So i stay up until 3am last night.

Get my pre orders in at 3:15 EST time.

I get an email that is stating 21-28 DAYS (Apple iPhone 6+ 64GB) for confirmation.

Now folks saying they ordered at 8am EST via apple site are getting launched day?

What kind of BS is that????

Weird. Maybe they ordered different, less popular phones. I ordered around 3:20 EST Using the app. Att, 64g, 6+. Delivers on 19th.

Looking back at other launches, things tend to shake out a little as orders are processed - so I wouldn't get too panicked.

But if supplies are as limited as rumored to be, then the lion's share are going to be available at Apple. That's always been the case.

It also seems like demand for the plus is higher than anticipated. I know MR doesn't represent the public at large, but it seems like more than half of the preorder posts have been about the plus model. I never would have thought a 'Note' size iPhone would be more popular than a 4.7 model.

Yes. I ordered via AT&T before you and now I'm getting my phone 21-28 business days later.. that makes TOTAL SENSE.

Does your email also say, "Preorder items will be shipped as soon as they are available"?

I wonder if the emails are boilerplate or specific to the iPhone release.

My understanding of the way things typically go, if you don't get a phone from the first batch, it will be a while. Probably more than 21-28 days. So, in a way, the 21-28 doesn't make a lot of sense standing alone, so it may not be worth too much weight. It may just be an artifact of AT&T's inventory system or the like.

I think if you order from ATT, regardless if you were the first in line, you would get the 21-28 business days. I wanted to order from Apple directly but we all know how their site went. the ATT estimated shipping date doesn't really mean anything. you could get it on the 19th, or the week after or the month after, unfortunately its the luck of the draw.

I'm pretty sure that's what will happen. If not oh well no biggie.

I logged into the AT&T website at 3:00AM on the dot, got in without any issues and added a 6+ to the cart and the website told me 14-21 business days. So right off the bat they were giving inflated shipping times. It's probably all estimates at this point.

If I recall correctly from the iPhone 5 (last time I used AT&T), many of the pre-orders delivered on launch day despite what it said and the backordered code lifted when the phone actually shipped in China/from staging in the US.

I remember that by the time both mine and my wifes showed as shipped and with a tracking number, it was already on the truck out for delivery.

ATT was "out of stock" when I tried to order there, so I just ordered from Apple and got a "delivers 9/19" email a few minutes ago.

For whatever reason I got an error message from Apple last night when I was finally able to log in. Apparently you can't order using AT&T NEXT online through Apple if "you primarily live in New York".

Wish that had been explained to me before I woke up @ 3:00am EST and spent a hour trying to log in.

Anyway, got up this morning (~8:30am EST)and tried the AT&T site on a lark. Went through.

Confirmation says "Your Apple iPhone 6 (64GB Silver) has been reserved and is expected to arrive on or around 9/19/2014."

I'm cautiously optimistic, but this is AT&T we are talking about.

Estimate Ship dates: 10/31/14 - 11/11/14*

That better change.

This may be a 6+ issue. Both the 6's I ordered from AT&T show 9/19 delivery dates (at least as of now).
