AT&T Pre-order status

After chatting with a Premier rep they can still give no explanation as to why orders are showing Preparing to Ship but having a shipping date of 10/2-10/13

I just read on Reddit that Premier orders had to be manually approved by the Premier people...and that office opened at 8AM EST on the 12th. So they're saying people with Premiwr essentially had their orders placed 5+ hours after the preorder started.

I don't know if there's any truth to this. Pretty crummy if so.

Ordered Sept. 12 at 3:30AM EST via AT&T. iP6 64gb space grey. Shipped in transit for tomorrow delivery by 8PM. Called to ask for hold at location and they said I need to contact AT&T to allow the change, which I've heard even Verizon does this and will release for delivery options.

Nope... Preparing to Ship still... been stuck at that since the weekend. Dates got bumped up a week to 10/2 to 10/13 on Tuesday but no movement since then. I ordered at 345am EST through Premier.

iPhone 6+ SG 16GB - My hopes have pretty much faded at this point. The more reviews i read though, the more I feel like the Plus will be too big for everyday use anyway.

Pretty similar situation,but I'm excited about having the plus.

the "My Orders" tab on my ATT page says "preparing to ship" which is an upgrade over yesterday, when there was nothing listed. The date listed for delivery is 10/13-10/22.

The 866 number says my order has shipped.

The 877 number says my order is backordered.

It seems that a lot of people are getting shipping confirmations today but I haven't received anything. I guess that is understandable since I ordered later than most on this thread.

Any thoughts on the latest that you'd receive a shipping update? If I don't hear anything by say 8 PM I'm going to assume that my order didn't go through with the preorders and I'll have to wait a few weeks.

Anyone living near a major shipping hub in a major city should not be immediately alarmed if they have not received their tracking yet. Tracking numbers are often generated when they are scanned at pick up. So it is possible if you are with in one day delivery time of a major hub you may not receive your tracking until late tonight or at all. It is possible that it could be scanned tonight at or around 5:30 when the ground trucks arrive.

But admittedly time is running out at this point

Curious if anyone in the NYC metro area or NJ has received their tracking for a plus yet or other major port cities?

It wouldn't surprise me. I've never dealt with a more clumsy and inefficient organization. In most cases you would expect a "business" related dept to give you better service.

At this point it sounds like 3/4's of the orders are Premier. If that's true... poor Premier staff. Manually approval sounds pretty scary for an iPhone release in 2014.

Here's an interesting article on how production in China cannot keep up with the demand, and how production of the 6+ is way less than the 6. The numbers are crazy.

Even if they're only producing 140,000 plus models/day, I'm assuming they've been manufacturing for at least two weeks, that's 1.96MM units they should have available at launch. I know they received 4MM preorders the first day. If it was 80/20 in favor of the plus they'd need 3.2MM. So they'd be 1.2MM short of what they need. That still doesn't explain why I'm not getting one of the 1.96MM when I ordered before the official window! That's why I'm angry!

I have a feeling this is true I ordered my IP6+ 128 gig at 2:22am CST on the 12th. I did not receive my confirmation email until 7:34 am CST which would be 8:34 am EST.... I was told yesterday that I lost my place in line due to processing, but they could not tell me what happened. So pretty much my order did not go through until 7:34 am!!

Exactly! Again, maybe not true, but if it is, and if I were a business owner, they'd rue the day. Completely unacceptable, unless they're going to manually put everyone into their correct spot "in line". Which, to be fair, could be part of the shipping dates craziness.

That's screwed up. Lost your place in line due to processing?! Did a premier rep tell you that? Unbelievable! More like never got a place in line because you weren't getting in line at all when you thought you were.

Bummer, indeed. It'll come. We'll make it. I had my heart set on tomorrow, too. I'm pretty done being all Pollyanna, but maybe it's possible that we who should've been in the very front of the line will just be the very last ones to actually be shipped! It's a Longshot. And I'm certainly over Hope.

Side note, iOS 8 is doing some interesting capitalization today!

Edit: just saw you have a 6, I have a 6+ so same situation, diff phone lol

You have a 6+ ordered at 3:45 AM with a tracking #?! I ordered a 16 GB 6+ at 3:05 AM and have a "preparing to ship" status w/ a 10/2-10/13 date

On a positive note for those who need options for standing in line tomorrow,Costco kiosk agent just told me his location will have only 6 6+s tomorrow,in addition to 6s. He would not elaborate on which 6+s though. Its a simple procedure-get in line and they will give tickets out-once the tickets are gone,thats all.
