Nah, I'm going to pay full price, I wanted to do that to begin with but had to use ATT Next because that's not an option. Had to use ATT Next through ATT and not Apple because I'm located in NY. Sucks so much.

Yep once you click that submit button ATT makes it very difficult to get your upgrade status reverted. I doubt that's by chance. Let's face it. The only reason anyone would bother preordering is so they can have the phone on launch day. Otherwise why pre order at all? Making it hard to revert upgrade status is a big F you to the customer.

LOL that's not even funny. Looks like I'm along for the ride in November!
 
I ordered my 6+ just after midnight and it is now showing a November shipping date. I know that this is probably just a place holder and it will hopefully ship earlier. But I am going to be out of the country from the middle of October through December, so if there is a chance I won't get the phone earlier it won't do me any good. I was just going to wait until next week and see if it gets updated to an earlier time and if not, just try my luck at the store. And I don't even care about AT&T since I have had T-mobile and Verizon and they all seem to work fine for my usage.

Some people have mentioned the Cancel Order button working/not working and it never showed up online for me. Then when I was checking online the Cancel button showed up so I thought I would see what happened.

I got the following three emails (most information received from AT&T yet):

3:32 - We've Received Your Preorder Cancellation Request (with the clink this link to confirm)
3:33 - Preorder Cancellation Request Submitted
3:35 - Preorder Not Cancelled

Gotta love AT&T, they won't even allow you to cancel. But if it doesn't come in the next few weeks and they won't accept a cancellation then it will just tie up a phone (that someone else could use) and that will be shipped to me when I cannot accept it and then it will just get sent back to AT&T.

I don't even care anymore, I would be fine just to wait until early next year when I return to the US and can walk into a store and pick one up...

This exact thing happened to me. Called AT&T and they cancelled it on their end immediately. Was able to use my upgrade on Apple within 5 minutes.

Ordered the 6+ 128 gig around 1am pacific time via ATT when I could finally get through. Got a confirmation with shipping date of Oct 12-17. Then got a notice order was processed and sent to the warehouse and my credit card has been charged the full amount.

64 gb iPhone 6 Plus Black (2 yr Contract)

My estimated shipping date is 11/9-11/27, which is insane, as I was told 3-4 weeks at the store. Otherwise, I would have ordered through Apple.

I have an issue with the fact that I want my next plan to renew every mid-September, but this whole November delivery date is going to screw that up. Is anyone currently ordering the pluses through Apple and getting a much earlier delivery date? Or are all of the pluses "backordered?"

Oh, and my credit card was charged for both phones, which makes no sense since they haven't been shipped out...

I ordered a 6 Plus from Apple and my delivery date is September 19th.
 
Even more bizarre. I cancelled my order and 16 days later the phone is delivered.

When I ordered my 5S from AT&T last year the order status system was completely unreliable. While it was "preparing for shipment" it arrived at my door.

I hope they do a better job this time. My AT&T 6+ 64 GB gray phone was ordered 9/13 with a projected delivery timeframe of 11/7 to 11/21.

Just a little pissed now....

Iphone 6 ordered within 10 minutes of preorder release, email confirmation timestamped 3:12am. Received email that afternoon saying phone would ship 9/19.
Today got a new email saying end of Oct.

Wife also ordered Iphone+ and has a ship date first week of Oct.

So she's getting her + before I get the regular...
 
I ordered mine yesterday in a authorized retailer and att was showing i would get it between the 23rd of this month and the 2nd of next month now its showing that i will get it on launch day or the day before
 
P6+ at Apple was 3-4 weeks a couple hours ago. I have double ordered now and will cancel my AT&T order if I get my Apple order first. I was willing to wait until October whatever for the phone but after CC issue I got bumped to November. No thanks.

I was told, when I ordered at the AT&T store, that I can't cancel my order. Now, my question is how would I go about returning the phone(s)?

This is just extremely frustrating. I mean we should not have to wait two months...
 
Everybody calm down! This had happened to me 2 years ago when I preordered my iPhone 5.....the shipping date that was shown originally with my order thru the at&t website wasn't even close to when I should be receiving it....throughout the coming week my ship date kept changing day by day to the actual launch date......don't get pissed that verizon is already getting tracking numbers....just give at&t a chance to catch up on their orders and our shipping dates and tracking numbers will arrive within the next couple of days......no need to worry.
 
I hope AT&T is just wrong on the preorders then. To place mine right at the open of preordering and have basically the same window is ridiculous.

chatting with an Apple representative now and she said:

"You could if you'd like. We will have them before we make them available to third parties so you would have it sooner."

I'll shed a week or so thru Apple, screw it.
 
How preordering through at&t works

Apple tells AT&T how many of each type of new iPhones will be reserved for them..
APPLE ships the bulk to a warehouse but embargoes are placed on the items to companies that are not of apple so no product can be shipped before launch day.
AT&T has to sort through all the iPhones and put them in new packaging with customers shipping address.
Launch day, AT&T will start shipping to the first few supply they have. They won't be able to ship anymore until Apple sends them more.
APPLE AND APPLE STORES HAVE FIRST PRIORITY

I bought 3 iPhone 5's on launch day and then 1 of the people I got them for didn't want it, so I just took it back to them and they were cool with it. It was unopened, so I dunno if that helped, but I didn't have any problems returning it. I didn't even have a receipt.
 
please don't tell me it was in gold for your wife. That's gonna make me sad because I ordered the same phone from ATT and my shipping date is yours. And I ordered at 12:00 AM. if only I had waited an extra 45 minutes for Apple


Don't be sad just try your luck in store. I had the same reaction when I order from AT&T but I just went to apple n order the gold plus 64 from apple so far it's still showing 9/19 date and the AT&T one was canceled
 
Apple is showing ship times of iphone 6 at 7-10 days which could get you a 6 phone on launch day. Question is do you kill an ATT order with the hopes of Apples website being correct?

Thanks. My link doesn't go to a page formatted that way. It definitely doesn't have gray sidebar areas and it says Order Status Detail for the H1 and title area. Although it looks like you've ordered the NEXT plan while my order was for the 2yr upgrade so that is likely the difference. Looks like 2yr upgrade peeps have no option to cancel but NEXT does.

iPhone 6 should be no problem as many others have said! it's the iPhone 6 Plus thats the issue!

you have to have an option, thats BS. You can try chatting with an AT&T rep on AT&T.com.. thats what Im doing now.
 
ATT has charged the full amounts to my card. For my wife's (Next) phone and my brothers (subsidy) phone. They're both saying November. My wife's phone was ordered at about 12:06am. My brothers at about 1:14am.

When I couldn't get through with ATT for my phone I went through Apple with the AppStore app at about 12:45am. It is saying 9/19 as a delivery date.

Either way I'm sure the dates will change soon for the ATT orders. This happened with my iPhone 5's. I remember them giving an October date and I was furious because Gazelle has send back dates. But it all ended up working out.

I wonder if anything can be deciphered by order numbers like the 5's were. LoL

I'm pretty sure that means 7-10 days _after_ launch day. If it could get there at launch day it would say "Arrive by 9/19"

Go ahead and order through the Apple store now. My 2yr upgrade worked there even though I also have the same order pending with AT&T. Their website says cancelling isn't possible but from what I've read here some people have successfully canceled theirs. Now it may only be for those who chose NEXT vs upgrade pricing since someone showed me a link with a Cancel Order from their NEXT purchase at AT&T. My account does not have that option probably b/c I ordered 2yr upgrade. Worst case scenario I get two phones and one of them goes back unopened for a full refund. If they try any restocking fee bs I am sure I can get it waived (famous last words).
 
Question...does anyone know if AT&T uses UPS or Fedex? I'm trying the trick where I enter in my phone number/order confirmation number to see if I can find a shipping number before ATT emails it. Also, has anyone received AT&T's shipping info??

Let me know if you successfully canceled your order at AT&T, and if you initially bought it using their NEXT program. Those folks seem to be able to cancel at will while 2yr upgrade peeps cannot cancel.
