Apple site was down/having issues/slow, people rushed to carrier site to order than complain because they are not getting on launch day. Classic!

Fair enough. My comment was more targeted at people who are complaining that they have to wait a whole 21 days to get the phone.

I actually was going to initially wait a few months to get the phone (this is the first time I will ever own a "current" iphone version. waiting is not a problem for me), but it is clear from the ordering experiences, AT&T did not have a single iphone 6 Plus available to ship for launch date. I haven't heard of a single person getting one. If they had zero, this information should have been known. Additionally, when you order and they tell you 14 days -- then they switch everyone to 2 months back -- you feel like you were given bad information, possibly on purpose, in order to get your money. They've already drafted my account but I won't get the phone til November. These are legitimate reasons to be frustrated. No one's head is exploding. Complaining about the complaining is obnoxious in its own right.
 
I ordered 2 iPhone 6's one for myself and one for my wife. I did it through At&T because we changed to the Next plan.

I ordered mine (64GB Silver iPhone 6) at approx. 1:00am MST.

I then ordered my wifes (64GB Gold iPhone 6) approx 10 min later.

Both email confirmations said they would be shipped 9/17-9/18, but now mine has changed to 9/23/-10/01. Not as bad as some people that I have read, but still, I got up in the middle of the night specifically to get my phone shipped to me on launch day, and now this? Anyone talk to AT&T and find a solution?
 
So you were 1 of 2 that got through on Apple,congrats. I got through at 255a on AT&T site while a gazillion others were,well,I'm sure you know by now re: the Apple site.

The carriers have, and have always had, their own stock of phones for launch. One selling out doesn't help the other and AT&T doesn't get to pull more phones from Apple just because they are out. They have to order more to be manufactured.

So AT&T had what? 10 phones? I have to think I was one of the first people who ordered. Makes 0 sense.

I'd guess they had around 30K phones staged. Even if they had 200K, which is possible, Apple sold >2M 5S's on the first day and most were first thing. They could blow throw 200K in a few minutes easily.

Same thing here. Ordered at like 2:48 AM ET, prior to 3:00 AM, and I have a delivery date of 10/2 to 10/13... That makes no sense and I'm hoping its an error with their inventory/order system. Also ordered one on Verizon and it is set to arrive on 9/19. Both 128 GB 6+s

Makes sense. If they drafted my account I would be mad too
 
My account was charged this morning at 9:30am for a phone I'm going to receieve accourding to ship date in 6 weeks. LOLOL

Ok, so you made the decision to order from At&t instead of waiting for Apple to figure out/fix website.

Sorry, I would never mess with carrier sites. Never have , never will. Been on this board a long time (have owned every iphone) and each year there are the same issues with carrier sites. Never fails
 
Crap!

Placed my order 3:10AM EST on the AT&T website as the Apple Store & Apple Store App would not work- just got a confirmation and an expected "Ship Date" of 09/23-10/02. What is that about!? I even got notification they charged my card also!!!

I don't understand how I can place an order BEFORE it was supposed to go on sale (5 min early) and not get release day.

I was able to check the shipment date of iPhone 6 and it really can be that long since this is a pre-order.

Woke up this morning and got all 3 email confirmations for my 3 lines. All CC $1 charge was converted to full $300 something charge. Ships 9/19! Yes peace of mind....

I did the same. I noticed as I was placing the order that the shipping estimate was 2 to 3 weeks. I don't know that AT&T had *any* 6 Plus available.
 
same boat on the 9/23-10/01 for whatever reason...... even though you can still go to apple store and that is showing delivery 9/19

My order number starts with 1010(premier) and the email says on or around 9/19 but expected shipping date 9/23-10/2. Ordered at 3:11am EST

Okay dude, you're awesome and we're not because we looked for different options. Enough already. Enjoy your phone on the 19th. I'll enjoy mine when it gets to me...not that big of a deal but you gloating about the fact that you did the "right" thing is childish. Go play with your ball.
