AT&T Preorders, 3am EST, 21-28 Days Makes no sense

i think it is depend on the stock, Iphone 6 plus tend to have less stock. i did order mine on att for IPhone 6 and 6 Plus at the same time through ATT. the 6 show delivery date September 19, the 6Plus october 12.

I had that earlier this morning but now it has vanished...hoping that's a good thing. Does anyone know what that meant?

In previous years, this meant a specific phone had been pulled and assigned to your order. It means you should be getting it on launch day.

Do you still have that backordered line item (says something like: VAR INTANG1)?

I do in my email

but when you check the order online, it's the same as the picture above

Hopefully I do get it on launch day, despite the shipment est. of 10/13-10/22 lol

Ordered before 3AM EST, as soon as ATT site went live with orders, even got my confirmation email at 3:01AM in my inbox. Confirmation said 14-21 business days, order status shows Oct. 13-22 as shipping range, which is outside of the confirmation, and even the confirmation range is ridiculous to begin with. Not happy!

When I got my first confirmation email at 3:01am EDT (basically right when I ordered), it just said 14-21 biz days. The order status page says: 10/13/14 - 10/22/14* (with the asterisk saying that is estimated).

hmmm, my only guess is there was a que and they just starting tossing dates at people.. least lets hope

This may be a 6+ issue. Both the 6's I ordered from AT&T show 9/19 delivery dates (at least as of now).

Yes, it seems the rumors of the plus being in short supply were accurate. Had no trouble ordering two 6's, estimated delivery 9/19.

Yea that's what I'm hoping. Someone one here said they spoke with AT&T on the phone and said the dates are just there for "expectation management" and are subject to change, so we'll see.

I'm on hold now with AT&T.. have been for 65 minutes. lol

My AMEX is now showing a pending charge for the sales tax on my phone.

Does AT&T charge at purchase regardless of ship date?

They sure as heck had better not start charging the Next fee before my phone shows up.

Different SKUs will have different availability depending on how many are produced, in-stock, how popular they are, etc.. I know the 6 Plus went very quick and are at a 45+ day delivery, whereas the Black and Gold 4.7in where listed as delivering on the 19th this morning.

The shipping date is probably irrelevant tho, it may be a longer wait, it may be shorter, it may be on your door the 19th. I'm not sure if any exact inventory numbers are available so it may just be (probably is) an estimate, most likely one that is exaggerated so you don't get your hopes up and disappointed.

128g ATT iPhone 6+

I was up at 11:30 pt and started to do the page refresh on best buy and apple store site on safari at 12:01am every 30 seconds, then it wen't to every 5mins. Around 1:20am pt I got thru to apple store app on my ipad. I got the phone reserved at my local apple store, and got a e-mail with the reservation number for 8:00am on the 19th.
The wait was worth it. By 3:00am it was on a 3 to 4 week wait.

Seems like this is a 6 Plus issue. I ordered at 8 am eastern and both my 6 64gb phones show expected September 19th deliveries. Maybe AT&T is not getting a very limited number or maybe even none of the 6 Plus phones.

My understanding of the way things typically go, if you don't get a phone from the first batch, it will be a while. Probably more than 21-28 days. So, in a way, the 21-28 doesn't make a lot of sense standing alone, so it may not be worth too much weight. It may just be an artifact of AT&T's inventory system or the like.

Just called AT&T because I'm in a similar boat. It's worse. 21-28 business days. October 20 is the delivery. But right now Apple.com isn't any better. At this rate I'll probably just monitor store availability and pick one up then cancel the order.
