"Your Apple iPhone 6 - 64GB – Gold will arrive on September 19th."

I missed the expected delivery date in the ATT email, which didn't come in until after I had gone back to bed.

Then saw this morning that the apple.com store was finally up, and showed that I could have ordered there for delivery by the 19th.

Hopefully come in early enough on the 19th so I can activate and restore from backup before leaving town for the weekend.

Placed my order through AT&T and of course it didn't exactly say when. I wonder if I call AT&T today or next week and cancel the order? Is that possible?

Canceling AT&T order was not possible so I cancelled my Apple order which guaranteed delivery by 9/19. I have no idea when AT&T will deliver.

I ordered once with NEXT and didn't get an email, so I ordered again. I still haven't received emails for both orders but I did get the order IDs, albeit not trackable. Does that mean I will receive 2 phones eventually and I will have two phones under financing for my account?

Same here. Kinda nerve-racking.

I spoke with a rep before pre-ordering and she told me that it would be no problem changing the shipping address. That it would be a one time thing and to not worry about it. Hopefully she was right.

Online I entered my work address as the shipping address. Something you can't do when ordering the iphone via the apple store. At least based on previous experience. Then, this morning I called the credit card company and added the work address to my account. So I hope it all works out. I don't want to play fedex/ups/tag with being at work most of the day, then planning to head out of town that evening.

Well I hope everything works out for all who pre-ordered. I opted for the AT&T next program and it listed two extra monthly charges on my account. I already pay $40/mo for my line ( I have the 10GB shared) so I hope it's just stating I'll be renewing my contract and then of course the $35/mo for the next program. I only pay 120/mo now for two lines, if it goes up to $155-160/mo I'll be alright. I'll check for my AT&T email later today and also check the ORDER ID.

Everyone is saying the email comes later. I did the same, do you know if our bill only comes up from the pricing of the device? Assuming you have AT&T..

So is it possible to cancel an order? I'd rather get it through Apple.

When I follow the order link to att's site, there is an option to cancel the order. I don't know how fast it undoes your contract renewal, so will Apple's site still show eligibility?

I figured that the 6+ would be most likely to quickly sell out. Rumors for awhile that production was limited on them.

I was able to preorder a 6 (64gb) from AT&T at about 3:10AM and then I went ahead and preordered from Apple at 3:50AM when it finally decided to work. It's for the same line and I received confirmation emails for both of them.

So AT&T will automatically cancel my order from them? Is it possible to get two iPhones for the same line?

Never get this right on kick off day

Got up at 3 AM EST to order the phone. Preferred ordering through Apple but either them or AT&T would be fine. Tried both sites and Apple app for 30 minutes. Both down. Finally got my order at AT&T to go through at around 3:40 AM. 10-14 day ship estimate. OK, my wife will live with the crappy 4s for two more weeks. Wake up, new email from AT&T saying 10-14 to 10-22, which is 5 to 6 weeks, correct? Check Apple site and it gives a 3-4 week estimate on the same phone. So why did I get up at 3AM again? Not going to try canceling and reordering through Apple, but this whole shell game every year has got to stop. I'm sure people will be walking in and out of stores in a couple of weeks with new phones and no lines in about three weeks. And they'll tell me I have to wait for mine like last time. This morning I feel like Charlie Brown having let Lucy hold the football for him to kick again.

Update on mine;

I just received a confirmation email. That's 1 of the 2 I should get. Based on my order time, it took about 6 hours and 30 minutes for me to get the confirmation email. No sign of the other yet, but hopefully it'll come through quickly.

Email say "expected to arrive on or around 9/19/2014". Also, my order ID's both start with 1012.

Canceling with apple was straight forward and easy. I had no confidence in ATT so I killed the Apple order. I will never use ATT for this again. Even though Apple got off to a rocky start the process was easy and straight forward and easy to undo. ATT needs to get their act together.

Got my email around 7:30AM EST (ordered at 3:31AM):

Thank you for your purchase from the Premier Online Store and for choosing AT&T as your wireless service provider.

Your Apple iPhone 6 Plus (64GB Space Gray) has been reserved and will ship within 21 - 28 business days. Your iPhone has been reserved. All orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Your order may be subject to AT&T eligibility and credit requirements. If we have any questions about your eligibility or your order, we will contact you via email.

I almost pulled the trigger on a 64GB iPhone 6 Plus through Apple to get it in 3-4 weeks had an order up on my iPad also for a 4.7'' iPhone 6 64GB to get it on launch day, but the email came through in the nick of time.

First four of order#: 1018

Ordered through AT&T - got in at 11:55 pm PDT.

And my confirmation this morning says it won't deliver until after Oct 2?

Well the emails came and it says 21-28 business days. That's not gonna work given my phone situation. How hard is it to cancel through AT&T?

I'm pretty upset that I ordered mine 10 minutes after they started and it won't be delivered until 10/2-10/13. Two hours later I checked on the Apple site and the same phone was only delayed 1 to 2 weeks. I ordered it using the Next program and I see that my upgrade is still showing available. If it is still saying that on the 19th I might try to wait in line and get at the Apple Store. On ATT's web site it says on-line orders can't be canceled, but they can be returned within 14 days and if un-opened you get a full refund. It also says you can take the return to an ATT Store, which I would likely do.

I've looked on that page and don't see a cancel order button.

In my confirmation email it says my iPhones been reserved and will arrive on or around 9/19 but when going to my order status page it shows me this:

Status: Pending
Expected Ship Date: Pending confirmation
Last Updated: Sep 12, 2014

What the hell AT&T is this what it shows you guys too? Btw this on the business premier site since I'm on a FAN discount.

mine says same.... its just the generic premier order email.

Also was anyone charged over 100 bucks when going through Next? I'm being charged more than taxes alone it looks like an entire new line and mobile share plan. This is just awful.

Mine said the same and finally just got updated....with a shipping date of 10/31/14 - 11/11/14?! WTF?!

Wow this will be something to look out for. No change in mine yet why is something telling mine will be pushed back even further? Smfh

If I recall correctly from the iPhone 5 (last time I used AT&T), many of the pre-orders delivered on launch day despite what it said for the delivery date and the backordered code lifted when the phone actually shipped in China/from staging in the US.

I remember that by the time both mine and my wifes showed as shipped and with a tracking number, it was already on the truck out for delivery.

Well this proves the first four numbers don't mean much at all.

Your Apple iPhone 6 Plus – 64GB – Space Gray will ship in 14-21 business days
Order Number: 1626*
Your order was placed: 01:53 AM CDT September 12, 2014 (2:53 AM EST)

You are correct. I think the 21-28 days is generic regardless of when you order. Doesn't mean you'll get it on the 19th, but by the time I got a tracking, it was on truck for delivery.

UGH October shipping!

Credit card was already charged 51 dollars for taxes. Tried canceling the pre-order but it refuses to let me. Going to call in the morning and hope to hell I can cancel. Does anyone have experience with this?

I can't remember in which order I ordered from both Apple and AT&T last year, but I eventually ended up canceling both orders and later ordering from Apple for in-store pickup. I didn't have a problem with either. My upgrade eligibility was restored quite quickly, IIRC within an hour or so of cancellation.
