol.
I find that hard to believe, being that I received contract confirmation at 6:45am that morning.
Even if true we've seen in store preorders well beyond that time of day receive tracking numbers...

I wouldn't mind if there was truly a shortage of devices and they were actually shipping in order of received. But I have an email confirming my order at 3:01AM ET, and when I see people who ordered hours later getting shipments, I've got to admit I find it frustrating.

according to his first tweet with them he had issues with his credit card, from other on this thread that error cost them their place in line, they put him in the front.
I didn't think of that. Mine was received at 4:48 am after a 3:27 order placement.

lol that's definitely what it feels like. Maybe I should place another order right now... I'd bet an AT&T rep would deliver it to my door at 12:01 AM tonight
you could still get your phone the same time they do. Lack of tracking pretty much means nothing at this point, but I understand....

So I am in the same boat as everyone else, ordered the 6+ 64GB SG a few minutes after the release, I have the shipping date of beg to mid October. What I find interesting is a message in my account inbox today:

what could really be messed up is
What if our phones do come tomorrow without us knowing or getting tracking info like many have in previous years. And we are not home to receive it cause we weren't informed. Then it will go back to the facility, and then it will be the weekend and we wont be able to go get it.....I guess that would be better than it not come at all, well would it...

not sure about that, I got my confirmation at 448am from a 3.18am order. According to Laura @ATTPremier the premier orders had a "glitch" with their time stamps so some orders during the first couple of hours of ordering may have been affected. But who knows since ATT IS SAYING NOTHING AT ALL
