Just tried this and you're absolutely correct.
weird but correct.




What's weird is if I click on the email link (with web order number) and it takes me to the ATT Direct website where you plug in your zip code. It gives me ability to cancel order. But shows October 31-November 11th shipping date.

Now if I go directly to att.com and log in. Than go to "my orders". Under order details, it says "preparing to ship"

But shipping date is still October 31-November 11th

for some reason I feel like if your status says: "preparing to ship", you're in the clear. "pending" not so much.

Not sure if thats an accurate way to tell. I say that because when I check my order through premier it says "pending" but when I check through the regular order status system it says "preparing to ship"

My order status is below. I really hope this is all I have to wait. But the fact that it is still in a "pending" status is worrisome to me.

Check through your att online account and not the emails sent. I have one order placed, but it has 2 order numbers and 2 different status. For some reason it looks like the link in the email is not updating the status, mine says pending, but when checking my order throughout myatt, it show prep airing to ship.
 
ordered at 3:01 est iphone 6+ i have received 2 text saying congrats order says preparing to ship called att automated number it says backordered :mad: have a ship date od 10-31 to 11-11 unacceptable may cancel and wait on note 4 lol:mad::mad::mad:

Mine does the exact same thing too....I guess it will just be a complete surprise when we all get our phones, lol. Maybe somehow someway they will just appear on 9/19!!!
 
For everyone seeing shipments through ups/fedex what order number are you referencing the one on myatt or the one in your confirmation email?
 
Anyone know if we would have to pay the Next price installment on our next bill even if we don't have our phones yet?

I'm in the 10/13 - 10/22 window and that would kinda suck if I had to make a payment on something that I don't even have yet.
 
Can't sign up for UPS MyChoice, it's complaining that my apartment address has been determined to be a commercial address so it's failing the address verification... nice. Guess I'll just follow this thread and see how similar orders play out.

This is definitely not an accurate way to tell. If you click on the little question mark next to "preparing to ship" it clearly says "We're preparing your order now, and it will ship on or between the shipping dates provided"

All you have to do is sign up for the free ups my choice service, then itll ask you to put down some names like your name and your wife name additonal then your shipping address then itll search to see if you got any shipments that week.

then ups even email you (if u put down a email address) to let you know theres a shipment coming if you havent gotten any shipping confirmation.

I dont have any shipment coming the 19th yet, hopefully itll show up by monday evening.

My iPhone + preorder is being delivered to a commercial address and it seems like this service is not offered for commercial addresses. Is there a way I could look up my order without a tracking number that is coming to a commercial address? :(
 
I just have a UPS My Choice account. It lists all deliveries that are scheduled to my address. On a whim I checked it and this package was listed.

AT&T's order status page doesn't have any tracking info yet. It still just says it's "preparing to ship".

Did you have to have UPS My Choice before AT&T generated the shipment in order for it to show, or it just popped up?

I just signed up for it BTW

Try to put your phone number or order number in the REFERENCE box
 
Set my alarm for 3 am EST....got through on AT&T's website and order was placed by 3:07 EST. Confirmation email arrived in my inbox at 5:50 EST saying order would ship in 21-28 business days. Order status on AT&T's page says shipping expected between 10/31 - 11/11...........say what?!?!?!?!?! Ordered 6+ 128gb gold. Will be paying AT&T Next for possibly two months before I even have the phone in hand. Seems a bit jacked up if you ask me.

You don't make installment payments for Next until the phone is activated. And even then it probably won't show up until the next billing period.
 
ATT is garbage.

They lied to a lot of us. What can we collectively do as a group to show them this is unacceptable for a reputable company to do?

1.) switch carries (we'll end up getting the phones later than we are planned to get them now and other carries are just as scummy)
2.) complain (manager please? manager please? probably wont get us a thing)

Do we have any power as consumers?

Again, I wouldn't put too much stock in the "status" on AT&T's web site. I have three ordered phones and they all say "pending" but I know for sure that one of those is already out for shipment with a delivery of 9/19.

Folks, it's going to take AT&T a while to get through their backlog of orders. Not everyone's are going to ship on the same day. Just because someone already has shipping info doesn't mean yours won't ship in the next 4-5 days. As has been said many times, give them a few more days to sort stuff out...I'm sure many of you will e happy.

I remember that this problem happened to the iPhone 5 and arrive on the day of release... I recommend you to wait to Monday or Friday (release day), there are many people canceling orders.
 
My experience is similar to other posts for ordering an iPhone 6+ (64GB space gray). Had to order through AT&T since I was using a shared upgrade on my Mobile Share plan. Ordered at 12:06am Pacific and received confirmation that my order would ship in 14-21 business days followed by an email several hours later estimating a shipment date of 10/13-10/22, then two consecutive order confirmation texts the next day. My credit card has a pending charge / authorization, but has not actually been charged. My order status is "preparing to ship" which, according to the AT&T website, just means preparing to ship in the estimated date range.

I had the same experience with AT&T when I preordered the new iPhone 5 two years ago. The phones were available in AT&T stores on release day, but they wouldn't let me buy one in store and cancel my preorder. Unfortunately, my phone arrived only a few days before the estimated ship date which was well after the release date, so I'm not holding out much hope for receiving the 6+ much earlier, particularly since even orders placed through the Apple Store are now receiving estimated ship dates in mid October. Looks like the earliest estimated shipment date anyone has received for a 6+ is 10/2...

Incidentally, I also ordered an iPhone 6 (not 6+) for my daughter through the Apple Store app and was instantly able to confirm an in-store pickup on September 19th. I would always order directly from Apple rather than AT&T when possible for faster delivery and a much better customer experience.

Which also means you won't be able to do the trade in until... october or November when you get your phones if that's something you're planning on doing.

Personally, I plan on paying for the phone in full (either early or according to the payment schedule) since I think it's a better deal to sell the phone myself than trade it in for ~$340 in forgiven payments.
